Crayons are NOT on the menu!

Summary:

Lightbulb, currently regressed, thinks that crayons would be a nice snack while coloring. Paintbrush, her paba, does not.

Notes:

I am back from the dead! :D Senior Year really got me busy. It was nice to write something wholesome for once

Work Text:

Lightbulb felt absolutely content in her space. In her regressed mind, she could just stay like this forever; with her trusty crayons and activity book, being watched by her paba? It was like heaven!

Well, having her paba around would make it almost impossible for her to do what she was planning to do.

Pausing her little scribble session, the little girl looked at the blue crayon in her hand, checking on her caregiver to see whether they would catch her in the act. They seem to be a little bit distracted with a phone call, even if they’re sitting in her general direction - maybe it will be okay to get away with this. Keeping her eyes on her paba, Lightbulb slowly brought the crayon to her mouth, getting a thrill from the thought of getting away with something naughty.

“Ah! Crayon stays on paper, sunshine.”

Drats. Lightbulb pouted as Paintbrush caught onto her plans, scribbling on her coloring page of a whale. Why was it so wrong to put crayons in her mouth? It wasn’t like they would make her sick! Or maybe they tell her not to because they wouldn’t like losing them. But then crayons wouldn’t be that expensive, right? They could just get another box when she’s done having her snacky snack!

Once a few minutes had passed, the regressor decided to go through with it anyway and stuck the blue crayon in her mouth, turning away to hide her face. The smooth wax felt great when Lightbulb dragged her tongue, letting out a soft giggle as she grabbed another to continue coloring with. Finally, she stuck something into her mouth that wasn’t food or a paci. And it wasn’t immediately taken away either! A sense of pride washed over in her new confidence, swiftly stuffing that second crayon in her mouth as well.

Lightbulb couldn’t tell how much time had passed, but she jolted a little bit as someone tapped her shoulder. Turning around, she forgot that the now drool-covered crayons were still in her mouth, having no time to hide them as Paintbrush took them out of her mouth.

“If you’re not going to treat your tools nicely, I can’t let you have them.” They clicked their tongue as they gently pushed a blue pacifier into their little’s mouth. Lightbulb scrunched her face at them as she reluctantly took her offering, angry tears welling in the corner of her eyes.

“Ah, I have a stubborn little princess, don’t I?” Lightbulb squeaked in annoyance as her paba picked her up, dragging her body onto the bed. Sure, the soft blankets felt good draped over her back…but still, she had crayons to nibble on! It was no fair! The little squirmed madly until Paintbrush put her back down, grabbing at fuzzy, dull tangerine carpet before being properly sat up.

“Here, I have this book, we can read this together…” It was getting harder to understand paba with how young Lightbulb was regressing, but their words were still soothing as they guided her hands onto the textured parts. She could do nothing but coo behind her paci, weakly grabbing at the bumps and fuzz in front of her with content.

It really was a nice day being regressed.
