Months without Dani, all if that sadness, loneliness had finally come to an end. He was back in Leipzig after the World Cup, he was back home to Dani. His Dani, the most beautiful man on this planet, He could finally touch him, hug him, hold him close and let himself melt into that body underneath him. World Cup was great and all, he was proud of himself and his accomplishments, it felt good to have helped bring his country the bronze medal. Croatia was heavily celebrating their 2nd medal in the row and Joško celebrated with them, but all he longed for was Dani. That sweet smile of his, those gorgeous brown eyes squinting as he smiled, the lines of happiness on his face or his short hair that Joško loved running his fingers through.
All he could think was the older, finally being reunited with his favourite person ever. He is finally back to Germany, he enters the room slowly and loud cheers and clapping is all he can hear, it's nice. He likes the attention. Walking around the room he makes sure to greet everyone, many praises and hugs and back pats land on him, he smiles through it all. Mind only focused on one thing, the ultimate prize and the one he is really here for. Joško spots him, sitting in the chair, looking at him with those loving eyes and their gazes meet, the world stops, all the noise falls onto deaf ears, all the people fall onto blind eyes because all he can hear, see and feel is Dani. His Dani. The ultimate prize.
Those eyes, lips, his whole face and body. No amount of trophies could ever replace this, no gold shines as bright as Dani's eyes and smile do. He doesn't need the World Cup, he's glad they did well, but just looking at Dani fills him with such content and happiness the joy of the World Cup is the last thing on his mind.
When Joško enters the room Dani's eyes immediately fly to him, looking at the younger as he walked and greeted everyone. He had missed Joško so much, he'd been desperately waiting for his return, of course he was proud of Joško and his accomplishments, but he couldn't help but miss him. That smile, those eyes, his beard or his hugs. Everything about him Dani longed for, to hold him close and cuddle him in bed, to wake up to the soft kisses Joško loved placing on his neck, his hands exploring and touching his body with such kindness and love showering him in soft, gentle touches that left him melting into the embrace of the bigger.
Finally Joško is next to him, looking at him and smiling widely, those pearly whites, teeth that used to mark everywhere they could, biting and grazing over his skin as to show who Dani really belonged to. He was very aware of what Joško liked, biting and being bitten, the younger would do anything to have Dani's marks over him and mark Dani in return. It was something Dani found wierd at first, but learned to love how proudly Joško showed off Dani's marks, he wasn't embarrassed, he wanted everyone to know that he nor Dani weren't single.
Dani gets up from the chair and pulls Joško into a tight hug, wrapping his arm around the broad shoulders and smiling into his neck, the younger wraps an arm around Dani's upper back squeezing him against his chest and nuzzling his nose into Dani's shoulder. When they pull away Dani holds onto his arm for a little longer, clinging to him and Joško smiles.
He finishes greeting everyone, before making his way back to Dani and sitting down next to the older, they exchanged smiles and Dani can't help but notice how Joško looks at him, a small smile is playing on his lips and there's nothing but love and admiration in his dark eyes. He melts under his gaze as they stare at each other for a few seconds before someone rudely interrupts them pulling Joško into a conversation he clearly wasn't too fond off.
The younger plays it off well, keeping a gentle smile on his lips as he talks, Dani's hand finds his under the table, he takes Joško's hand in his squeezing it. He turns his gaze towards Dani, mouth stretching into a half smirk before he lets his fingers slip through Dani's, locking their hands in a tight grip, Joško brings the interlocked hands closer to him placing them on his thigh and Dani can't help but feel as barely noticeable blush burns on his cheeks. His thumb is massaging the back of Dani's hand and the older lets himself enjoy the peaceful moment, relishing in how Joško grips his hand, desperately and needy, trying to convey just how much he missed him through such a simple gesture.
Dani wasn't aware of how much he missed Joško until they were separated, he still vividly remembers the first time Joško had kissed him.
Spain had won 5-3 against Croatia in UEFA, Joško was there and Dani couldn't miss the disappointment in his eyes, he was still breathing heavily, his fists clenched in a tight grip, his jaw was clenched and his gaze was hostile as it fell over the field. He'd never seen his teammate so angry, Joško was the most composed person Dani knew and seeing him like this surprised the older.
