Both teens have a super-playing card linked to magical animals known as, Guardians that give them powers. Notes:

This Heroes Of Lilac Rose Black Spade is a small series inspired by a famous French CGI series called Miraculous Tales Of Ladybug and Cat Noir, created by Thomas Astruc and ZAG. This series was created just for fun. I'm not an elite writer, so please forgive me for any mistakes. [If I don't update in a while, probably working on an episode for Wattpad or I'm dreaming about death for some reason...]

Chapter 1: The Heroes Origin [Part One]

Chapter Text

Since the creation of the universe, the Gods Myrus; and Draxus created a magical deck of cards called super cards. These cards can grant the cardholder powers depending on which card the holder acquires. Of all the cards within this deck, only two are the most powerful, the Ace of Diamond and the Ace of Spade super cards. The Ace of Diamonds card grants the ultimate power of destruction, while its counterpart, the Ace of Spades' grants ultimate creation. Anyone wielding these cards would access unimaginable power and reality-altering wish after performing an incantation.

It's been approximately two weeks since someone found the super card grimoire alongside two playing cards during his recent trip from Paris, France. Now standing up from his cushioned seat, the thirty-three-year-old man walked over to the portrait on the wall in his office. He stared at the picture for a brief moment before removing it and placing it on the tiled flooring. Looking up, he saw his safe.

Putting in the safe's combination, the man opened the safe to reveal a framed picture, cash, credit cards, passports, the grimoire, and the super cards, within their respective boxes. As he was about to pick up the closest box near the entrance, his eyes glanced over to the second box and picked it up, revealing that it was the King of Clubs' super card, and closed the safe's door.

The muscular man studied the small card box in his hand before opening the lid and taking out a beautifully designed super card. Suddenly, a blinding ball of light swirled around the guy before coming to a halt in front of the man. The light vanished, and sitting before him was a white tiger with violet-colored eyes. The man noticed how memorizing the tiger's gaze was. It was almost hypnotizing.

The tiger spoke, breaking the silence within the room. "It seems you've reconsidered my agreement?"

"Ha. You wouldn't be out here if I never agreed, Simon." The man spoke, leaning against his desk with folded arms.

Simon, the menacing tiger, gaze shifted towards the portrait and returned to the muscular man. A smirk formed on the man's face. "Say, Simon, how do I transform again?"

"... Hold up your card and repeat the phrase; Let the hunt commence!" Simon purred.

The man repeated the phrase, and suddenly, blind light came from the playing card and immediately illuminated the room. Within seconds, the man disappeared. Now, there stood a masked vigilante.

He wore a white button-up shirt, black dressing pants and shoes, a dark red button-up blazer, and black leather gloves. Along with an overcoat due to the cold weather. On his face was a gold-lightweight metal filigree masquerade mask. From the corner of his grey-colored eyes, the man noticed that Simon never under-go any changes.

Closing his eyes, the man could feel a powerful surge of negative energy throughout the city, specifically at a high school. 'It'd seem we have our first victim," He thought, snapping his gloved fingers. Within seconds, both he and Simon disappeared.

As the warm wind blew through the freezing atmosphere of the city, a hamster abruptly awoke from her slumber panting. "What seems to be the problem, Ashley?" A polite and feminine asked. Her eyes now shifted away from her book.

"Lady Blossom! I-I felt a powerful negative aura on the King of Club super playing card." Ashley shrieked.

The woman dropped her book, and her expression immediately changed into shock. 'That's impossible! I thought I had lost that card ever since the incident,' The woman thought, clenching her fist with widened eyes. Ashley leaped out of her bed and walked toward the woman.

"... I have to locate that card."

"What are you saying, Lady Blossom?! You aren't in any condition to fight this threat!" Ashley exclaimed. The woman heard the panic in the hamster's voice.

"As the last remaining Celestial Guardian, I must protect all the super cards within my possession." Lady Blossom retorted. Picking up the book, Lady Blossom placed it on the bookshelf.

