Chapter Text
He has been around since before the beginning of the universe, and likes to see how different life forms react to different things. He’s been all over the universe, in many different galaxies, but the one that's the most interesting planet to him has been what the inhabitants now call Earth. He arrived when they were still cavemen, and were exploring their world. He’s watched these beings create things, and learn different ways to communicate. Occasionally, when one of his favorites start dying, he will wait with them and accompany them to his brother, Death.
Some of the other inhabitants have seen him when he appears to help with this, and they started calling him The Observer. He does not know why these creatures can see him sometimes, nor does he know why he never steps in to help or stop anything. He just likes to watch.
Then, one day, he suddenly felt a tugging in his soul, and the next thing he knew he was in front of a great many people. He was so startled that some of his powers leaked out of him, and granted different people different abilities. He tried to take them back, but few still managed to escape with these new powers. They were not noticeable things, just small things, like a slightly better memory, or being able to see the full color spectrum. They were able to hide these abilities, and pass them on through their bloodlines, until one day a glowing baby was born, and people started to speak out about their abilities, and slowly, ever so slowly, the powered people grew in population while those unpowered slowly receded in numbers.
He has tried to rid the world of his summoning rituals, as this is the first, and only, place to have done so. But instead, people kept changing it. They kept summoning him, and asking him questions about the universe. He does have so much knowledge in his head, and he has been so lonely. So he decides to share it with only those who wish to do good. It is hard to come by those types in the early years, only finding a few, truly, good people. He was summoned by a brother, to help him escape, to tell him how he could stop his elder by any means necessary. So he led people to him, locked inside this room, and they helped him escape. He told the younger of what his power really was, how he could transfer it and it would collect the souls and quirks of those it passed on to and keep getting stronger. And then he left.
The world has strayed from its original path, and it's his fault, but nothing has happened to him. He starts to wonder, if maybe, he can help this world more. However, when he tried to help the sixth holder of the power, he was unable, something held him back when he tried to give just a little more power, or touch the elder brother, or anything, something stopped him. So he was unable to give more powers to those already powered, he was unable to touch people, or anything else, but he could still share his knowledge. He started to practice molding his form, trying to find a more calming appearance, and waited for somebody to summon him. He watched over all the users, and watched them all die to the hands of this man. He watched, as the eighth was forced to give his power away with no explanation to the closest person to him, and go off to die. Leaving the world in shambles and trying to go back to normal. That was when it happened, somebody who desperately wanted to help those they care for, and keep them safe, summoned him, asking for help.
He appeared in his true form, first, and listened to the small mammal plead his case. He had many children, and many adults, under his care. He wanted to know how to protect them, how to keep them safe, and how to get rid of all the threats towards them in the world. So he revealed his calmer form, and asked a question in return, for the first time ever.
“Would you give me a job?”

Nedzu was worried. The villains have started growing bolder, and smarter, and just keep attacking his school. It started with the USJ, All Might was supposed to be there so the villains had attacked it. Nobody knew who they were, or how they got there, but suddenly this class of first years was being attacked. We were lucky that nobody died. Toshinori started furthering his search for a successor, going through every single class, and finding many who he thought would be capable, but none that the quirk called out to. Then, the summer camp happened, and Toshinori was forced to give his power to the closest student to him before he lost it, Bakugou.
They all watched, as All Might fought hard, and lost his power. They watched as All for One killed him. He would’ve killed Bakugou had Eraserhead not arrived and removed his quirks long enough for the other heroes to get the children away. They almost lost him, too, if not for Endeavor, Hawks, and Gran Torino. UA became a boarding school, with barriers made out of electrical currents and nobody allowed off-campus without prior notice. The families had the option to move in, if they wished, and many took up that offer.
Now, Nedzu had a child who was trying to learn how to control a brand new quirk, sixteen years too late, and with no mentor. All the students who were there when All Might died, were required to attend a minimum of a month of therapy. And wasn’t that something, not only was Bakugou kidnapped from the summer camp, but then we almost lost another five students because nobody was watching them.
Nedzu doesn’t know what else to do. The only option that he could think of, was to summon The Observer, and hope he met the qualifications and was able to get something out of it. He was prepared to sell his soul. He needed to know how to protect his students and staff. He needed to learn how to get rid of All for One, and teach the newest holder of One for All. So he researched, and he practiced, and he experimented, and learned, and made all the preparations. He made sure he was the only one in the main building before he started the summons, and that was when he started the ritual.
Now, Nedzu was terrified. He was terrified of this giant eye of a creature, glowing green and black with galaxies shining in its pupils. But he spoke through his fears and talked about the world. He explained how he needed help, how he needed to protect those close to him, and how he just didn’t know what to do anymore. Then, the creature changed. It morphed, and instead revealed a young man.
He had bright, neon green eyes, but the pupils had stars shining inside of them. His hair was a forest green, fading into a deep black at the roots. He would have passed for any other person on the streets, except his entire body was too perfect; perfectly symmetrical, perfectly clean, perfectly straight. When he spoke, however, it slightly echoed and his eyes seemed to shine even brighter, revealing stars in the pupils there, too.
“Would you give me a job?”
He does not know how it came to this.

They spent a long time talking. The moon was starting to rise when they started, and now the sun instead was breaching the horizon. They talked over logistics, plans, everything they could think of to teach the new generation of heroes how to survive, how to live, and how to thrive. They came up with a fake name for The Observer, for the students and other teachers to call him. They did not make any documents to prove his existence, they were not planning on showing him to the public. He would be the school's secret. He was unable to touch people, could not attack villains to protect the students. But he could shield them. He could enhance the barrier around UA, and he can always reveal his true form to protect the heroes in training if need be.
Midoriya Izuku, new History teacher at UA High School. He would share as much knowledge as he can during class, of both the past and the present.