Dani was happy with their victory and he celebrated with his teammates, singing and cheering, but still he couldn't shake the feeling of worry for Joško, so he finds himself leaving the locker room, ignoring the calls of his teammates, soon he's lost in the building unaware of his surroundings and where he had headed. Dani looks around trying to get a general sense of where he might be, his head snaps backwards when a hand makes its way on his shoulder, and there stands the person he was looking for.
"Dani what are you doing here?" He questions, a tiny bit of worry seeping through his voice, the older can't help but gently smile. "I was looking for you." He starts of placing his hand over Joško's on his shoulder. "You were amazing today, you should be proud of yourself." He grins, Joško stays silent, his expression is unreadable. Suddenly the younger pulls both of their hands off of Dani's shoulder, taking his wrist into a tight hold and pulling Dani of to somewhere.
"Joško- what the hell?!" He tries to pull from the iron grip. "Where are we going?" He protests pulling on his hand, but the protests fall onto deaf ears as Joško continues to drag him of. Now Dani really doesn't know where he is, everything seems unfamiliar.
Dani is abruptly pulled into a dark room, disorienting him. After a moment, the lights turn on, revealing Joško standing before him with a heaving chest and pressed against the door. Without warning, Joško takes a step forward, bringing the two of them uncomfortably close. Dani can feel Joško's breath on his face as he looks up at him, unsure of what to say.
His gaze drops to Joško's lips, noticing their pink hue and slightly parted form. A sudden involuntary swallow catches in his throat as he attempts to speak, but before any words can escape, Joško presses their lips together in a messy and uncoordinated kiss.
Joško is aggressive, rough, demanding when he kisses him, Dani had never seen this side of the younger, he was one of the gentlest people Dani knew. He's still shocked, hands pressed on Joško's chest, fingers entangled in his shirt. The younger's hand is holding his face, his hand is big, covering more than half of Dani's face, the other is settled on Dani's hip, squeezing it for dear life.
Dani is thoroughly enjoying the fervent kisses from Joško, who is kissing him with a lot of passion and intensity. His kisses are fierce and needy, he devours the older's lips like they're the most delicious thing he's ever eaten and he can't get enough. Dani's lips are being kissed with such eagerness and hunger that he can feel the bruises and swelling on them, but he doesn't mind it at all. In fact, he is savoring every moment of it and was completely immersed in the experience.
Then Joško pulls away, hands flinching back as if had been burned. He apologizes, once, twice a doze times Joško whispers apologies to Dani, the older doesn't answer, still trying to get into the real world. His lips sting and his eyes are half open, he wants to kiss Joško again.
"Forget all of this happened, I should help you find your team." Joško's voice is barely audible, and he's fidgeting nervously. He's clearly stressed and worried, and it's written all over his face. He's trying to avoid Dani's gaze and change the subject, but it's not working. Dani is understandably confused - after all, they had just kissed, and now the guy wants to run away?
Dani doesn't let him, he takes control and grabs Joško by his collar, Dani pushes him against the door and kisses him passionately, smashes their lips together and lets himself enjoy the taste of Joško. His hands are firmly holding Joško's collar, not giving him a chance to escape, and the younger doesn't want to. He melts into the touch, hands finding Dani's hips and he kisses him back, runs his tongue against the plush lips, savours the taste of the older yet again.
Dani pulls away, the heated make-out session ends and his grip loosened on Joško's collar, both of them are breathing heavily, their breaths mixing, lips not even an inch away from each other. Both of their lips are blood red, cheeks dusted pink and eyes half lined as they stand like that for a few seconds unable to move.
"I like you." Joško breaks the silence by speaking against Dani's lips, he smiles before erupting into laughter his grip on Joško's collar loosening even more as he pushes his face into Joško's chest trying to contain his laughter. "Such a shocker." Dani mocks with a huge grin on his face, Joško's gaze softened and he gently smiled before lowering his head and placing a gentle kiss on Dani's lips. This time it's innocent, soft, timid as if he was a high-schooler kissing his crush for the first time and Dani melts, smile spreading wider as he pecks Joško back.
Dani's face flushes as he remembers their first kiss or rather kisses. They started dating not too long after the incident, only to be separated at the foundation of the World Cup. He was hoping to stay in the World Cup with Joško, but it didn't go to plan, Spain was out and Croatia stayed, Joško would call him anytime he could, at first it was all football talk, but gradually the desperation to see, feel and kiss him was their main topic. Dani didn't like to hear Joško hurt, but it felt good to hear he wasn't the only one desperate for their reunion.