"It'd be wise if you didn't fight this new threat due to your condition and years off the battlefield." Ashley spoke, "Besides if anyone can retrieve that card, it'd be the two guys the Gods chose to protect the Ace of Spade and Diamond cards. Only they have a fighting chance."

Lady Blossom reminded quietly before releasing a sigh."Alright, you've made your point."

It was a busy Tuesday morning in the City of Lilac Rose. Many individuals were on the streets carrying out their daily lives. At the Summers Light diner or home, a boy with jet-black hair and pale brown eyes slept soundly in his bed while his alarm rang for the last fifteen minutes. Alvin Summers, the father of Justin Summers, came into the teen's room and turned off his alarm.

"Hey Justin, wake up," Alvin said, with a smile upon his rosy tint cheeks. "No!! Just give me a couple of hours more." Justin groaned, covering his face using his pillow. Alvin chuckled at the sight of his semi-awake son.

"Come on, kiddo! Wake up! You don't want to be late for your fight day back at high school." Alvin said.

The ravenette groaned into his pillow, slowly sitting up. Justin moved the sheet from his face and stared at his Dad with sleepy eyes. "Uh- I'm awake,"

"Good! Now hurry and get dressed, then come downstairs to the Diner," Alvin stated, ruffling Justin's messy bed hair with a smile before exiting the room. With an audible groan, the teen hopped out of bed, preparing for the new semester.

Alvin wore a 3/4 cuffed-sleeved sky-blue button-up shirt, black dressing pants, and shoes. He wore a red apron that wrapped around his waist and upper area. His chocolate-colored hair was neatly brushed back and tied into a man bun.

About fifteen minutes later, Justin came downstairs and sat on a cushioned stool around the island wearing a white T-shirt; dark blue jeans; black converse; a dark blue beanie; black gloves; a black Duffle Coat for the frigid weather, and a one-strap bag over his shoulder.

"Morning, Justin. Are you ready for your first day in the tenth grade?" Alvin asked, placing the teen's breakfast in front of him on the island's counter. "... Honestly, I don't know," Justin replied. "I'm just hoping that Drake isn't in my class this year."

"Four times in a row! Is that even possible?" Alvin asked with a raised brow.

"Drake's the mayor's son, and he's a successful event organizer, after all, so anything's possible," Justin mumbled, placing knife and fork on his now empty plate. In the process, Justin's elbow accidentally knocked over his cup of orange juice and spilled it over the island's countertop. The ravenette groaned, knowing his cursed luck onward would be slightly more problematic this year.

"You're lucky I haven't opened the doors yet. I'll clean this up! Also, here's a box of chocolate chip cookies to share with your new classmates." Alvin said, handing him a medium-sized box. "Thanks, Dad," Justin smiled. Taking the box from his Dad's hand and waved goodbye, exiting the Diner.

Kilometers away, another teenager was getting ready for his first day at public school. "Shawn, please hurry, or you'll be late for your first day at school!" A feminine voice asked from downstairs.

'Tsk. Mother, what do you think I'm doing?' Shawn thought.

Shawn Falconer was a tall, athletically built, handsome, fair-skinned seventeen-year-old with gorgeous red-colored hair, emerald green eyes, and has rosy tint on his cheeks, nose, and the tip of his ears.

Shawn, alongside his mom, recently moved from London to Lilac Rose, thanks to her new job opportunity as a news reporter.

Not wanting his mother to be upset, the ginger grabbed his black padded coat and dark blue bag and dashed downstairs. His Mom, Ashley Falconer, was standing outside by the front door. Once Shawn closed the front door, the pair entered the car. Within seconds, Ashley drove off.

It's been a quiet twenty minutes into the drive. Ashley's gaze shifted towards the ginger, who had a stern expression as he glanced through the car's window. Immediately, she broke the silence.

"Shawn, do you think you'll make any friends at your new school?" Ashley asked with a smile.

