Work Text:
Iruma paced back and forth in his room, feeling more anxious than usual. He had just learned that his adoptive grandfather, Sullivan, had gone on a trip and wouldn't be back for a while. Normally, this wouldn't bother him too much, but for some reason, it was really getting to him.
As he sat down on his bed, he tried to calm himself down. He knew he had friends he could talk to, but for some reason, he didn't want to burden them with his problems. That's when he heard a knock at his door.
"Come in," he called out.
To his surprise, it was Kalego, his demon teacher. "Is everything okay, Iruma-kun?" he asked, his voice soft and concerned.
Iruma hesitated for a moment before finally admitting, "I'm just feeling a bit down. Grandpa's gone on a trip and I guess I just miss him."
Kalego sat down next to him and put a hand on his shoulder. "I understand how you feel. I lost my own father when I was your age."
Iruma looked up at him in surprise. He had never thought of Kalego as having a family before. "I'm sorry," he said.
"It's okay," Kalego assured him. "But I want you to know that I'm here for you, Iruma-kun. You can talk to me anytime you need to."
Iruma smiled gratefully at him. He had never really considered Kalego as a father figure before, but in that moment, he felt like he had someone to turn to. "Thank you, Kalego-sensei," he said.
Kalego ruffled his hair affectionately. "Just remember, Iruma-kun, you're not alone. You have friends who care about you, and I'll always be here for you."
Iruma felt a warmth spread through him at Kalego's words. He knew he still missed his grandpa, but for now, he was grateful for the demon teacher who had become a mentor, a friend, and maybe even a father figure to him.