He knows his face is red, he can feel the blush burning on his cheeks and he lets go of Joško's hand. The younger's gaze immediately shifts to him and Dani excuses himself. "I'm tired, I'll call it a night." A nearby teammate groans, and they complain about Dani who simply shrugs and leaves.
Not even 15 minutes later, Szoboszlai is calling him, it was getting late, so he hesitantly picks up, a tired, worn out, and sort of annoyed voice is heard on the other side. "Yo Dani, can you come help me out, Joško's dead drunk, and I don't know what to do with him." He complains and now Dani's worried, Joško could hold his alcohol pretty well, often he'd joke it's due to his 'balkan genes' so this meant that Joško drank quite a bit, why would he do that? Dani gets he's happy to be back, but that doesn't mean he should get drunk out of his mind dammit.
He grabs his coat, pulls it on, and rushes through the door, he was disappointed at Joško, but he isn't about to leave him alone. He's there in minutes, and he sees a drunk Joško clinging to Szoboszlai a dumb smile spread on his lips. The tiniest bit of jealousy bubbles inside of Dani's chest as he approaches the two, as soon as his eyes land on Dani Joško basically throws himself at the other, hugging his head tightly. "Can you take it from here?" The other asks and Dani pushes Joško just a bit and nods.
He manages to drag the drunk man to his car, finally, after a minute of trying to shove Joško's large body into the passenger seat he collapses in the car, Dani follows soon after, sinking into the driver seat and exhaling out of exhaustion. A hand grabs onto his chin and turns his head to the side, Joško kisses at his lips desperately and Dani wants to close his eyes, to lean into it, instead he pushes Joško back into his seat. "Stop it, you're drunk."
"I'm not." The younger answers with a smirk. Dani doesn't believe him, any drunk man would say he isn't drunk. "Yeah, suree." He mocks and Joško’s eyebrows rise. "I'm really not, I haven't touched it." Dani shakes his head and puts his hands on the steering wheel when Joško leans over and kisses his cheek, he kisses all over Dani's face and finally his lips are near Dani's, Joško lets out a sigh and his breath doesn't stink of alcohol, instead, it smells of chocolate. He kisses Dani again, deeper this time and all Dani can taste is sweetness.
He pulls away, and grins sweetly. "I wanted to go home with you, but they wouldn't let me go."
"So you decided to act drunk?" Dani whispers, he doesn't trust his voice after the passionate kiss. Joško smiles nodding his head. "They were too busy talking to notice I didn't drink anything, I just knocked a glass over and acted a little clingy. They bought it in a second."
Dani chuckles before erupting into soft laughter, he places a hand over his mouth in disbelief amused by the younger. "I may have also begged Szoboszlai to call you." He admits scratching the back of his neck, his smile grew even wider as he leans close to Joško, pecking his cheek before starting the car.
The car parks in front of Dani's apartment building and Joško doesn't wait a second, he pulls the older close, kisses his forehead, eyelids, his chin and his adams apple, everywhere he can reach, a slight redness appears where Joško's bristles brushed against Dani's skin, Joško runs his open palm against the redness and Dani smiles. "I should have shaved." Joško mutters guiltily and Dani immediately shakes his head, taking Joško's face into his hands and pecking his lips. "I always liked it." He admits, it's true, his facial hair suits him perfectly, especially since Joško takes great care to keep it neat.
The night is long, they have a lot to catch up. And neither waste any time in doing so, as soon as both of them are out of the shower kisses, touches, making out. Hands exploring anywhere they can, touching, groping, feeling, remembering, desperate, fast, passionate.
When Dani wakes up, he doesn't know what time it is, his hips and legs hurt, neck and collarbone scattered with love bites and hickeys. He snuggles closer to the broad chest in front of him, Joško is not anybetter either, his neck is full of Dani's love bites, back decorated with scratches from Dani's fingernails and hair messed up when Dani pulled it.
It's perfect, all of this and Dani never wants to leave his embrace, melt into the body in front of him, become one with him and never let go. He knows that's impossible, but a man can hope can't he?
For now all he does is push his face into Joško's neck, sighing out comfortably and smiling as the younger's arms tightened around his waist pulling him closer.
