Someone In Your Corner

Summary:

A conversation between Peter and Wade <3

Work Text:

Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man, sat on the edge of a tall building, his legs dangling over the side. He had been feeling down lately, and the height made him feel a little better. It was almost like he was floating above the world, watching everything happen below him.
He heard a noise behind him and turned to see Deadpool approaching. Wade Wilson, as he was known outside of his superhero persona, was wearing his signature red and black suit and carrying a large bag.
"Hey, Spidey! What's up?" Deadpool said, walking over to join Peter on the edge of the building.
Peter didn't answer right away. He just stared out at the city below. Deadpool didn't seem to mind the silence, though. He just sat down next to Peter and opened his bag.
"I brought us some snacks," Deadpool said, pulling out a bag of chips and a six-pack of soda. "And I got us something else, too."
He reached into the bag and pulled out a small bottle of pills. Peter's eyes widened when he saw them.
"Deadpool, what are those?" Peter asked, his voice shaking a little.
"They're just some antidepressants," Deadpool said, shrugging. "I figured you could use them."
Peter shook his head. "I can't take those. I'm already on medication for my depression and anxiety."
Deadpool frowned. "Oh, I didn't know that. Sorry, Spidey."
Peter sighed. "It's okay. Thanks for trying to help, though."
They sat in silence for a few more minutes, munching on chips and sipping their sodas. Deadpool kept stealing glances at Peter, noticing how tense he looked.
"Hey, Spidey, you wanna talk about it?" Deadpool finally asked, setting down his soda can.
Peter shrugged. "Not really. It's just been a rough couple of weeks."
Deadpool nodded. "I get it. I've been there, too."
Peter looked at him skeptically. "Really? You seem so... upbeat all the time."
Deadpool shrugged. "I put on a good act, guess. But I've had some dark times, too. You know that."
Peter nodded, remembering some of the stories Deadpool had told him about his past.
"I just feel like I'm not doing enough," Peter said, staring out at the city again. "Like no matter how much I do, it's never enough."
Deadpool put a hand on Peter 's shoulder. "I know that feeling all too well. But you're doing the best you can, Spidey. You're saving lives out there every day. That's more than most people can say."
Peter sighed. "I know you're right. It's just hard to see it sometimes."
Deadpool nodded. "I get it. But you gotta keep trying. And if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here for you."
Peter smiled weakly. "Thanks, Wade. That means a lot to me."
They sat in silence again, watching the city below. Eventually, Deadpool stood up and stretched.
"Well, I gotta go," Deadpool said, picking up his bag. "But let's hang out again soon, okay?"
Peter nodded. "Yeah, that sounds good."
Deadpool gave him a pat on the back and started to walk away. But then he stopped and turned back to Peter.
"Hey, Spidey, one more thing," Deadpool said, looking at him seriously. "Promise me you'll take care of yourself. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health, okay?"
Peter nodded again, feeling a lump in his throat. "I will. Thanks for looking out for me, Wade."
Deadpool gave him a wave and disappeared over the edge of the building. Peter sat there for a few more minutes, thinking about their conversation. He knew he still had a long way to go in terms of his mental health, but he also knew he didn't have to face it alone.
With a deep breath, he stood up and jumped off the building, shooting webs to swing through the city. He didn't know what the future held, but he felt a little bit better knowing that he had someone in his corner.
