Groudon's Day Out

Summary:

After a messy fight between Groudon and Kyogre that left the Hall completely speechless, which also left the Queen of the Sea broken to tears, Groudon decided to embark on a grand journey, a journey where he will meet perils, his skills challenged and his morality tested so he can atone for his sins.

Or a journey where Groudon tries to buy Kyogre a gift as a form of apology because can't swallow his pride to say it to her face.

But luckily his conscience starts to getting the better of him, which might lead him to many a good decision throughout the day.

Will Groudon change? Or will he be stuck in the pits of pridefulness forever?

Chapter 1: Groudon Fucks Up

Chapter Text

In a strange world filled with supernatural creatures, creatures with powers with untapped potential, creatures that all vary in appearance and sizes, creatures that could very well cause massive destruction yet they are held high and in prestigious regard by the very humans that live alongside them, humans who befriend these beasts and forge friendships and everlasting bonds that will span across their lifetime, for such special beings, also deserve a worthy title, for these creatures are called Pokemon. These Pokemon are tied with the elements that give them their unique quirks and qualities that give them their identity. Some humans use Pokemon as everyday companions that help them in their daily lives, some use Pokemon for their combat prowess, battling in a league to reach the top and be the best, like no one ever was. But these Pokemon are simply just the everyday Pokemon one would normally encounter, out there, are a faction of exceptional Pokemon, Pokemon that are held even above prestige, a pantheon of deities and gods with power that greatly exceeds beyond our comprehension, brave people journeyed through, in hopes of finding these ancient and powerful creatures, and when the moment they thought it was in their sight, only a mere glimpse was gifted for these powerful beings before they vanish. These formidable embodiments of the world, they were called Legendary Pokemon.

Legendary Pokemon, their power lived up to their namesake, ancient legends with stories passed down through generations, they were said to have a role in creating the world of Pokemon as we know it, from the concepts of time and space through the elements of land and sea, some would even say that back then their power was considered so divine and godlike that they were revered, worshipped by the people to pay respect and give appreciation for who they are and what they did.

These legendaries are usually found around their respective regions, fulfilling their roles given to them by the Almighty One. Though one would consider that they simply roam everyday, in truth, there would be days where Legendaries would travel and gather in one place. Out there in the vast sea, lies a gold and white structure, built on an island unseen by any normal human or Pokemon. This is the Hall of Origin, while the true Hall of Origin is situated in the Sinnoh region, this was instead a place where Legendaries around the world would gather to discuss various affairs that were currently taking place in their respective homes, or that is what any sane man would think. In truth, the Legendaries are indeed the revered and worshipped creatures they are depicted as, but along with it, are tons of personal baggage, chaotic displays of personality, varying levels of maturity, and an unearthing of how Legendaries, as powerful as they are, are simply victims of sentient emotions like anyone else, all characteristics that would be perceived as unbefitting of their stature, as such in this particular story, we would be taking a look at one of them, watch and understand how they act in the everyday normal life, what they think, what they feel and what they do, this magnificent and peerless chosen Legendary’s name was -

“LIZARD FACE!!”

“FISH BREATH!!”

“BASEMENT DWELLER!!”

“FAT BITCH!!”

“Are they seriously at it again?” A black-draped creature with flowing white hair stated as he moved a chess piece on a board.

“Ancient rivals will be ancient rivals Darkrai, no matter how childish it can be.”, An alien-looking creature replied, orange covering its body with a gem embedded on its chest.

It was just another day at the Hall of Origin, Legendaries strewn around, enacting their daily lives, whether it would be simply relaxing, chatting with fellow legends, reading a book, playing chess or arguing with someone over a bag of chips.

“I took that bag of chips out of the drawer and placed it on the table because I needed to do something else and then I came back only to see a fat whale  gobbling my chips!”

“How was I supposed to know it was yours you fucking lizard-brain!”

“Oh, so you just take random chips placed in Arceus knows where and take it for yourself?”

“No, I only do that to you.”

“SO YOU KNEW IT WAS MINE YOU WET TAMPON!!”

Zekrom sighed. He was reading a book and it was a good book at that, and while normally unfazed by the two elephants currently arguing in the room he admitted that it was getting to him, he glanced to his right and saw Darkrai and Deoxys playing chess wondering how they can also be unfazed by the current situation,” probably another intense match.” , he looked at his left and saw Suicune, Reshiram and Cresselia happily chatting with each other, another sigh escaped his maw, slamming his book shut, he stood up and started walking out of the living room that was being too much of its namesake.,” I should probably read this without two children interrupting my free time.”

“AHA! Checkmate you son of an Arcanine! I win again!”

“ARCEUS DAMMIT!!”, Darkrai cussed as he picked up the chessboard and threw it across the room.

”Skill issue,” Deoxys mocked.

”Shut up Deo! I’m just off my game,” Darkrai retorted.

“Sure you are, that or you might wanna stop banking on those “skills” you learned from watching that guy in a badly dressed Lieutenant Surge cosplay,”

“Oh just shut it!”

The two then proceeded to have a slight back and forth, mimicking the current bigger fight happening in the same room, though the two did find an end to it, which left room for thought for Darkrai to wonder where was the chessboard he threw a while ago.

“Hey where’d the board go?”

The two then suddenly heard a door open revealing a green serpentine snake entering the room.

“Hey guys, have you see Girati- *SMACK*

Darkrai’s face fell, “Ah, so that’s where it was,”

The flying chessboard hit its target, smack right dab in Rayquaza’s face, he let out a small hiss, picking up the chessboard, and started looking around, wondering who was responsible, and with a menacing glare, his eyes landed on two Pokemon, one looking away and the other staring back at him.

“Shit, he’s doing the thing again!” Darkrai panicked.

Deoxys scratched his head, ignoring his friend’s remark, “How the hell did the board just land right now?"

“Is this yours?” Rayquaza said with a deep monotone voice, Darkrai turned his head and saw a pair of yellow eyes staring down at him,

If Darkrai had teeth, they would be furiously chattering right now.

“Y-yes,”

Though Darkrai was commonly feared by many, his signature move Dark Void, coupled with his violent past, made sure the fear would stay, but he, and most of the legends knew that a pissed off Rayquaza was way worse and is easily the scariest thing to ever witness, even worse, to be in the receiving end of it.

“Here.” Rayquaza said.

