UA is a boarding school or a college.
All courses take the same written exam; the practical exam differs.
All courses have a specialized exam and then a secondary exam that the students select for where they want to focus.
Hero: Limelight, Underground, Rescue
Support: Equipment, Costume, Analysis
Management: Legality, Media, Business
Gen Ed doesn't exist in this universe.
How I would write this:
Midoriya would still be quirkless and take the Underground Hero and Analysis Support exams.
He gets into the Hero Course and becomes fast friends with Shinsou
He joins the Analysis club, where he meets Hatsume and Nezdu (Nezdu probably runs it).
