“Come on, I need to fix this. The party starts in 3 hours and then everything needs to be fixed.. I have promised to give him a good birthday party."
Hermione was stressing out.
It was Marcus' 30th birthday and she had planned a big party. They had celebrated birthdays alone just the two of them for so many years and now she wanted the party to be big. She did so for one reason. She had happy news for Marcus.
“Yes Mrs Granger-Flint,your suspicions are correct.“
The words from the healer's appointment rang in her head. She couldn’t believe it. They had tried and then gave up trying. The healers and doctors had said it was not gonna happen. She had too much damage to her reproductive system. Plus that Marcus had a low sperm count.
She had known for almost 2 weeks for sure. During these weeks she had managed to fix a party with the help of Pansy.
“Do you remember when you and Marcus met? And I'm not talking about school, because that doesn't count."
"Yeah I remember, Pansy, how could I ever forget."
The wedding was in full bloom. Harry and Draco were finally married. They had fought to keep Draco out of Azkaban and somehow succeeded. It had cost lots of donations to different charities and war rebuilding funds but it had worked. Now, a year after the final battle, they finally had their wedding. It was actually a nice one. The ceremony had been filled with press and ministry people. Harry was after all “the saviour of the Wizarding world”. But the reception itself was just family and friends. Hermione had broken up with Ron and he moved to America afterwards. He couldn't stand Harry and Draco being together and him and Hermione not. The only Weaslys that attended the wedding were George, Percy, Charlie and Bill with his wife Fleur.
“Excuse me, can I have this dance?" Someone slurred and Hermione laughed and actually said yes.
She got on the dance floor and surprisingly enough the drunk man could dance. They danced for a while before Pansy came and took her away.
“ Do you know how you are dancing with?"
"No but he's an amazing dancer even though he is really drunk?"
Pansy started to laugh so much that she snorted.
“THAT my dear friend is Marcus Flint.”
“WHAT? That's Flint? TrollFlint?"
"Yes the one and only, He's not that much of a troll now is he?" Pansy smirked.
Two days after the wedding, Marcus had sent Hermione an owl and apologised for his behaviour at the wedding and asked her out on a date. She accepted and they had started to date. When she turned 20 Marcus had proposed and a year later they got married. A small wedding with just friends. Both of them wanted children and Hermione didn't see a problem with combining kids and work. She didn't want to become a Molly Weasly but 2 or mabye 3 kids? She could definitely imagine that. She worked for Draco or in one of Dracos companies. She did research on potions, how to help different creatures and had just started to work on a new muggle studies curriculum. But no kids came…
“Hermione hello? Come back to earth."
Pansy called on her and she came back to the present. Pansy took care of everything except for balloons. Hermione wanted to have birthday balloons but for some reason they didn’t exist in the Wizarding world. So now she was running around in Muggle London trying to find some. She also wanted to get an ultrasound scan so she could give it to Marcus.
She got her scan, went to the party store and got birthday balloons and a “it’s a baby” balloon. She couldn’t get them home so she asked the store to deliver them. Luckily enough she and Marcus lived in a house that had entrees to both the Wizarding world and the muggle world.
She went home, fixed the last of the stuff for the party, she and Marcus had gotten dressed just before then the guests started to drop in. Adrian and Percy, Harry and Draco, Pansy and Neville, Luna, Charlie and Theo had also come. Sadly Bill and Fleur couldn’t make it.
The muggle doorbell rang and she ran to open the door. The party had already started and she was mad that the balloons were late. Marcus came just a few steps behind and saw all the balloons at the same time she did.
He just gasped, “is this true? We’re having a baby? “
The stupid store had delivered 29 it’s a baby Ballons and 1 happy birthday balloons, not the other way around…