Suddenly, all of Darkrai’s anxiety and worries were washed away and were replaced with feelings of comfort, mentally praying to Arceus that the Sky Legendary didn’t blast him with a point-blank Hyper Beam in the face.

”Phew, so you’re not mad?”, Darkrai asked.

Rayquaza sighed, ”I really don’t have the time to be, when entering this room means immediately hearing two children fighting over something stupid.” Rayquaza turned his head towards Groudon and Kyogre, he let out another sigh, cursing something under his breath he flew towards his two counterparts, intending to break the fight between the two.

“YOU OWE ME CHIPS YOU BLUBBER FEST”

“SAY THAT TO MY ASS YOU BARBER HAIR CLIPPER.”

As Rayquaza flew towards the two he began wondering how these two ended up like this, back then, it somewhat made sense where they fight over territory, he’d come down from the ozone layer to end the fight and he’d do the same song and dance until the moment where their fighting has gotten at its worst state, it was the moment he knew he had to take drastic measures, unbeknownst to him that it would also be the moment where Mega Evolution would be birthed upon the world, he set the two straight with the strongest Dragon Ascent he has ever performed, putting the two titans to sleep, where their primal states eventually laid dormant. It would be another thousands of years before they were woken up once more, he was initially worried that their past quarrels would resurface, but he would surprised and equally stressed, as he watched as their fights slowly devolve from world-ending fights, to almost world-ending fights, to petty squabbles over something insanely trivial.

“SELFISH PRICK”

“DUMB IDIOT”

“Arceus this is getting worse.” Rayquaza cleared his throat and let out an ear-deafening roar inside the living room. Every Legendary currently residing inside the room covered their ears, except for Deoxys who was seemingly unfazed by the dragon’s roar.

”How are you able to stand still and not go deaf from that?” Darkrai looked at his alien friend.

Deoxys shrugged. ”Let’s just say I got used to it.”

Deoxys then turned his attention to the Weather Trio, “Deaf ears or not, I'm more worried about those two.” he said, pointing at the now-dead silent land and sea Legendary.

“Why, why, why are you two like this. Every day is the same Arceus damned scenario where you two fight and I break it up. I'm surprised I haven't lost my shit at this point.” Rayquaza roared.

Groudon and Kyogre looked at each other, both knew what they had to say, ”Sorry.”

And you should be, please just for the rest of this day can both of you just not. I’ve got other things to do so I'm asking you to act with common decency.” Rayquaza tiredly said.

Groudon and Kyogre held their heads down like children being scolded by their parents, Rayquaza huffed at the sight, seeing them at their current state, he would pity the both of them, if the display wasn’t pathetically sad. He let out a stressed growl, eyeing the entire living room for a moment, before he flew out and left. He pinched his head, already feeling a mild headache coming. ” I should probably get another mental massage from Latias.”

Groudon and Kyogre looked at one other again and both gave each other the finger. (claw? flipper??) As they walked away, both decided to relax for a bit and chose to sit on a couch…..

On the same couch that is.

The two scowled. A full moment of “peace” between the two occurred for a moment, the two still glaring until Groudon broke the silence.”You know there are a bunch of other couches here in the living room right?”

“So what?” Kyogre shot back.

“I'm saying that maybe you should move your fat ass somewhere you know I saw this couch first.” Groudon retorted.

“Are you stupid? You know I saw it first.

“DID NOT!!”

“DID TOO!!”

A collective groan came from Darkrai and Deoxys, who have resorted to lazing on a nearby couch, a cruel timing that fate has given them, as they were now even closer to the loud tantrums of Groudon and Kyogre.

Lazily falling on the floor, Darkrai clutched his head, letting out another groan. ”When will this nightmare end, Deoxys? Surely as the Pokemon that embodies it, I don't deserve this, right?”

Deoxys, who was lying down, face planted on a pillow, let out a muffled groan.”I don’t know dammit, I don't give nightmares, you do! So why ask me??”

Darkrai in response, groaned even louder, earning an annoyed look from the alien.

“You two look horrible.”

Deoxys and Darkrai quickly shot their heads up, looking around as they wondered whose voice that was.

“Behind you.”

The two looked back and were greeted by the sight of their newcomer, a large white creature with wings that had a blue under belly, with a pose and demeanor that radiated a regal aura.

”Ah Lugia, good to see you.” Darkrai groggily said before lying back down on the floor again.

Lugia raised an eyebrow towards his fellow legendary.”Did he drink five bottles of beer again?”

”No, but if you’ve been in this room for 5 seconds you would immediately know why we're like this.” Deoxys replied.

Lugia shivered. Upon entering the living room, his ears were immediately blasted by the loud sounds of arguing from Groudon and Kyogre, he frankly wanted to leave immediately right after. ”Yes, I understand, but why not just get out?”

Deoxys grumbled, he was an idiot for not thinking of that earlier, but resorted to just blaming Groudon and Kyogre’s antics for making him lose some brain cells, he turned to Lugia and asked. “What are you doing here anyway?”

“Well, I heard Ray scream and decided to check it out if it was something gravely serious.” Lugia said, which was accompanied by a heavy sigh as he pinched the bridge of his nose, “Guess it wasn't.”

Deoxys then proceeded to lie back down on the pillow-laden couch he was on, his eyes wandered around, and saw more of his fellow legends now residing in the living room. Victini and Mew raced around the room, Dialga joining Reshiram, Suicune and Cresselia’s conversation,Yveltal and Solgaleo awkwardly playing ping-pong as they used their beak and mouth respectively to handle their paddles,  and Zapdos who was who was calmly perched on a post,

Noticing the slight gathering, Zapdos flew down towards Deoxys’ and the others.

“Yello everyone!”.

“Oh great, it’s Big Bird and his annoying presence,” Deoxys drably stated.

“Geez, moody much?” Zapdos shot back.

Deoxys gave the electric bird a scowl, accompanied by an eye glow.

”Ok, ok sheesh, calm down.” Zapdos rebutted, he looked around and noticed Darkrai on the floor who was now doing motions with his hands and Lugia overlooking behind the couch.

”Hi dad!!” Zapdos waved his wings at the Sea Guardian.

Lugia nodded back, ”Hello son, how are you?”

“I’m fine, though I'm not sure if these two are,” Zapdos said, pointing at the flailing Darkrai and Deoxys’ scrunched up face.

