It was a hot summer day in 1972 when five teenage girls walked into the dusty old music shop at the edge of Diagon Alley. Mary Macdonald, Marlene McKinnon, Dorcas Meadowes, Lily Evans, and Pandora Lovegood had all been friends since childhood, and they shared a love of music that brought them together.
Mary, who had always been drawn to the guitar, picked up a beautiful cherry-red Stratocaster and began to play a few chords. Marlene, who was always the loudest and most energetic of the group, jumped behind the drum set and began to pound out a beat. Dorcas, who had a voice that could shatter glass, began to hum a tune, while Lily, who had been classically trained on the piano, began to improvise a melody. And Pandora, who had never been interested in playing an instrument, suddenly found herself drawn to the microphone and began to sing.
As they played together, something magical happened. The girls’ individual talents melded together into a beautiful, harmonious sound that filled the room. They had never played together before, but it was as if they had been meant to all along.
From that moment on, they knew they had to start a band. They called themselves The Valkyries, after the powerful female warriors of Norse mythology. And thus, a new music era began.
At first, they played small gigs at local bars and coffee shops. They were just a group of girls having fun, but they quickly gained a following. People were drawn to their energy and passion, and it wasn’t long before they were playing bigger venues and opening for more established acts.
It wasn’t always easy. They were all still in school, and finding time to practice and perform was a challenge. But they were determined to make it work.
Emmeline Vance, Mary’s girlfriend and the group’s de facto manager, was the driving force behind their success. She booked their gigs, managed their finances, and made sure they always had a place to practice. She believed in the girls’ talent and was determined to help them achieve their dreams.
Alice Longbottom, their PR agent, was also instrumental in their success. She was a natural at networking and knew how to get the band’s name out there. And, of course, there were the boys.
The Marauders were their biggest rivals. James Potter, the lead vocalist, was the charismatic frontman of the group. Peter Pettigrew was on drums, while Sirius Black played guitar and Remus Lupin was on piano. Regulus Black, Sirius’ younger brother, was their manager, along with Evan Rosier, and Barty Crouch Jr. managed their PR.
They were constantly competing with each other, playing at the same venues and trying to one-up each other with their performances. But there was also a mutual respect and admiration between the two groups. They were all musicians, after all, and they shared a passion for their craft.
Mary and Emmeline’s relationship was the worst-kept secret in the band. They were inseparable, and their love for each other was obvious to everyone who knew them. Sirius and Remus were also together, and they had become something of a power couple in the music scene.
Regulus and James had been dating for a while, but they were more low-key about their relationship. Barty and Evan were also together, and they were always the first to show up to support the band at their gigs.
And then there was Pandora and Lily. They were the only members of the band who weren't interested in dating or relationships. Pandora, she's cupioromantic so for now she was happy to focus on her music and didn’t need anyone else to complete her. She was a force all on her own.
Lily has always been a hopeless romantic, plenty of people have fallen in love with her but she's waiting for the one as she says.
However one day after a performance a secret is revealed that could ruin both bands reputation and destroy everything they worked for…
