Earth: a planet most space travel guides consider “a decent stop to use the bathroom”. On this planet lives its third most intelligent species, humans. Humanity has wondered what lies outside the solar system for thousands of years. The universe is big. Like really, really big. There had to be unbelievable things out there: like a planet covered in milk or a planet made of cheese or a third dairy-based planet. One of the biggest questions has been about the existence of extraterrestrial life. Did life exist on other planets, or was humanity alone?
In 1950, the physicists Enrico Fermi, Edward Teller, Herbert York, and Emil Konopinski were chatting during lunch. The subject shifted toward UFOs and the existence of aliens. Dumbfounded by the high probability of extraterrestrial life yet lack of evidence, Fermi blurted out, “But where is everybody?”. Nearly 30 years after the conversation between the four physicists, humanity had come in contact with extraterrestrial life. However, this resulted in a barrage of annoying alien antics. Luckily for humanity, most of these antics were localized to a small town in Japan.
The town of Tomobiki is home to many colorful characters. Everything from the world’s strongest high schoolers to a giant ghost cat. Out of all these people, one of the two most peculiar is the unluckiest and horniest man in the universe. Ataru Moroboshi, known to many people as “The Human Cockroach” due to their similar near-invincibility and intelligence, has an infamous reputation. His passion in life is women. Every day of his life is dedicated to lusting after girls. Any free time he has is dedicated to “girl hunting”. He asks out every girl he can find, hoping they’ll say yes to having tea with him. But he’s content with only learning their name and phone number. In addition to having the libido of a dozen horses on aphrodisiacs, he is also a weirdness magnet. 99 percent of the town’s strangeness can be traced back to him. Whether conjuring an imp from a mirror or discovering an underwater kappa kingdom, the world’s oddities always find their way to him. But his most notable catch has been the other most eccentric person in town.
Unlike most residents of Tomobiki, Lum is an alien. In a town filled with people with unique abilities, she stands out by being the only one able to fly and possess electric powers. Aside from her oni horns, green hair, and tiger-striped bikini, she showcases a much bigger quirk. She is the only woman in the universe who seems to love Ataru. For someone as desperate for affection as him, this should have felt like a once-in-a-billion lifetimes opportunity. But, for some odd reason, it is the exact opposite.
The greatest mystery in Tomobiki is why Lum stays with that idiot, slob, liar, good-for-nothing lazyass, and cheapskate Ataru. Despite his unfaithfulness and apparent disinterest in her, she still loves her “darling”. Even the dimmest residents are perplexed by what she sees in him. His feelings for her are unclear. Based on his hobby of girl-hunting and obsession with every girl other than her, it would appear he couldn’t care less about her. However, occasionally, a nugget of love is found in a mountain lechery. Maybe one day, they’ll figure their shit out.
Information About The Fanfiction:
-This is my first fanfic. I hope you enjoy it.
-This fic will take greater inspiration from the manga than the anime (no Stormtroopers, sorry).
-Lum's normal eye color is amber and her hair color is green. Her hair will also change color when she uses her electric powers.
-The story takes place before the introduction of Inaba and the final chapters/ movie.