Lugia chuckled at the current display, “ That’s good, though I'd like to chat more, I should be leaving, added with the fact that I can’t stand a minute longer in the vicinity of two children arguing, I also can’t miss Ho-oh’s dance rehearsal at Ecruteak,  you know how she gets, though, will you be comfortable staying here Zapdos? You are invited if you wish to come with.”

Zapdos pondered in thought for a moment, “I think I can manage, Bye dad!!” he cheerfully said.

“I see, well I’ll be seeing you lads.” Lugia stated as he flew off,

”Yeah, I guess.” Deoxys grumbled, sighing once again, he fell in the pillows, he thought of getting out and going somewhere else, and maybe drag Darkrai with him to who knows where, but he was too exhausted to even move an inch.” Maybe something interesting will happen.”

Groudon and Kyogre, who were now standing in front of the couch, continued their trivial dispute.

“Oh yeah well look at these gains. Ya think you got these?” Groudon said, flexing his arms and puffing up his chest.

“How about you go outside and gain some bitches instead!”.Kyogre snapped back.

“YOU KNOW I HATE BITCHES”

“THAT'S IT!!”

Dialga, who had ceased her conversation with her fellow legends a while ago, now looked at the escalating fight, she valued Kyogre as a dear friend, she was calm, caring, serene and benevolent to her subjects, yet underneath that, was a warrior who would not hesitate to use force, to come crashing down like a savage Water Spout to ward of any threats that might befall the waters she governs, traits that befits the Queen of the Sea, traits that she liked about her. But she can’t help but wonder and be concerned why her friend does a complete personality shift whenever she was in the vicinity of her land counterpart. ”We should do something about this.” She looked around the room, trying to find someone who can help her.

Her gaze eventually landed on Deoxys who currently had his head buried under a pile of pillows. She channeled her telepathy towards her alien friend, hoping to find some form of collaboration from him because Arceus knows he, and everyone else are tired from all of the arguing.

Deoxys.”

Deoxys raised his head. Feeling rather sleepy, he looked around trying to find who was talking to him telepathically, he looked around for a few more seconds until he eventually found Dialga staring at him, assuming she was the culprit he channeled his telepathy back at her, wondering what she wants from him.

What do you want, long neck”

“Mood,”

“Just get on with it”

“I propose we subdue Kyogre and Groudon with our attacks.”

“I don’t know, not really feeling like doing anything at the moment, can’t you just like, stop time? and put the two of them in a ditch or something.”

“Deoxys, you know I can’t use my full extent of my powers here , Mom puts restraints on us and I can be in very great danger if I ever so decided to slightly tamper with time for something so trivial!”

“And I am also in very great danger if I leave this very comfortable couch for 5 seconds, my poor back and all ya know?”

“Oh is that so, would it be a shame if my dear Palkia knew about that incident from Unova, you know? The one with Landorus?  You know how he can have a loose tongue about….things”

Deoxys tensed up. He remembered that day clearly, Zekrom invited him to go to Landorus’ place along with his brothers and Terrakion. A few cans of Raining Hurricanes later and everything went to blur. ” Pudding….so much pudding.” Deoxys shivered from that thought.

“How did you eve- Alright alright I'll comply, what do you want me to do?”

Dialga smirked. She knew a good blackmail will always get anyone under anyone’s command. Roar of Time, Psycho Boost, ready?”

“Alright.”

The two started charging their attacks with all the intent of stopping the escalating fight between Groudon and Kyogre, and right before they got to fire off their respective attacks, they however,  did not expect the next thing to happen.

“YOU INFURIATING DIM-WITTED DINOSAUR, I WONDER HOW YOU STILL HAVE FRIENDS!!”

“YES, I STILL DO! BECAUSE YOU’RE NOT AROUND TRYING TO PISS ME OFF!!”

“FUCK OFF AT LEAST I’M NOT A SENSITIVE BITCH THAT DOESN’T THROW A HISSY FIT EVERYTIME ONE OF MY  FRIENDS TALK SHIT ABOUT ME!”

“SENSITIVE? SAYS THE ONE WHO COOPED HERSELF UP ON HER CAVE FOR WEEKS BECAUSE SOME DUMB HUMANS TOOK CONTROL OVER HER, I GOT BACK RIGHT UP AFTER, BUT GUESS WHO CRIED HERSELF TO SLEEP BEFORE SHE EVENTUALLY GOT OVER IT! THAT’S RIGHT, IT’S YOU! AND YOU WANNA KNOW WHY THAT IS? IT’S BECAUSE YOU’RE NOTHING BUT A WEAK-WILLED, PATHETIC EXCUSE OF A GOD THAT ARCEUS DOESN’T WANT TO DO ANYTHING WITH!’

The whole room went silent. Everyone was shocked and appalled from Groudon’s comment, the entire Hall knew of the short incident with Team Magma and Aqua a couple of years back, Both were reawakened from their dormancy and were left in an uncontrollable state that caused a rampage throughout the Hoenn region,  and in their hazy bloodlust, both met once again to reenact their ancient battles, where the whole world was supposed to end until Rayquaza flew down to quell their fight once more.

The land and sea legendary were shaken up after that incident, waking up back to the world only for their minds to be seized and rendered incapable of controlling themselves causing damage and casualties to their homeland was not a pleasant experience at all, Groudon quickly got back on his feet the next day after, while his counterpart did not fare well and needed a few weeks to heal. It was a touchy subject for the both of them, but Groudon, being a certified “epic legendary” had no qualms on using something so  controversial and traumatizing to gain leverage against his counterpart. Inconsiderate, harsh and idiotic for someone to say.

The fact that he used Arceus’ name to belittle Kyogre.

And that was all for a bag of chips too.

*FWOOOOOOSH*

Groudon was flung into a wall,  forming a hole through it that left a water trail that followed him, Kyogre was completely justified to blast him with a rage-induced Hydro Pump, tears streamed through her eyes, and then she left, seething and cursing many obscenities that loudly rang throughout the room.

Dialga and Deoxys, with their attacks fading, just stood there flabbergasted at the sudden turn of events.

”You should probably go check on her.” Deoxys said, nudging Dialga on her leg.

”I will, but first I need to have a….. talk, with fellow Groudon over there."

