Mary's POV
I walked back into mine and my partners shared apartment after going to help my dad at the ministry for the day, I had texted him a few times through the day but never got a response out of them. I looked around the living room and kitchen to see if he was cleaning or something knowing that if they were stressed about something he would be cleaning what they could. Not seeing them I took my boots off and said, "Hey Beany you home?"
I heard a thump in the bedroom and a quiet, "Sorry."
I set down my keys and walked into the bedroom to see them on the bed curled into himself around a pillow, "Hey what's wrong?" I sat down on the edge of the bed and ran my hand through their hair, "Did something happen?"
He shook his head, "I missed you."
I gave them a sad smile, "I'm sorry Bean you could have come with me."
They shook their head, "Knee hurts."
"Aw Bean I'm sorry, do you need anything? Have you eaten today?"
He shook his head again, "Didn't wanna move."
I kissed their forehead and said, "How about we go in the living room and i can make us something to eat?"
They nodded, "I'm sorry I didn't text you back."
"Its okay, I was worried about you."
"I'm sorry."
I shook my head and gently pulled them into my lap, "Its fine, you're okay and I'm okay. Dad says hi by the way."
He smiled, "I'll have to call him."
I kissed their head, "We can do that he'll be happy to hear from you he was getting worried too."
He wrapped his arms around me and held on tight, "Sorry I worried you both."
"Its okay, lets go to the kitchen okay? Do you think you can get up?" They held me tighter, "I'll take that as a no, it's okay i've got you." I got my arms under him and picked them up as I stood, "Here we go, do you wanna hang out in the kitchen with me or in the living room?"
"I'll stay with you."
I smiled, "Okay good, when we're done in here we can call him okay?"
He nodded, "Okay."
After we ate I brought him back to bed and sat down with them in my lap, I grabbed my phone and said, "Okay lets call him."
He nodded, "What were you guys doing today?"
"Not much, he was wanting me to help him with the new album."
They smiled, "Cool, do you know when you're going again?"
"Not sure yet we've still got some stuff to work on." I looked at my phone and hit the call button, "We can ask when he picks up."
He nodded, "Okay."
I heard his voice on the other end say, "Hello?"
"Hey Dad, we thought we'd give you a call."
"Hi Copia."
"Hey, I missed you today how are you?"
"I'm okay."
I kissed the top of their head, "They're hurting pretty bad today."
"I'm sorry, Mary's taking care of you right?"
They nodded, "Yeah."
"Good, do you need anything?"
I smiled, "I think we're okay, we were wondering when you wanted us to come over again?"
"Anytime, I can come over sometime, I might stop by tomorrow."
He smiled, "Sounds great."
We heard something in the background of the call, "What was that?"
"That was Dew chasing someone down the hall."
I smiled, "Shouldn't you stop him?"
"No I think it's fine, it was probably Swiss."
"Probably.
"I'll go check on that I'll see you tomorrow okay?"
"Okay we'll see you tomorrow."
"Love you."
"Love you too."
Reader's POV
I sat on the bed while Mary went to grab something from the kitchen and grabbed my phone, there was a text from Rain, "Hey Papa told me you weren't feeling good so I thought I would check on you."
I smiled, "Thanks, Mary's helping a lot."
"Good let me know if you need anything."
"I will thanks Rainy."
I heard Mary walking back into the room, "Okay I got your water bottle and a couple of these for you to take."
I smiled up at them as he handed me two pills, "Thanks Babe."
They sat down besdie me and kissed me on the cheek, "How you feeling?"
"I'm okay, Rain texted me."
"Oh yeah? How are they I didn't see them today."
"They're good I think, they were checking on me Copia told them I wasn't feeling good."
He nodded, "when you're feeling better we can go see all of them."
"Good."
They pulled me into their lap and said, "You feeling any better?"
"Kinda, still feel bad about worrying you."
"Its okay Beany I should have come by and checked on you."
I leaned more into him, "I was gonna text you I just didn't feel like moving."
