INT. LOGAN'S OFFICE - DAY
Tom sits at Logan's desk, looking down at his hands. Greg enters the room.
GREG
Hey, Tom. What's going on?
TOM
Hey, Greg. I need to tell you something. Shiv and I are getting a divorce.
Greg looks surprised, but concerned.
GREG
Oh, Tom, I'm sorry to hear that. Are you okay?
Tom shrugs.
TOM
It's for the best, I think. We've been drifting apart for a while now. But it's still tough.
Greg hesitates for a moment, then takes a seat in one of the chairs opposite Tom.
GREG
I'm here for you, Tom. Anything you need.
Tom looks up, meeting Greg's gaze.
TOM
Thanks, Greg. You always know how to make me feel better.
There's a moment of silence between them, and then Tom speaks again.
TOM (CONT'D)
You know, it's funny. When we first met, I thought you were just a spineless yes-man. But you've really surprised me.
Greg looks at Tom, a little taken aback.
GREG
Uh, thanks, I guess?
TOM
I mean it. You're smarter than you let on. And you're loyal. That's hard to come by in this business.
Greg smiles, a little shyly.
GREG
Well, I try.
TOM
And I'm grateful for that. It's...nice, having someone like you around.
Greg's expression softens, and for a moment it seems like he might say something more. But then there's a knock at the door, interrupting them.
LOGAN (O.S.)
Tom, you're wanted in the boardroom.
Tom stands up, his moment of vulnerability passing.
TOM
I gotta go. But...thanks, Greg. For everything.
Greg nods, watching as Tom exits the room.
As the door closes behind Tom, Greg looks thoughtful, his expression tinged with a hint of hope.