--------------------

“Aggghh,”

Groudon groaned in pain, he hadn’t took an attack like that in a while, so the lost familiarity of said pain got even worse, but something was telling him he deserved it, that he knew he fucked up a lot by saying that, he might have eve n regretted it, partially due to the fact that he was writhing in pain after taking a Hydro Pump in the chest, but he wasn’t gonna admit it to anyone, especially her, because he was too prideful for that, so in the end, he decided that he was right and wasn’t taking that back, but deep down something was telling him that he was wrong and he knew that he hurt her deeply

He looked up and saw four angry females gazing down upon him with murderous glares that would make a Quillfish pop. Reshiram looked down at Groudon, her anger lived up to her Fire typing as she emanated steam from her fur  while Suicune and Dialga simply looked at him with disgust.

“That was a real dick move meathead.” Dialga spat out, furious at him for hurting her friend.

“Chill out, she’s not that sensitive, she can take it!“ Groudon retorted back, trying to reason with the raging Goddess of Time, though that backfired immediately as he was met with a loud roar from Dialga.

“Have you seen how she looked earlier?! You’re fucking pathetic to even say such a thing.” Suicune snapped back, Suicune wasn’t the one to utter obscenities, but in the heat of her anger, she’ll slip a word or two.

Reshiram started charging a Blue Flare to blast Groudon with, until Cresselia put herself in front of her and the others.

“Ladies, let’s calm down and not go further with more violence.'' Cresselia calmly said. She was mad too, but her pacifist nature prevented her from even thinking of doing something violent to her fellow legendaries.

Suicune simply huffed and walked away and so did Reshiram after baring her teeth with fire escaping from her maw towards Groudon.

“You better apologize.” Dialga threatened the land legendary before she teleported out of the living room.

Darkrai watched as the three legendaries disperse from the scene, sensing a perfect opportunity to double down on Groudon’s expense, he decided that he will do just that,

“Well dunking down on him further sounds fun, you coming Deo?”

Darkrai turned his head and saw that his alien friend was also gone too, though not completely, as Darkrai picked up a note that Deoxys left on the ground, he opened it, expecting the contents to be anything but the words he will read in the next second.

“No”

    -Deoxys

“Could have at least said it in my face,” Darkrai complained as he crumpled the note and dissolved it with a Sludge Bomb.

--------------------

Groudon suddenly started feeling better. He slowly opened his eyes and saw Cresselia  using Heal Pulse on his chest, specifically where the Hydro Pump had hit him. “Thank you Cress…” he thanked her, grateful for Cresselia’s nature of helping Pokemon, even assholes like him. “ Me? An asshole? Pfft, yeah nice try conscience.”

“Don’t mention it.” The Dream legendary responded, there was a small silence between the two, it would be a few minutes before Cresselia decided to clear the silence out.

“That wasn’t very nice of you,”

Groudon didn’t reply, which didn’t bother Cresselia all that much, as she went on and continued healing him.

Groudon groaned again in pain. Although he felt it less this time, he laid down there for a moment, acquiring a moment of peace, unfortunately, that peace would be short lived as he saw Darkrai floating in, giving him a mocking smirk as he crossed arms.

“I would have expected Kyogre to flood the Hall, but I guess you pissed her off that much that she directed all of it to you, so in a way, good job Groudon,” Darkrai mocked, as he motioned a thumbs-up towards him.

“Shut up.”

“Look, I just came here to check on you….. And I also came here to make fun of you.”

Groudon growled, “Bastard,”

“Hey, I’m not the one who used a traumatic experience against someone so they can win an argument over a bag of chips, calling me a bastard seems ironic,” Darkrai retorted.

Groudon pulsed red, magma started pooling in the outlines of his body.

Darkrai would have gone further with his heckling if it were not for his counterpart giving him a side-eye that bore a look of  “Don’t make this worse”.

“Darkrai…” Cresselia sternly spoke.

The Nightmare Legendary knew that tone was no good, so he quickly apologized. “Alright, alright I’ll stop, sorry about all that, but truly, I am genuinely concerned for you.”

“Right, heckle me first and say something genuine after, thanks for that I guess.”

“Hey c'mon, out of all the Pokemon inside here, I’m the only one who actually came to see if you were alright, at least be grateful.”

“Yeah, yeah I get it.”

“Tch, ignorant as always.”

“The fuck did you just sa-”

“Alright, enough!!” Cresselia cut the two off. “We just had a recent fight that ended with someone being flung into a wall, we don’t need another one! Do.You.Understand.” she exclaimed, stressing the last part towards the two, a mixture calmness and anger laced in her words.

” Yes ma’am.” The two quickly replied.

“Great!” Cresselia said as her threatening demeanor abruptly changed to something more cheerful, “Groudon, you should be fine for now but maybe try taking a rest first before you do anything, *sigh* well I’ll be seeing you, and please, don’t get yourself into trouble again.”

With that small reminder, Cresselia took her exit, leaving Darkrai and a still on the floor Groudon.

“Guess I’ll be seeing you then?” Darkrai said.

 “Yeah…”

Darkrai nodded, “Alright, take care,”

A dark portal appeared beneath the Pitch-Black Pokemon, shadowy energy swirled about until he was consumed by it, vanishing into thin air.

Groudon watched all of that play out, his eyes narrowing as a single thought crossed his mind.

“That was too fucking dramatic for my taste,”

Groudon took one last groan before he stood up, brushing off the debris on his chest and knees, he walked out of the hole he made and towards the exit, he noticed Deoxys wasn’t there anymore, but he did saw Zapdos and Yveltal calmly roosting as they were perched in the room’s many bird-oriented perches, and Solgaleo, who was now sitting down reading a book. He simply huffed at the three and finally left.

As the door closed, the “roosting” birds opened their eyes, revealing that they were completely faking it the entire time, an act they had to put to reduce the risk of aggravating Groudon, the three looked at each other in silence until Yveltal broke it.

“Bets on you two that he actually apologizes later.”

“You’re on baconator!!” Zapdos replied, eagerly taking on the bet.

“I guess I don’t have a choice about it, I’ll take you on that bet baconator.” Solgaleo added in as he smirked.

“STOP CALLING ME THAT!!”

--------------------

Groudon slowly walked around the many halls of the Hall of Origin. Outside, he certainly looked normal, someone who looks like he’s got shit together, but inside?