"I know I'll be with you all day tomorrow how's that sound?"
I smiled, "Good, thanks Mare."
They kissed the top of my head, "We should get some sleep maybe it'll help."
I nodded, "Sounds good to me."
In the morning I woke up partially on top of them in their arms, he looked down at me and kissed my nose, "You feeling better?"
"Yeah, do you think we can go see everyone instead of him coming here? I didn't clean up anything yesterday."
"He won't mind but if you feel more comfortable going there we can do that. I'll just have to text or call him."
"Thank you."
He kissed my cheek, "Is it okay if I get up?"
I nodded and moved off of them, "I think I might have to get up too."
They looked at me as they stood from the bed, "You okay to?"
I nodded, "Yeah I think so."
"Okay, if you need me let me know."
"I will, thanks Babe."
He leaned down and kissed me, "I'll be right back."
"Okay." I watched them walk out of the room and sat on the edge of the bed, I stood up slowly and stood still to prepare myself to start walking to the bathroom. I made my way in, trying to hide that it was still hurting to not worry Mary. I got into the bathroom and he looked at me, "You okay?"
I nodded, "Yeah, i'm good."
He dried his hands and walked to me, "You sure?"
I looked up at him and nodded, "Yeah."
He put his arms around me and kissed me while lifting me onto the counter, he pulled away, "I can always tell Beany."
I pouted at them, "That's not fair."
He smiled and kissed me again, "Maybe not but remember how you said you would ask me for help?"
"Yeah."
"Okay then start doing it." They kissed me again, "Let me get you back down." I nodded and he picked me up off the counter and set me back down, "There you go, do you need anything?"
"I don't know, its not as bad as it was."
"That's good, I'll go call Dad."
"Okay."
Mary's POV
I heard him walking out of the bathroom and looked up as they sat down in the living room, "You sure you wanna go? I can tell him we changed our minds."
He shook his head, "I can go, just need to figure something out."
"How about I go see if I can find your knee brace?"
They nodded, "Please?"
I walked closer to him and kissed him, "I'll be right back."
"Thank you."
I walked into the bathroom and started looking around in the cabinet, when i found it I walked back out and said, "Here you go, hopefully that'll help some."
He nodded and started putting it on, "Thanks Babe."
I kissed them, "No problem, do you wanna go get dressed?"
"Yeah just a minute."
"That's okay take your time." I sat down beside him and grabbed his hand, "I know you think you still have to rush and do everything but you don't, if you need me to do stuff just ask me."
They nodded and leaned into me, "I just get scared."
I held him in my arms, "I know, its okay I won't let anything happen to you."
"Thanks Mare, did you call him already?"
I nodded, "Yep, he said to just let him know when we get there."
He smiled at me, "Good, he's the best."
I smiled, "He is, do you wanna go get dressed now or do you still need some time?"
"I think I'm okay."
"Okay." I stood from the couch and grabbed his hand, "Take your time."
They nodded, "Thanks Babe."
Once he was standing I held onto his hands and said, "You good?"
They nodded, "Yeah, I think so."
I let go of one of his hands and kissed his cheek before we started walking to the bedroom, I looked at them, "Still good?"
He nodded, "Yeah."
When we got to the ministry I looked at him and said, "You okay?"
They nodded, "Yeah I'm good ready to see everyone."
I smiled, "I know, lets go then."
We got out of the car and I walked around and grabbed his hand, "I think I see him."
He looked at the window where I saw Dad walking from his office, he laughed, "I bet he was watching for us."
I smiled, "Probably, he was so worried about you yesterday."
"I know, I wish I could have came with you."
"Its okay everyone's here today so we can stay as long as you want."
Reader's POV
We walked up the steps to the door and Copia opened it then wrapped his arms around me, "Hey, how are you feeling?"
I hugged him back, "I'm okay, sorry i worried you yesterday."
"Its okay, come in I was about to go see what the ghouls are doing."