"... To be honest, I'm not entirely sure," Shawn paused. "I was home-schooled for most of my life, and the very concept of friendship still confuses me." He sighed heavily.

"Cheer up! A little birdy told me that one of your old pals, Drake, is also attending the same school," Ashley spoke. Knowing this fact made Shawn smile.

•••

After ten minutes, they finally arrived at Bridgeport High School. "Having a great day, Shawn." Ashley chimed. Shawn replied with a sheepish 'you too,' before grabbing his bag from the back seat and exiting the car. As he watched his mother drive away, the ginger faced the institution.

"Someone, please help!" A fragile voice called out.

Shawn glanced around where he saw an elderly lady with pepper and salt struggling to find her glasses and wooden cane as they were beyond her reach. Shawn watched as many individuals rushed passed the woman as if she wasn't there.

Shawn walked towards the wooden cane and her glasses and helped the woman back to her feet. "Thank you, young man." She spoke, adjusting her glasses with a sheepish smile.

"No problem! I'm just happy to help," Shawn responded. The woman watched as the teen walked off and into Bridgeport High School.

The box of cookies didn't survive the traffic. Justin groaned, picking himself off the ground with the dog in his arms. After the traffic lights changed, the man paced toward Justin.

"I can't thank you enough! For saving Scarecrow!" The man exclaimed, hugging his dog. "How can I repay you?" The man asked.

Justin nervously chuckled. "Y-you don't have to do that. I'm just happy to help,"

The man smiled and again thanked Justin for his bravery and kindness. Not wanting to be late, Justin excused himself from the conversation with the man and ran off.

•••

Closing the principal's office door, Shawn stood a few inches from the door and scanned the populated halls. His emerald-colored eyes watched as many teens greeted their friends by the lockers, drinking fountains, or as they walked through the halls. The ginger eyes shifted back to his schedule for the semester. As he continued to review his schedule, someone with gorgeous brown and gray eyes charged toward him and hugged him from behind, which caused Shawn to drop a few of his textbooks.

'The hell?!' Shawn thought.

"Shawn, I've missed you," Drake exclaimed, his voice filled with joy as if it was Christmas and his birthday on the day. The students in the populated halls began to mutter as they watched the scene in shock. Shawn felt a bit uneased but brushed it off.

Shawn reached for his textbooks from the tilted flooring and held the books under his arm. Drake snatched the ginger's schedule from his hand and began reviewing it. "This is great! You're in most of my classes," Drake exclaimed.

Shawn asked, "Could you show me where my first class is?"

Drake grabbed Shawn's hand, and the two headed to locate the classroom. Eventually, both teens found the class and were greeted by Drake's cousin, Amber. "Sit here, Shawn," Amber said, directing him to the bench in the first row. Shawn thanked the girl before sitting beside a guy with dirty blonde hair and dark brown eyes.

"Uh, hello. My name is Shawn,"

The blonde raised a brow as his gaze moved toward Drake and Amber. "You're friends with them?" The blonde asked. Shawn was slightly confused about the statement but kindly shrugged it off. Immediately, the ginger caught a glimpse of Drake plastering chewing gum on the bench beside him. "What's that all about?" Shawn asked, getting up from his seat.

"There's a crybaby who usually sits here, and I thought he'd need some attitude adjustment," Drake chuckled, returning to his seat. 'Is this necessary?' Shawn thought. Taking off his glove, Shawn tried removing the chewed gum.

•••

'Dammit, I'm already late!' Justin thought, dashing through the empty halls of the school. As the ravenette made his way upstairs, he slowed his pace walking toward the nearby drinking fountain to quench his thirst.

"Excuse me," A voice called out.

Justin looked up from the drinking fountain to see a guy around his age. He had chestnut-colored hair and icy-blue eyes. His hand is in the pockets of his puffer jacket. "How can I help?" Justin asked, walking towards the blonde.

"The name's Alan and I'm the new transfer student. I'm having trouble finding Class 4-B." Alan explained.