Total.

Fucking.

War.

His mind fought with him, like a feral battle between a Durant and a Heatmor, his conscience roared many things at him like, was he really wrong? Ok, maybe he went a tad overboard with it, when he saw how hurt she looked, he admitted that he felt guilty. Maybe he should just say sorry right in her face. “Fuck no, I can’t swallow my pride like that, especially in front of her.” Or maybe he could go out and buy something for her so he won’t have to directly, he could just give it and get out and not have his pride shattered to splinters,  “BINGO!! Oh Groudon you are a genius!!.”

His once slow walk turned into a slight sprint, excited in a way, as he was ready to enact his plans for the day, he continued to sprint until he eventually got a crossing in the hallway, where he was abruptly halted by a cheery yet mature voice greeting his ears.

“Going out somewhere Groudon?”

He turned around and saw a smiling red dragon with long jet-like wings protruding from the sides.

“H-Hi Latias!!” He yelped, surprised by her sudden appearance, “Yeah I'm going out, what about it?”

“Oh nothing, I just wanted to talk to you about a certain matter,”

“Pfft, alright, lay it on me,”

“I heard about the thing with Kyogre, that was…. quite fitting of you if I would say,” Latias stated.

Groudon’s face fell, “Oh,”

Latias’ joyful look suddenly morphed into a frown, “You know, you should keep track of what you say sometime, otherwise you might get hit back by your own vices, and everyone’s view of you would completely sour."

“Yeah, yeah, four of your friends already made the point, three threatened murder, and  one was tolerant enough to help my ass, anyways can I go now? Rayquaza doesn’t like it when I'm around you.”

“Oh please, he knows you won’t try anything on me.”

“Fair enough,” Groudon said.

He would have went on his merry way if he didn’t see Latias staring at him, eyes full of life yet intently grasping his soul like one of Giratina’s generals.

Groudon winced, “Would you quit staring, it’s starting to scare me,”

“You could say I got it from the best.” Latias said, giggling at her friend’s statement about her. “Don’t worry, I was just messing with you. Well, good luck with whatever you're buying for Kyo, and take care while you’re at it, I’ll be seeing you,”

Latias then flew out, leaving Groudon confused. “How did she even-” It took him a few moments before it finally clicked. “Oh right,” he groaned.

“Psychics,”

Groudon stretched his arms as he walked out from the marble door that led to the front garden, a variety of greenery that met the gaze of anyone that would leave or enter the sacred Hall. White and gold cobblestones as walking grounds that cemented the place’s beauty and regality, which was accompanied by a view of the vast sea, the sounds of crashing waves and flowing winds were a soothing melody for anyone that wanted to relax. But Groudon wasn’t here to relax, he had a mission and that mission was to apologize to someone.

Creating a portal in front of him, he took a breath, taking a moment of silence to mentally prepare himself for his herculean task, one slap in the face and words of encouragement from himself.

He was now ready.

“It is a nice day for a day out.”

Route 11: The Desert Ruins

As Groudon stepped out from the portal, he immediately felt the rough sand under his feet and the violent desert winds hitting his body. He figured that before he completely started this journey, he needed to consult the close friends that he truly trusted. And while his fellow legendary friends were worthy of trust to some degree, most of them paled in comparison to the faith that he put in two very special Pokemon.

He took a small walk in the vast plains, catching a glimpse of Mirage Tower in the distance and a few, small Pokemon under the sand fleeing away from his massive presence. After a few minutes, he halted at a small hill with a single cracked boulder at the very peak. If he remembered correctly, this should be the place.

Groudon bellowed out a loud roar.

“GENERALS, TO ME!”

A moment of silence struck the area for a few minutes. Groudon then felt the ground vibrating and the winds growing stronger, eventually turning into a full-blown Sandstorm. He was naturally unfazed, being the God of Land and all that. He saw the ground below him explode and out came a vicious-looking Garchomp that performed a little acrobatic spin before landing, piercing the sands with its fins as he did. The sandstorm meanwhile, started to disappear and a Flygon phased through like it was one with the sand itself. As the two finished their entrance, they bowed their heads toward the Legendary.

“Good day, Master Groudon!”

Groudon sighed. He had already told the two to stop addressing him so formally yet they still persist and insist. While a little boost in his pride and ego for being revered as the God of Land was appreciated, sometimes he just wanted to be seen as any other Pokemon.

“Good day to you too, Rajaion, Ena, and please we’ve talked about this many times already, just call me Groudon," Groudon stated with a huff.

The Garchomp and Flygon, Rajaion and Ena, looked at each other. Ena raised her eye to her partner, signaling him to talk. Rajaion rolled his eyes toward his mate but caved in and spoke up.

“Well, you are the creator of lands, our elements as beings of the earth are lesser than you. We simply think it's inappropriate to address you as such. Besides it would feel, erm, weird to call you by your name like a common friend.” Rajaion explained.

“Am I not your friend?”

“Well, um, yes you are Master! It’s just that I mean-”

“Well call me Groudon then, friends call each other by their names,”

“If... that would please you, Master- Groudon…"

Groudon laughed, "That's the spirit!"

The Garchomp would then find himself in a tight, crushing hug from his master. While he certainly knew his species' sturdiness was not a laughing matter, Groudon's strength did not follow the ordinary.

Rajaion gasped for breath, falling to his knees on the sand as he violently coughed.

Seeing the Garchomp's less-than-stellar predicament, Ena raised their concern.

"Your presence is welcoming, Groudon, but is also troubling. Is there another threat?”

“No, there isn’t, in fact, everything is fine and dandy! The reason I’m here is because I would like to uhh...” Groudon rubbed the back of his head, hesitant to say what was on his mind.

He eventually caved in.

”Ask for… advice...”

Rajaion and Ena dropped their maws. Their master? The Creator of Land himself? Asking two common Pokemon for advice? Rajaion was completely stumped that someone as prideful as Groudon would ask for help and Ena would have asked if this was a joke everyone knew Groudon’s jokes were terrible so she begrudgingly had to accept the situation.

“A-advice? From the two of us? Surely we do not have the wisdom you need,” Ena said, still baffled from earlier and trying to oppose Groudon’s request.

“Nonsense! With a long-lasting bond like you two, I'd figure you'd know a thing or two about solving problems," Groudon explained, grinning sheepishly.

