Izuku buried his toes in the sand as he hugged his knees. He turned his head just slightly and caught Katsuki staring at him. It made him smile when Katsuki turned away quickly but not quick enough to hide the small blush that dusted his cheeks.
“Kacchan,”
“Hmm?” Katsuki hummed, his mind was overflowing with thoughts of Izuku. How beautiful he looked with the sea air breezing through his hair, his tan complexion contrasting with the white loose shirt he wore. Katsuki could even see the small freckles that dusted his shoulders and chest. The urge to push him down in the sand and kiss each and every freckle on his face was insane, but Katsuki has amazing self control.
“Did you hear me Kacchan?” Izuku’s eyes were glassy and he seemed to be on the verge of crying.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that. I was too busy trying to play connect the dots on your face.” He tried not to be cheesy, and definitely tried not to let him know that Izuku was the only thing on his mind.
“K-Kacchan!” Izuku flushed red and stifled his laugh. “Now i’m embarrassed.” He ducked his head into his arms and tried to suppress the small whimper that threatened to come out. Katsuki laughed.
“Don’t hide your face! I love your freckles.” Katsuki lifted his head up and met his eyes. His gaze flickered to Izuku’s lips for a split second and just as he was about to duck his head in and kiss him Izuku sighed.
“Seriously Kacchan, what are we going to do?” He mindlessly started to doodle in the sand. His mind seemed miles away, but he was living in the moment. cherishing this limited time. he knew this wouldn’t last forever.
“Do about what?”
Izuku sighed, putting his eyes on Katsuki, again they were blurred with tears.
“Summer is ending, and i don’t know if i’ll see you again.” Izuku finally let go, tears ran down his cheeks, he just stared at the sand. he didn’t have the strength to look at Katsuki, it hurt knowing that this was probably the last time he’d see him.
Katsuki took a deep breath. What is he supposed to say to Izuku? The whole summer he’d thrown that thought to the back of his mind, but now he had to face it. had to face the reality of never seeing Deku again.

Katsuki grumbled on and on to his mother about how going to the beach was stupid and he should just stay at school to train. His parents wanted him to let go, to relax. It’d been a difficult first year for him and even his father agreed that everyone needed some r&r.
Katsuki thought it was bullshit.
“Katsuki Bakugo! Get your ass down NOW!” Mitsuki yelled at him from the bottom of the stairs. To be honest, Katsuki hadn’t even packed. An empty suitcase laid in front of him with some beach essentials strewn on the floor.
“Katsuki, please. We can’t miss the flight to Fiji.” Masaru’s voice rang down the hall and Katsuki didn’t even flinch. Although, if it were the old hag, he might’ve pretended to pack.
“‘M not fucking going.”
“Katsuki!” Masaru whisper yelled and immediately began throwing things into his all might suitcase. Katsuki huffed, and started to grab things to throw them out but Masaru stopped him.
“You didn’t pack at all? Mitsuki is going to freak.” There was a slight panic in his voice, but Katsuki couldn’t care less.
“Don’t fucking care if the old hag yells at me, you can’t force me on the plane.” Katsuki shrugged and took a shirt out of the suitcase. Masaru let out a frustrated whine and before he could even reply, Mitsuki walked in.
“Katsuki go wait in the damn car.” The old hag just pointed her finger to the doorway, she was seething with rage. Mitsuki couldn’t remember there last time Katsuki had been so bratty. He was a well behaved kid, sort of, and it truly was mind boggling that he’d act up so suddenly.
“I said-“
“Katsuki just listen to your mother, this is a trip to relax. C’mon.” Masaru was folding beach shorts and placing them into the suitcase, he didn’t want to have them bicker before the plane ride.
“Fucking whatever. Let me grab my shoes at least.” Katsuki shoved his way in front of his mother and bent down to put on his all might slippers. “I’ll be in the car, and /IM/ picking the songs.”
“Okay hon,”

“Im glad we get to go to on vacation dad. It’ll be fun to leave America for once.” Izuku was loading bags into the car, mindlessly humming to himself.
“Maybe we can visit Japan one day, i know Inko wants you to meet your extended family.” Hisashi lifted an especially heavy suitcase that belonged to Inko and smiled down at Izuku. “Maybe I can take time off or something,” He mumbled to himself and it just made Izuku smile.
Inko was busy talking to the neighbors, telling them the watering schedule for her plants and handing over the cat food she bought for the stray that liked to rest at their door.
Minutes went by until Hisashi finally called Inko over.
“Sometimes she sleeps at Izuku’s window! shake the bag and she’ll run over!! Thank you very much.” She bowed and then ran over to her boys. “Had to make sure that yacchan gets fed.”
“Well? Let’s head over, we wouldn’t want to miss the plane to Fiji after all.” Izuku was buzzing with excitement as his father shut the trunk and the three of them slid into their seats.
“Mom? Can i pick the music?”