Justin chuckled, "Well, you're in luck! I'm heading there now."

Alan smiled and told Justin to lead the way. As the two made their way down the deserted halls, Alan asked, "I forgot to ask, what's your name?"

"Justin," He replied.

After arriving, they quickly realized the teacher wasn't present. But something caught Justin's attention. Walking toward his annual seat, Justin witnessed a muscular guy with ginger-colored hair plastering gum on his side of the bench.

"W-what the hell do you think you're doing?!" Justin yelled, causing Shawn to turn around in shock. Both Drake and Amber began laughing at the scene, which made Justin's blood boil. "Oh, good job, you three, and great joke!" Justin gritted through his teeth.

Shawn immediately stood up, "N-no, I was trying to take-"

The ravenette groaned, cutting off Shawn and making his way past the ginger, and walked towards his side of the seat. He tore off a sticky note and then placed it on the gum.

"You're friends with Drake, aren't you?"

Shawn frowned and glanced away, not answering the question. Justin then sat an inch away from the paper along with Alan. With a sigh, Shawn walked over to his seat. "See what I'm talking about, Shawn," Drake smirked.

"Dammit!" Shawn cursed under his breath. The blonde sitting beside Shawn gave him a concerned look. "Why didn't you tell him it was Drake's idea?"

"I've been friends with Drake since childhood. I know he's not perfect, but I can't throw him under the bus. He's like my only friend." Shawn explained.

"I'm Harvey, and it's about time you made new friends," Harvey smiled at the ginger.

After a few minutes, the classroom began filling up with more students soon after the teacher entered.

"Good morning, class." She spoke, placing the textbooks she held on her desk. "My name is Miss Piper. I'll be your homeroom and English teacher for the semester." Miss Piper smiled at the class.

It's been an hour since Miss Piper arrived. She gave the class a small pep talk about the tenth grade and began her lesson. The classroom was quiet as everyone took down the notes from the whiteboard. Rebecca, a girl who sat in the back of the class, was annoyed by the fact Brittany was constantly throwing paper at her.

"Could you stop that?!" Rebecca sternly asked.

Brittany chuckled and began throwing more paper at her. Gritting her teeth, Rebecca stood up and screamed, "Dammit, Brittany! Stop throwing paper at me, or I'll throw my fist in your face!" Rebecca yelled, which caught everyone's attention.

"Rebecca! For disrupting my lesson, please take your things and go to the principal's office!" Miss Piper spoke in a harsh tone. Everyone watched as Rebecca packed her things and left the classroom.

After making her way to the principal's office, Rebecca opened the room only for the principal to say, "Young lady, go outside and try that again."

Rebecca rolled her bluebell eyes and slammed the door after exiting the room. She clenched her fist and folded her arms. "It's so unfair! Why am I getting punished for merely acting in self-defense?! Brittany should be the one here, not me!" Rebecca mumbled, slamming her hands against the wall.

"Do you want revenge?" A husky voice asked, startling the tenth grader. Suddenly, a masked figure stepped out from the shadows, and beside him was a white tiger.

"Of course I do!" Rebecca exclaimed, staring at the suited figure standing a few inches away. "But... Who are you exactly?"

The figure smirked, "My name is King Club, and I'm here to make your dream come true, but I would like something in return."

She gave him a confused look but nodded in agreement. "I want two special playing cards, The Ace Of Spades and The Ace Of Diamonds. Do we have an agreement?" King Club asked as he held out a dark black playing card with red translucent highlights.

Rebecca hesitated at first, but with each second passing, she began giving into temptation and quickly accepted the offer. Rebecca took the playing card from King Club to reveal the ten hearts playing card. Suddenly, dark fog surrounded her body, which began her transformation sequence. "Don't forget our agreement." King Club said before vanishing.

"Oh. Don't worry, King Club, I won't!" She said in a sinister tone.