Rajaion sighed. He thought that further reasoning with him would be futile, It was Groudon after all. He spoke up, complying with his request.

“If you feel like we are the right people for your dilemma then we would be happy to help. Would our place be suitable for us to talk about this?

“Yep,”

“Alright then, follow us,”

The trio marched through the harsh landscape, the extreme conditions of the desert would have normally been problematic for the common people and Pokemon, except for Ground and Rock types. The three were heavily tied to the element itself so they were normally unfazed. This of course, with complete normalcy of their conditions, comes with complete silence. Groudon felt awkward and tense, unusual for a Pokemon of his stature, the silence between them wasn’t helping either and his only sense of comfort was the howling winds around them. Wanting to break the silence, he decided to strike up a conversation.

“So… how’s the old Gazan doing?” Groudon questioned.

“That old Camerupt is doing fine, he’s currently enjoying his retirement at Mt. Pyre,” Rajaion replied.

“I see.”

While Groudon and Rajaion conversed below, Ena flew above, ruminating on her thoughts. Groudon was a prideful Legendary and was never the one to ask for help unless he badly needed it. This situation was one she could not fully find a logical reason for because Groudon barely needed help and was fully capable of clearing any obstacle that was in his way. Was he beaten by someone? No, he was the pinnacle of brute physical strength so common Pokemon could not have beaten him. He was used to getting put down by his fellow legendaries in battle so it could not have been that. Maybe he was feeling sad? She would have slapped herself for even thinking that. Groudon was one of the most boisterous and joyful Pokemon she has ever known and even if he was sad, it never got to the point of him asking for help. Her mind raced with thoughts for possible conclusions until she was snapped from her thoughts when she heard the conversation between Groudon and her mate down below growing a bit too loud. Finding the opportunity to silence their noise, she flew down to ask Groudon her inquiries.

“So Maste- erm… Groudon, as we walk to our home, maybe you could share your problem with us?”, Ena asked with a tilted head.

“Well uh... There was this friend of mine that I was fighting and... I might have said something that uh... Shit how do I put this, that might not have flown well with them and I was wondering how to make them not feel bad again?” Groudon sheepishly replied

“Maybe you should try apologizing.”, Rajaion bluntly stated.

“NO! - uh, I mean yes, Rajaion, but I figured that wasn’t my style so my smooth brain decided to just buy them something they like instead,”

Rajaion raised his eyebrow. He wondered, for a moment, why he was asking him and his mate for advice when he already had a solution, “I see that you already had a solution in mind but why go to us in the first place?”

“Well yes but I still don’t know what the fuck am I gonna do with all of it so I came here for help because I uh…… I admire both of your qualities and I think your experiences can help me,” Groudon said, looking away as he hesitantly added that last part.

The Garchomp fell silent. Groudon just complimented both of them, right in their faces. He knew Groudon was never the one to be openly emotional about anything, so he was quite dumbfounded.

Ena chuckled, ” Oh my, well thank you Groudon, I didn’t know you admired us like that,” she said, teasing him a bit.

“Well, you two have been loyal to me all these years, proudly serving me and protecting Hoenn with no second thoughts. I've always had admiration, just never really openly said it” Groudon casually retorted.

The two Ground-types awkwardly coughed, still wholly unused from affectionate praises from the Land God.

Thankfully, any sense of further uneasiness was relieved the moment they spotted a unique rock formation from afar.

"Looks like we're near our destination. Let’s continue this talk later, ok?” Ena exclaimed.

Groudon and Rajaion nodded and resumed their march.

The trio of Ground-types eventually reached their supposed destination.  They found themselves near an odd rock formation, specifically five giant slabs of stone placed in a circle, which confused Groudon for a bit.

“So where are we exactly?”

“Just wait, Groudon, you’ll find out soon enough,” Ena announced.

Rajaion then walked towards the middle of the stones and stabbed his right fin in the sand. A moment of pin-dropping stillness permeated through the entire trio, furthering Groudon’s confusion. Fortunately, his questions would be answered as the ground below them shook and sounds of sand falling started airing throughout the area.

Groudon couldn’t still quite understand what was happening and stayed that way, completely oblivious to the fact that he was sinking beneath the sand by the second. Groudon eventually noticed his predicament and started to slightly panic. He called Rajaion and Ena for help, only to see the two ignore his pleas and dive gracefully into the sand. Groudon’s panic was replaced with a relieving confirmation, assuming this might be where they were supposed to be. He then tip-toed towards where his generals plunged themselves in and took a little step.

"...”

Nothing had happened as of now The Land God’s foot was still jammed inside the sinking sand, which made Groudon question how the former pair got insi -

“AAAHHHHHHHHH!”

Groudon was wholly sucked in and was currently falling into a deep hole. He kept screaming, his cries echoed around the stony walls as he felt the gushing wind blow past him. Groudon eventually touched land, causing a slight tremor as he crashed into the ground; luckily, his sturdy biology cushioned whatever physical aches he might have felt.

“We probably should have warned you about that," Ena said as she and Rajaion rushed to his side.

"Nope, that's on me for not using my senses," Groudon groaned.

He pushed himself up to stand and raised a brow at his generals, "So now what?"

The pair sighed in relief and urged Groudon to follow them.

The trio took a short stroll inside the sand-buried cave before eventually reaching a dead end. Groudon saw what looked to be a circular stone etched on a wall with a horizontal slit, creating an image of a doorway. Ena lightly knocked on the wall. Shifting and sliding slabs of stone behind the door were heard, eventually finishing its process as the Omega insignia glowed brightly on the wall and the door split in two, allowing the trio to enter.

“We're home!” Ena announced.

As Groudon entered the cave, he was met with a large clearing in the middle with ornate carvings etched on the long winding walls. Multiple holes were embedded in the sides providing residence for the many, Ground-type Pokemon living among the caves. His gaze eventually fell on a Claydol, who was squirming in the corner, seemingly trying to wrangle something.

Rajaion tilted his head, “Rollo are you-”

“AHA! I finally got you, you little rascal!”

The three were surprised when the Claydol suddenly revealed a Trapinch surrounded with pink psychic energy, floating in the air while kicking his feet. The Trapinch, seemingly unfazed by his current predicament, simply babbled upon seeing his parents in front of him.

