Oh mother, did you ever love me? When I was born did your face light up? Did your love for me make that big man in the sky cry? Did you decide you’d do anything for me, even die? A love so big he just had to make a star for me? As bright and light as your love for me? Bite, kick and scream. An angry face staring as you berate me. Bury me with your sins, flaws and failures. Drowning me in your sorrow, burning me with your pain. That light now so dim you’d never believe it had been so bright.