It's been around ten minutes since Rebecca exited the principal's office. The principal, Mr. Smith, became quite impatient as the student who left his office was supposed to return. Mr. Smith stood up from his seat and walked over to the door. Suddenly, the door was kicked open, causing Mr. Smith to fall flat and hit his head on his desk.

Mr. Smith winced in pain as he slowly looked up and saw a female figure standing between the door frame. Rebecca or Ten Hearts walked into his office wearing a pink organza-tiered short dress with a red heart bodice, pink ankle-high-heeled boots, white gloves, and a black mini jacket. Her bluebell eyes were now violet, and her dark brown hair had red and white dyed streaks.

She stood in front of her principal with a devilish smirk.

Mr. Smith could slowly feel the blood rolling down his face due to the impact of hitting his head. "I loathe people like you." She paused, staring at the frightened man. "But I'll need someone like you for my army." She laughed before using her powers. She blew a visible kiss mark, which flew onto Mr. Shawn's left cheek.

Suddenly, a dark red fog surrounded Mr. Smith, transforming the adult into a Knight. "As my fellow knight, you shall protect me from all future attacks." Ten Hearts said, staring at her mindless slave. "Yes, my Queen." The Knight said, bowing in front of the Card Villain.

"Now, follow me! I'm going to need more, Knights." She laughed, exiting the office.

It's been an hour since the dismissal of classes. Most of Miss Piper's students were in the gamers' lounge, and they were playing a variety of different video games. Finishing his second game, Harvey stood up from his seat and walked to get a drink from the vending machine. As Harvey made his way over to the vending machine, he saw his new friend Shawn.

"Fancy seeing you here," Harvey said, to which the ginger chuckled.

"I thought you weren't into this stuff," Harvey said, taking a dollar from his pocket. "There's a lot of things you don't know about me," Shawn smirked. After Harvey got a drink, he and Shawn talked few minutes, and that's when someone caught Shawn's attention.

"Who are you staring at?" Harvey asked, looking in the direction of the ginger. It was Justin and Alan! They had just entered the lounge.

"It's him," Shawn said, his emerald green eyes locked on the ravenette. "Justin's a cool guy once you get to know him," Harvey spoke, placing his hand on his shoulder.

"Each time I tried talking to him, he gives me the silent treatment." Shawn groaned. Suddenly, a large boulder smashed through the walls of the lounge. Surprisingly, no one was injured. A few students peeked outside the large gap in the wall to see an army of knights.

Real knights in actual armor!

"Everyone, exit the room and find a secure place to hide," A teacher exclaimed as he opened the door in a state of panic.

Not wasting a minute, everyone immediately exits the lounge and only hears another boulder smashing through the room. As many other students and teachers ran through the partially destroyed halls, the building began to shake.

"D-does this happen regularly?!" Alan asked, a bit concerned.

"No," Justin replied.

As the two paced downstairs, they heard the sound of metal footsteps coming toward them. Thinking fast, Alan grabbed the ravenette's arm and pushed him into the janitor's closet. "Ah- Alan, what are you doing?" Justin asked as he watched the brunette break the doorknob from the inside.

"I'm going to lead those things away from here," Alan exclaimed, closing the door.

Justin tried to convince Alan not to produce with his plan, but the brunette ran off. Justin could hear metal footsteps running in the same direction as Alan.

Justin heard a sound on his phone, signaling a notification. He pulled out his phone and began to watch the news report.

"I'm asking the citizens of Lilac Rose to stay home until we have this situation under control." Mayor Thompson explained as the video clip ended. "As incredible as it seems, the city is indeed under attack by knights, and the police force is struggling to keep the situation under control!" Ashley Falconer, the news reporter, spoke over the microphone.

Justin groaned and turned off his phone.

"I hate first days back at school," Justin muttered as he sat on the cold tiled floor. Suddenly, a small box fell from a shelf and onto the floor. "What's this?" Justin said as he took up the small card box.

