Marinette Dupain-Cheng held her head as she felt like she was in a daze; feeling strange but a bit relived. It felt like that she had the weight off the world just lifted off her shoulder; she felt like she was going to faint but was caught by arms that made her feel warm in them, "You alright Marinette?" asked a concerned voice and Marinette looked up and was stunned to see that it was her ex-boyfriend Luka Couffaine looking at her in concern and she felt safe in his arms.
They had broken up recently and it was quite stressful for Marinette; for some reason she couldn't remember but she kept bailing on him for dates and was being late and it was unfair for him especially as she couldn't tell him the reason why. Come to think of it; why couldn't she remember the reason why?
It made her feel awful; she still felt strongly for Luka and had given him a chance after deciding things with Adrien wouldn't work. He had been so patient and she kept letting him down for reasons that she couldn't even remember.
"Luka? What is going on? What happened and why are we here..." Marinette asked and noticed that she was up on the roof of her bakery home and was startled by it. Luka looked at her worryingly and she gulped wondering what had happened.
"What do you last remember Marinette?" Luka asked and Marinette thought hard.
She remembered her female friends ganging up on her in her bedroom after pretty much inviting themselves in without her permission and knowledge; demanding that she tell them a secret and some story about them all giving their secrets to a bracelet of some sort. She snapped saying that maybe they aren't friends and she felt more awful than before than afterwards; deciding that she had enough and wanted to fix things including what made her and Luka break up.
"Well... I had an argument with my friends including Juleka and I snapped and I think it made me come to a decision to fix things... The details are not clear to me..." Marinette replied and was startled as coming up to them was none other than one of Paris' superhero guardians Ladybug with some sort of box.
"You still have your memories apart from being a superhero; at least you were able to keep most of them." smiled Ladybug and Marinette was startled as it felt like an honour to have a superhero in front of her. She didn't get to see her much despite much she helped out against Akumas targeting her class and only remembered directly getting to talk to her during Timetagger. She couldn't remember what they talked about and come to think of it; didn't she get Alya her now estranged best friend an interview with Ladybug somehow.
How did she do that?
"Superhero? I still remember being Multimouse?" Marinette retorted managing to remember that but carelessly got her identity exposed in front of Chat Noir and so ended her one battle superhero career as Ladybug and Luka smiled at her.
"No as Ladybug. You were Ladybug but you gave the Miraculous to me to take over and then just relinquished Guardianship of the Miraculous so that I can take over for you." Ladybug replied and Marinette squealed in shock and in denial about her. Her as a full time superhero and as Ladybug?
That can't be! How can she be in two places at once like with Timetagger and the Multimouse thing... Bad example with the power of that Miraculous. But still she couldn't deny that she felt like that a whole of memories had massive gaps in them and it felt weird. She looked as there was a whole bunch of unfamiliar Kwamis coming up to her to check up on her and saying goodbye to her.
"Thanks and goodbye to you as well..." Marinette told them trying to be polite and she then went to face Ladybug with something still feel not quite right. "That still doesn't quite make sense... If I was Ladybug and I gave the Miraculous to you... Shouldn't you look different? You look just like Ladybug." Marinette asked confused as she looked and sounded just like Marinette.

"It's a long story Marinette but all you need to know is that you are free to live your normal teenage life without this burden on your shoulders anymore and you can trust me to keep Paris safe and to stop Hawk Moth once and for all. Just know that you came up with me your replacement and it had been arranged so Paris never has to find out; as far as anyone ever knows I am and always have been Ladybug." Ladybug replied and Marinette felt like she would have to take her word for it.
"You told me the truth Marinette and wanted help with this plan. Told me that you found a trustworthy replacement and you were tired of having to keep all these secrets and lying to your friends; how it kept making you late and bail on everyone. That it led to us breaking up because you couldn't tell me and how it hurt you not to be honest like I asked. That asked me to help you remember after your relinquished Guardianship as your mentor the previous Guardian lost all his memories after he relinquished the position over to you." Luka explained to Marinette softly as she took this in.
"Well thanks to all of you but how about you Ladybug... Are you sure you want to take on this burden?" Marinette asked hesitatingly but Ladybug smiled at her.
"Don't worry about me; just focus on living your ordinary everyday life." Ladybug assured her and swinged away on her yoyo with the two teenagers waving goodbye to them.
"So... If I don't have the obligations of being a superhero to hurt any chances of us like I did before... Does that mean that..." Marinette asked Luka hesitatingly but hopefully but Luka smiled down at her.
"I feel the sad song keeping you down is gone and don't worry Marinette; I want to give us another chance." Luka assured her and Marinette had tears of joy.
"I won't let you down Luka: I will be the best girlfriend ever worthy of the best boy ever! You feeling down because if you hit a writer's block or dealing with a musician you like being in a scandal then I will be here for you!" Marinette told him and Luka just laughed as they embraced eachother.
In another part of Paris there was a young woman in a hooded jacket with the hood up trying to keep calm even if she was close to panicking as how badly she had screwed this up; "What am I going to do now? I planned this out badly and now I am stuck here and I don't know what is going to happen..." groaned the young woman wondering how she is going to put things back on track now...