“Gra bah bah bah,”

Ena grabbed her child and gave him a small lick and a nuzzle, cooing at him afterward.

"Did you miss me my little Kurth?"

The Trapinch happily rambled at his mother. Rajaion looked at his mate and child and smiled at the moment; shifting his thoughts, he turned to the drowsy Claydol, who was half afloat and almost on the ground.

“I assume everything is alright here, Rollo?”

*Yawn* Yes, Rajaion, everything is fiiiine - zzz ”

“Rollo,”

“YES! Rajaion?”

Rajaion sighed, "Rest,”

“Yeah, I probably should,” Rollo exclaimed. He slowly floated away until he found a corner and plopped himself down.

Groudon blinked, simply watching the events unfold in his eyes but he did find it amusing.

“Eherm,”

Groudon turned around and saw Rajaion calling for him, “Ena already went ahead to fix up our residence, follow me,”

The Land God followed the draconic shark, throughout the middle of their stroll, Groudon was met with stares from some of the older Ground-type Pokemon around him, murmuring something about his sudden appearance.

“What’s he doing here?”

“Did the humans do something again?”

“Oh, I’d tear them in half if they ever did something again to Master Groudon,”

Groudon grimaced. He never knew, let alone be slightly aware that those under his rule could have this... edge to them. The incident with Team Magma and Aqua did not do any favors for the humans and their actions could have furthered their bias against them, which certainly set a bad precedent. Groudon obviously knew all humans aren’t horrible, it was pretty clear to him that there are good and bad ones out there. He knew they were capable of genuinely amazing things, big and small, while also having the capacity for the most heinous and vile atrocities that would make a Swalot look appealing.

He can't deny he had his biases too. His short yet memorable time with a human certainly had a hand in it. He saw how brave the boy was and how he stood in the face of danger to stop his and Kyogre's rampage; not only that, he saw his great love for his Pokemon and the people in his life. It impressed him, completely showing how these beings he once considered ants were capable of such warmth.

Those Pokeballs are way cozier than I expected,”

“We’re here,”

Groudon snapped from his thoughts, realizing he was at Rajaion and Ena’s quarters. He went inside the hole that served as an entrance and was met with a somewhat homey image. Some wooden appliances were present in the room. But the main part that got his attention was the intricately carved stone furniture placed across their abode.

"Damn, those look good, I wonder how they made that,”

He brushed aside the thought and wandered around. He saw Ena tending to her child and Rajaion preparing a plate of berries, placing it on a table-shaped rock.

“Sit down, make yourself at home,” Rajaion motioned.

Groudon heeded and grabbed a handful of Oran Berries from the plate.

“So Groudon, you need help buying something for your friend as an apology gift. Is that right?” Rajaion questioned.

“Yep!!”

“Might we perhaps know who this friend of yours, Groudon?” Ena said.

Groudon started to sweat and blush. They can’t know he’s actually doing this for his accursed rival! His reputation shall not be desecrated!

“Well, who is it?” Rajaion inquired.

Groudon grumbled as he gazed away, trying not to say anything.

Ena sighed, "Groudon we won’t be getting anywhere if you don’t say anything,”

She tucked in Kurth for his nap before joining them at the table. Groudon persisted in his avoidance of eye contact. Rajaion shook his head while Ena chuckled at Groudon’s antics.

“Groudon, please speak up or we’ll have to force it out of you,” Rajaion tensely exclaimed.

“Dear let’s not try and not do that, OK? Groudon must be shy about it” Ena said, affectionately rubbing a claw on his back fin.

“I understand, but it is a simple question. It would seem fruitless to-

“Dear try not to lose your temper again,”

“I’M NOT!!”

Groudon looked at the two back and forth. He’d seen the two bicker a lot in the past and the times it escalated were… horrifying to say the least. Trying to stop the two from furthering their fight he finally blurted out the one thing he dreaded to say.

“IT’S KYOGRE OK!!”

Rajaion and Ena stopped for a moment and looked at their master. Groudon was blushing madly and by the looks of it, was already regretting saying anything.

The Flygon snickered.

“Ah, I see; well you are always at odds with Lady Kyogre so I guess it’s not surprising that you would have gone to the point of genuinely hurting her, Rajaion said, motioning his fin below his chin.

“What the hell do you mean by that!!”

Rajaion flinched, “How would I put this, well you see-”

“Master Groudon, If I may. What Rajaion meant to say is that you are inconsiderate of other’s feelings and your ego and pride are too high to the point where you’ve convinced yourself that you’re always right and everyone is wrong and you're always in denial when the truth is said to your face,”

The three looked at the entrance and were surprised to see Rollo hovering about.

”WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT YOU STAPLED PENGUIN?!” Groudon rebutted. An irritated look was present on his face.

“Case in point,”

"GRAAAAH!!”

“Groudon, please calm down; you’ll wake up Kurth,” Ena asserted as she put herself between the two Ground-types. Groudon glanced at the sleeping Trapinch and immediately calmed himself down. He then glared at the Claydol, silently commanding for an explanation.

Rollo blinked all his eight eyes and resumed staring at him blankly, nonchalantly knowing that he’s got Groudon in the corner.

“Well, it looks like Rollo bravely took the words out of my mouth, and apparently added more than he should,” Rajaion continued, mumbling the last part of his statement.

“Groudon, I’m afraid I would have to agree with Rollo here,” Ena added with a sad look.

Groudon snarled. The only Pokemon he thought he could trust was going against him, ”Tch, why did I even come here if all of you are just gonna talk smack about me! Heck! Why the fuck did I think about going with this plan anyway! That’s it I'm ou-”

“Eherm, before you leave let me add this Master Groudon. The fact that you decided to do all of this for someone you have hurt in the first place, which is for your most hated rival no less, is in short, commendable and shows that you are trying to refine yourself,”

“Huh?”

“Your conscience, Groudon, your conscience is saying you’ve done wrong even though you are not admitting it yourself, and the fact that you are trying to apologize to Lady Kyogre is you trying to be better as a Pokemon,” Rajaion added.

“So you’re saying that I'm doing something good?”

“Yes, Groudon,” The Garchomp replied.

The Legendary shrugged, “Well if that's how you put it then,”

Ena brushed beside the behemoth, gently placing a claw on his arm, "Besides, what Rollo said isn't entirely you per se. We see how you act around us, and it's wholly different from the uh... usual front you put up with the others,"

Groudon grunted, somewhat dismissing and acknowledging her remark.

