Chapter Text
Slowly waking up from dreamland I can hear my dad signing in the kitchen as he makes breakfast. It’s not a bad way to wake up, especially when paired with a purring cat making biscuits on my chest. Said cat is a 2-year-old Tuxedo cat named Radio. She is the youngest of the three and my bonded cat. Both of my parents have a bonded cat as well. It’s funny because we each picked and named each other’s cat. My singing father picked Radio. Bastard the orange tabby that is 5 and most likely in the kitchen with dad was picked by pops. Lastly, Dragon the oldest of the bunch, 10 whole years, is most definitely asleep with dad in bed. Trying and failing to sleep for eternity. The gray Siberian fluff ball of a cat was named and picked by me. The name came from his green eyes that look like dragon eyes. I was like 5. Anyways I needed to get up soon and get ready for the day. I had a full day planned for doing things that I had procrastinated till the last minute.
“Aren’t you the cutest bean Radio” I had to give her some pets before getting up. It’s the law of cats if you have to move them. After finishing up my morning business of brushing my teeth, and hair, and using the bathroom, I followed the smell of breakfast in my pjs to my pops.
“Morning pops” I said as I gave him a hug from behind. Trying not to pull on his ridiculous long blonde hair. I don’t know how he styled it into that crazy Mohawk daily.
“Morning sunshine, how’d my baby sleep?” He gave my hands a squeeze before going back to making breakfast.
“Not too bad, I think the listening to that sleep playlist you gave me is really starting to help” Even though I’m adopted, I have a lot of similar traits to my dads since they adopted me when I was a couple of months old. The story goes my dad Easerhead was on patrol one night when a lady came up to him with a baby. She explained that she was in a lot of trouble with some bad people and she couldn’t risk having me get hurt in the process. So he brought me home and the amazing heroes Easerhead and Present Mic adopted me. I don’t know the full story but pops said that those were the most important details. That day they not only became my heroes but the best dads anyone could ask for. Shouta and Hizashi did everything they could to make sure I was safe and happy. They take turns training me with and without my quirks. When I need help with my hair and makeup Hizashi has no problem teaching me or helping me out. When I need quiet cuddles to decompress from school Shouta always has a space for me with blankets and hugs. They do so much for me and all I want to do is make them proud. I want to be an amazing hero just like they are.
I heard a door open in the distance and shuffling steps. Dad was up and heading in our direction.
“Morning” Dad came into the kitchen after giving me a forehead kiss. He walked straight to the coffee machine and turned it on before giving pops a hug and a kiss from behind.
Another thing I loved about my parents is how they supported each other. Hizashi knows Dad needs time to wake up, so he switches his singing to humming while cooking. Plus he’s wearing his Easerhead t-shirt that he wears to bed. Shouta knows how much dad loves affection so he holds him while the coffee machine does its magic wearing his god-awful pink sweats and Present Mic shirt. They are just lovey-dovey goofballs. Something I want when I’m older. It has been hard to think about dating and having the love story my parents have. Japan is filled with people who look different because of their quirks, yet I can’t over the fact that I don’t look like the other girls in class. The nature of my quirk means I have to be bulkier and eat more than the “normal” amount. It has been an issue for many years, my dads try to help but there is only so much paternal love can do.
“Hey kiddo, what do you have planned today?” I look up at dad as he sips from his mug.
“I have some last-minute assignments I have to finish before you’re my teacher tomorrow.”
Tomorrow I start in the famous Class 1-A, thanks to my dads I got in through recommendations and placed 4th in the exam. It was a fun day, it really was the start of my journey. Plus listening to pops scream and yell that he was proud of me is always a win.
“Did you finish your hero suit pumpkin?” Pops said as he set the table for dinner.
“I finally finished it last night, I am still really worried about the overall design, but I like the colors I ended up with.” Yum, pops makes the best breakfast.
“I’m sure it will look great pumpkin.” Pops said as he ate.
After breakfast, we all went about our day each doing our own thing. My dads worked on their lesson plans for the upcoming semester. I spent the day resting and catching up on the assignments I needed for tomorrow. I know how my dad works and I wanted to go ahead and start those dumb “first day of school” assignments. If my dad had a choice he wouldn’t give them but he is already making us miss orientation for his famous test. As the rest of the day went on I kept thinking about what school was going to be like. I really wonder how UA is going to be different some my previous school life. I hope I can actually make friends and not feel like the odd man out.
My last day was spent hanging out with my dads and getting ready for tomorrow. I think they could tell I was nervous about school cause we spent most of the night before bed cuddling on the couch and watching movies. Together with my dads and all the cats, I began to relax and even get a little excited about what was to come.
I was going to learn very soon that I was going to meet some very interesting boys that were going to change my life for the best.