I smiled and looked from his mismatched eyes to Mary's, we walked behind Copia and they held my hand, "I feel kinda left out."
He looked at me, "Why's that Bean?"
"You guys have the eyes, i'm the only one that doesn't."
They both laughed and Copia said, "Speaking of which i found some old pictures of them that I think you'll like."
I smiled, "Oh? What kind of pictures?"
"I'll go get them do you want to come with me?"
I nodded, "Mare do you wanna come?"
He smiled and kissed my cheek, "I think I'll go see what everyone's doing, you two have fun."
I nodded and kissed them, "We'll be there soon."
He walked down the hall and Copia opened his office door, "Okay come in, sit down and I'll grab those."
I sat in one of the chairs by the desk and he grabbed a small box off the shelf, "Here we go, the top one's my favorite and I think it'll be yours too."
I opened the box and took the top picture out, "That is so cute!"
He smiled, "He's was six or seven I think and they wanted to see what they would look like with the paint on so he got one of the sisters to help him but she was also around that age."
I laughed again looking at the picture of Mary with black and white paint on their face and in their hair, "That's so cute." I looked at the next picture of Copia holding a tiny Mary in his arm, Mary was holding one of the old ghoul masks and looking up at Copia, "Look at them."
He looked at the picture, "That was his first ritual I took him to, he was excited to see Secundo up on stage."
"I bet, he looks excited."
He smiled, "This one's from when I got him his first guitar."
"Aw look how happy they are."
"I know, they had been playing on the ones we use on stage and didn't think they would get their own."
"He's so cute, I'm wanting to get him a new one for his birthday."
"They'll love that."
When we left his office we walked to the large common area where Mary was sitting with Dew and Aether, he looked up and said, "Hey Beany Rain's looking for you."
"Cool where are they?"
"I think they're with Cumulus and Sunshine."
"I'll go find them."
I leaned over the couch and kissed him, "Let me know if you need anything."
I saw Rain sitting with Cumulus and Sunshine on one of the other couches, "Hey Rainy."
They looked up and stood from the couch, "Hey! How are you feeling?"
I hugged them, "I'm good."
We sat down on the couch and Cumulus said, "They told me you were hurting yesterday."
"Yeah I'm okay though Mary was so worried I felt so bad."
Sunshine looked at me, "He's your partner their gonna be worried, its like when Mounty is hurting Cirrus and I always help him out."
"Yeah, how is he?"
She smiled, "He's good, i got this picture of him the other day." She pulled her phone out and opened it to a picture of him laying in bed with Cirrus and herself half asleep, "He was being so cuddly I had to get a picture."
I smiled, "That's so cute, I wish i got a video of Mary yesterday they were doing a little dance while he got my water."
"That's adorable, he's so sweet."
I laughed, "Don't spread that around he has a 'reputation'."
They all laughed, "Yeah yeah, he's a marshmallow."
Mary's POV
I was driving home and looked over at them in the passenger's seat and smiled at his sleeping face before looking back to the road, I grabbed their hand and held onto it as I drove back to our apartment. When we got there I parked the car and looked at him, "Beany? Hey we're home."
They opened their eyes, "Already?"
I laughed, "Its not a long drive Baby, you're just tired."
He nodded, "Yeah."
I leaned over and kissed them, "Let's get inside so we can sleep, you have fun?"
They nodded, "Yeah, your dad gave me a few pictures."
"I bet you two had too much fun looking through those."
He smiled, "Yeah maybe just a little bit."
I kissed their nose, "You're too cute, lets get inside its cold out."
We got out of the car and I grabbed my jacket out of the back seat, "Here put this on."
He smiled and wrapped it around himself, "Thanks Babe."
I walked beside them and kissed the top of their head, "How's the knee feeling?"
"Not too bad, better than it was."
"Good, I was getting worried."
He smiled up at me, "I know you were, I'm fine Marshmallow."
I stopped and looked at them, "What?" They laughed and kept walking to the door, "What?"
