"Shuu," a soft voice whispered the name.
Gakushuu made a soft noise of complaint but didn't wake up.
"Wake up, Shuu~" the voice playfully whispered again, the owner of the hand playfully tugging at the sleeping person's hair.
"Why are you awake." Gakushuu groaned out sleepily, peeking out at the red head laying beside her with one eye.
Karma was laying on top of the covers, his hands tangled with Gakushuu's long hair. He gently tugged it again and Gakushuu pouted sleepily.
Karma smiled, leaning on elbow to plant a quick kiss on her lips.
"Karma, it's too early," she groaned. Then she subtly lifted her covers, looking at the other boy encouragingly. Or as encouraging as she could be at 4 am, when she wasn't supposed to be awake yet.
Thankfully, Karma seemed to be in an indulging mood instead of in one of the moods which made Gakushuu want to kill him. Those moods made her regret making the nutcase her boyfriend in the first place.
But well, it was a give and take, so they managed. Maybe the next time Karma wanted strawberry milk, he would get sour cream there instead, or maybe he wouldn't.
Karma grinned, throwing a jacket behind him before whipping in, under the blankets real quick. He didn't even let much of the cold air in, for which she was reluctantly impressed and grateful for.
Then he closed the distance between them, and her heart started speeding up and she remembered why sweet Karma was so dangerous to her.
"Hey babe," he whispered gently, wrapping his arms around her figure and pulling her in.
Almost instantly she started shivering at the temperature of his clothes. She was just glad he had taken off the jacket because boy was it cold.
He oddly politely kept his cold toes to himself, but brushed his nose gently down her cheeks and towards her ear.
It was cold. She shivered again.
She tucked her head under his chin, and he lightly rubbed his hands against her arm, warning them.
She sighed, a soft content noise. The smell of Karma, strong, solid and so very male, around her.
Karma's hand slowly caressed up and down her back, a steady rhythm that almost made her want to fall back to sleep. But she held back, even if just barely.
"Something happened," she murmured, the words barely a question. But Karma paused, knowing that if she wasn't immediately falling asleep, she had noticed his state. She didn't ask further, happy to just barely hover over the line of sleep as she waited.
Karma sighed.
"Mother came by," Karma replied softly. Gakushuu hummed understandingly. Then she nuzzled up to him.
"Sleep then," she whispered back, content with that answer. Karma kept stroking her back, up and down, playing with her hair occasionally, before going back down her frame.
A body that relaxed completely in his arms, even when he came at the most bizarre times. Karma placed a soft kiss on her forehead, enticing a sleepy murmur from her. Before he slowly started relaxing on the familiar bed.
Home was where the heart was, and his heart certainly wasn't in that cold empty house he called his own. Instead, it was in this warm room, comfortably sleeping in her own bed.
Already he could hear the main door closing shut gently, signifying her father coming back home from his run. He would work for a while before Gakushuu was expected to be awake and ready for breakfast.
Karma would wake up then and watch as Gakushuu got ready for what would be the last time, and then he would sneak out and go back to change into his own school uniform.
Graduation was in the morning, but it could wait a little longer.
For now, Karma would lay in bed and hold his girlfriend until reality told him he couldn't anymore.