Justin opened the card box and took out a playing card. "The Ace of Spades," Justin muttered, staring at the playing card with confusion. Suddenly, a bright ball of white light emerged from the playing card and disappeared to reveal a ragdoll kitten with white and brown fur and honey-yellow eyes. "Hello Justin, please don't be afraid." The Kitten purred.

Justin's eyes widened.

He was in a complete state of disbelief at what he saw. "What are you, and how do you know my name?" The ravenette asked, trying not to scream due to the current situation.

"My name is Nex, and I'm a guardian. You'll understand everything if you let me explain." Nex spoke, sitting before the teen. "The city is in great danger and needs your help-"

Flabbergasted, Justin immediately cut off the ragdoll kitten. "W-wait a damn minute! The city needs my help?!"

"Indeed! Justin, you were chosen by the Gods, and that playing card for a reason. I'm here to guide you to becoming a great Spade holder." Nex purred, placing his paw on the teen's thigh.

"Even if that's so... I'm not sure about becoming a superhero. I'm just going to make things worse." The teen mumbled.

"That's pretty understandable. Some of the previous Spade wielders were like you and had regrets. But they gave it some time and began something new in the end," Nex explained.

Justin took a deep breath, picked up Nex, and stood up. "Alright, tell me what I need to do."

Both rescue and news choppers surrounded the partially destroyed school. The rescue choppers retrieved as many students, staff members, and teachers as the News choppers captured footage of the knights rampaging throughout the streets. A few rescue choppers were also avoiding the boulders and other objects launched by the knights below.

"Get back here!" A knight yelled as he and his troop chased after the ginger.

Shawn paced through the halls, dodging every attack they launched toward him. The building began to shake again, causing a few large lighting fixtures to fall from the ceiling. Using this to his advantage, Shawn grabbed a hand-sized rock and threw it at the suspended light fixture, immediately cutting the cord and slamming into a few knights.

After exiting the building, an enormous boulder fell, blocking him and the knights. He watched as the Rescue Choppers flew away with many injured students and teachers.

"Find her!" A voice shouted.

Immediately, Shawn crouched, hiding behind a few boulders, and peeked to see more knights. But something else caught his attention, a girl around his age screaming at the knights as they failed to locate a person they were in search of.

"No way! Rebecca?!" Shawn mumbled before going back into hiding. Suddenly, the ginger saw a small card box on the ground before him and picked it up.

Shawn opened the card box and took out a playing card. "The Ace of Diamonds," Shawn muttered.

Suddenly, a bright ball of white light emerged from the playing card and disappeared to reveal a puppy, a german shepherd who had black and white fur and bright blue eyes.

"Hey there," The puppy barked.

Due to the situation, he contained himself before releasing a frustrated sigh. "Uh- what are you exactly?" Shawn asked with a raised brow.

"My name's Sky and I'm a guardian," Sky spoke. "Getting to the point, you were chosen by the Gods to become the wielder of the Ace of Diamonds playing card. I'm here to guide you in becoming a great wielder." Sky finished.

"In a nutshell, you can grant powers to become a superhero?" Shawn bluntly asked. "Or a villain, who knows," Sky said.

"A hero? Sky, if you haven't realized, I'm just a teenager." Shawn retorted, folding his arms. "True! You also have great potential to become a great hero." Sky replied. Shawn heard another boulder launching. Instead of hitting the school, it was the school's entrance.

"Tell me more about my powers,"

"Diamond wielders are capable of destroying anything and everything they get a grasp on. To activate this power, you'll need to say 'Diamond Destruction,' but you'll only have a maximum of five shots to use this power, as your suit will drain the power about 20%." Sky explained.

"Wait, wouldn't the public recognize my facial features and voice?" Shawn asked. "The mask is magic, so no one will recognize your face or voice," Sky stated.

"Hm. How do I get the superhero suit now?" Shawn asked.

Sky chuckle. "Aren't you eager? Hold up your card and repeat the phrase; Time to take action!"

Holding up his playing card, Shawn repeated the phrase and immediately began his first transformation sequence.