Rajaion coughed, “And you normally would not have done that for anyone else, unless you actually care about her wellbeing and possibly might have feeli -”

“NO! NOT AT ALL. CAN WE PLEASE GET ON THE PART OF HELPING ME!!” Groudon panicked, trying to sway Rajaion from saying anything out of line.

“Right, Ena, can you take this one?” Rajaion motioned to his mate, who cheerily smiled back at him.

“Well Groudon if you are buying a gift, don’t just simply buy random things on what you assume she would want. Be considerate, be thoughtful so you can give her something she would truly appreciate.” Ena explained as she ate an Oran berry from the table

“That’s the problem, I have no idea what she likes!”

“Well, you should probably ask the people who know her,” The Claydol exclaimed. He hovered over a spot and settled his weight for a seat.

Groudon winced, remembering the events from the hall earlier. The angry eyes of the three females glaring at him were still fresh on his mind, and he was, frankly, still terrified. Brushing off that thought, he looked at Ena and spoke up.

“Well, unfortunately, most of her friends pretty much hate me, three of them tried to kill me earlier FYI,”

“Surely there must be some that you know that won't immediately resort to murder when they see you,” Ena stated.

Groudon then started thinking of the Legendaries who were close to that so-called "Queen of the Sea"

Dialga

Groudon was running away from the Goddess of Time, who had a soured expression and gleaming red eyes. As Groudon continued to run, he narrowly avoided a Roar of Time that lightly grazed his side,

“LOOK I WON’T TELL PALKIA OK!”

Reshiram

“Hey, Reshiram! What’s that small tuft of fur in your crotch again?“ Groudon said, pointing a claw at Reshiram’s, admittedly awkwardly placed hair between her legs. Reshiram looked aghast, and anger began boiling on her features. The next thing Groudon knew, a Fire Blast struck him right in the face. The dragon then left while smoke billowed out of her nostrils.

“Did I said something wrong?”

Suicune

“Woah Woah chill Suicune! I didn’t mean it like tha - *FWOOOSH*

Suicune fired a Hydro Pump, intentionally missing Groudon, which was enough to send the message

"What did you mean then?” Suicune growled.

“Ok fine I'm going sheesh,”

Everyone else

Celebi fired off a Leaf Storm, chasing Groudon away from her garden.

Latias innocently smiled at the Ground-type, who was moving away in fear.

Groudon tip-toed around Ho-oh trying to get by without her noticing. He was almost successful until he felt a tap on his shoulder,

“Oh, h-hello Ho-oh.”

“Groudon? GROUDON!”

Groudon was snapped from his flashback and found Ena snapping at him. He recollected himself for a moment before speaking up on the matter.

”No, I don't know anyone,”

"Hm, this could be difficult,” Rajaion said.

Groudon slumped against a wall, feeling defeated, maybe he should apologize to her, ”Gaah fuck no I won't. If I have to suffer the entire day for this shit then so be it!”

He stared into the distance. A fire lit up in his eyes.

“It won't be hard! This is Groudon you’re talking about! Creator of the Land, and no hard thing has ever stopped this bad boy!”

Rollo, Ena, and Rajaion looked at Groudon and then at each other; all three of them simply sighed, in complete understanding of their master's antics.

“So, are we done here?” Rajaion announced.

“Yep!” Groudon replied

“We wish you luck!” Ena added in.

Groudon whistled and twiddled his claws, “Yeah about that. I’m going in disguise and I want to be certain I come back in one piece so can I ask a favor?”

“You want us to go with you?” Rajaion questioned.

“If you are willing,”

“I’ll go with you,” Ena beamed.

Rajaion turned to his mate, surprised at her willingness. Ena stood proudly beside him, wings stretched and hands on her sides.

“No no no if you’re going, I’m going,” Rajaion quickly uttered.

The Flygon nodded, "It’s set then. Rollo, would you be fine being in charge again?”

The Claydol looked at Ena and at the sleeping Trapinch. He drooped and sighed.

“......Yes,”

“Great, we’ll bring back something for you!”

“I’ll go ahead so go prepare whatever you need,” Groudon declared at the couple.

Groudon removed himself from the premises and trekked back toward the entrance.

Rajaion and Ena went outside the cave and looked around for their master.

"Do you see him?" Rajaion said as he held a fin above his eyes.

The Flygon enclosed her goggles and began her search.

"There he is!"

There was a man in the distance, completely still and waiting. The two walked up toward him, where they would gaze upon a look they hadn't seen for quite a while.

He had red spiky hair with a rough mullet fashioned around the back. He wore a sleeveless navy blue shirt and a red jacket patterned with yellow stripes wrapped around his waist. Gray baggy pants adorned as his leg wear, coupled with a pair of red and green sneakers containing a single yellow stripe slapped at the side. Finally, a necklace hung around his neck that featured a small circular crystal with his signature omega symbol embedded in it.

The man turned and the two Dragon-types were greeted by a pair of bright golden eyes that held a certain warmth. The man smiled and brought out two Ultra Balls.

“You two might wanna get started getting used to being inside this again,”

Rajaion and Ena exchanged looks and nodded. They leaned their heads on the devices' button and were captured inside.

Groudon stared across the desert for a good few seconds before taking a deep breath. He exhaled, anxiously preparing himself for what journey he was about to embark on. He was still unsure why he was doing this in the first place but deep down, it might be for a good reason.

He opened another portal, and let out a low chuckle, quietly saying something to himself.

“Here we go,”

Notes:

We are so back.

I am here to tie up some loose ends, and this was the loosest of them all.

Notes:

I started working on this since March 19, 2022, a bit shameful of me to only post it a year later.

This fanfic was drowning in my docs before I got a renewed vigor to start working on this again, It took a bit of rewriting since most of the things I wrote back the was outdated, and you might see some of that here, but anyways.

Welcome to the Groudon Adventure!, I initially planned this to be the first I ever post in this series, but the Palkia one was way too funny for me to pass up so I wrote that first, that and the scope of it was way smaller, allowing me to write it quicker.

The plans for this fic specifically is I will try giving Groudon an arc that I can hopefully deliver with my average writing skills and a small set up for something I have in mind that may or may not pan out later.

Anyways, hope you had fun with this!
