Chapter 1: Carl Grimes? More like Carl Anderson.

Chapter Text

It has been approximately 3 weeks since the Anderson family joined the Atlanta group.

Shane respected them for the most part except for the two alphas of the family.

The first one is the father Pete Anderson a raging alcoholic, abusive, and often irritated Alpha.

He was also their only doctor in the camp, which made it so that kicking him out would be stupid and risky.

Pete and Ed (another Alpha with problems) were similar and would often be found conversing with each other.

The only difference between them was that one of them was vital for the group the other... not so much.

Shane just had to find the right moment to finally get Ed down and put that Beta in his place.

But there was a much worse problem than even Ed or Pete and his name was Ron fucking Anderson.

The second Alpha in the Anderson pack that Shane had a problem with because why?

Well, the little shit constantly flirted with Carl and was a snarky bitch to everyone else!

Shane sighed trying to reign in the anger he felt as he watched the 18-year-old Alpha flirt with his best friend’s omega son.

The only thing that was stopping him from wringing the boy’s neck was Lori who had fallen victim to Ron’s fake-ass charm.

"You know... I could teach you how to shoot a gun if you'd like?" Ron said smirking as he watched the omega giggle and roll his eyes.

"In your dreams, Anderson." Carl said before briskly walking away and swaying his hips.

"Good thing I sleep a lot then." Ron muttered about to chase after the other before a hand on his shoulder stopped him.

The young Alpha’s everlasting smirk only widened seeing his omega’s uncle? Godfather? Eh, he didn't know the relationship between the two, didn't care either.

Shane Walsh, the man Carl’s mother has been sleeping with out in the woods was glaring at him.

Ron knew and anyone with eyes did too that this man absolutely despised him for flirting with Carl.

And honestly, he couldn't give two fucks about what Shane thought of him.

The older Alpha pranced around camp acting like their leader but he was far from that.

In Ron's opinion, Shane was way too aggressive with certain members of the group.

It was understandable at times but damn you really gotta start something with, Glenn? The only willing guy in the camp to go out and risk his life for supplies that they need.

Although besides that there was some good attributes of Walsh.

He was a good fighter, Ron admitted but the man didn't have a plan most of the time.

He just wants them to stay in this very unsafe quarry in Georgia. I mean come on this campsite could be overrun any moment and yet Shane ignored him.

The bastard.

"Get back to work, kid." Shane said watching in satisfaction as the Alpha sneered.

"I'm not a kid anymore and just so you know Carl and I were actually going for a swim so I'm already doing my work." Ron smugly replied regaining his cool composure and walking off.

"That little fucker-"

"Leave it be, Shane." Lori’s voice said laying a comforting hand on his bicep "The kid wants to make Carl his, so what?"

Shane gaped at the woman "So what? So what? Lori, that kid is corrupting Carl you know your precious omega son."

Lori laughed tossing her head back "He might be my precious son but Carl’s an adult now and it's not like he's uncomfortable with Ron’s advances. In fact, he told me the other night how much he adored the Alpha’s attention."

Shane grumbled pulling the beta woman closer to his side, thoughts running wild of how he could and not so subtly get rid of 2nd Anderson child.

---------------------------------------------------------------

"God, you are so embarrassing!"

Carl screamed as the Alpha promptly splashed him with water.

"What? Can't handle a little water, babe?" Ron teased chuckling when the omega flipped him off.

The two continued to play fight for a bit only stopping when the Alpha managed to grab a hold of Carl’s wrists.

Their faces were inches apart now and breaths intermingling.

Carl moaned softly seeing just how close they were and how easy it’d be to just slot their lips together.

Ron must've been thinking the same thing as the two boys slowly inched forward.

"Hey! You two the others got back from the city!"

Carol’s voice called out as the pair quickly broke apart.

"Alright! Uh, will be right there." Carl said blushing and shooting a glare at the equally flushed Alpha.

"Oh, take your time." Carol smiled a genuine smile that not even Ed could force out of the woman.

Then she was off leaving the two teens to get changed.

Carl groaned and buried his face in his hands, there was no doubt the woman would be sharing their intimate moment with the rest of the camp later.

"Come on, let's get dressed before I do something really idiotic." Ron said winking and getting out of the lake.

"Oh? Like what, kiss me senseless?" Carl playfully winked back grabbing his shorts and shirt from a tree.

The Alpha hummed getting dressed and putting an arm around the omega’s shoulder.

The two made their way to the RV and cars Jacqui, Andrea, Glenn, and T-dog all made it back except for Merle it seemed.

Ron cringed already imagining Daryl’s reaction to the news later.

Though there was a new face among them and judging by Carl’s yell and the fierce hug he’d given this stranger.

He must be Rick Grimes his omega’s father.

Carl told Ron all about his dad and softly cried into his shoulder thinking the Alpha was dead.

Yet here the man stood clean-shaven, healthy, and wearing the classic sheriff’s deputy uniform.

"Dad! You're alive." Carl said tears pricking the corners of his eyes and a bright smile on his face.

"I've missed you, son. God, I've missed you so much." Rick said hugging his wife and son closer to him.

The camp could only watch the family reunion with smiles except for Shane...

Heh, the fucker was probably pissed he wouldn't be able to bang Lori anymore Ron thought.

The young Alpha made his way over to the family a great plan conjuring in his head.

Introduce himself to Rick.

Slowly gain the older Alpha’s respect and show how great of a mate he could be for Carl.

Then officially get with the omega.

Simple.

Carl who noticed Ron approaching smiled unwrapping himself from his father's arms and going over to the blond.

"Dad this is Ron he's my... friend."

Rick raised a brow but shook the younger Alpha’s hand "Rick Grimes nice to meet you, son."

"Ron Anderson I've heard a lot about you, Sir." Ron said with a smile.

Lori who was behind them snickered a few tears still welling up in her eyes.

The rest of the day Carl spent catching up with his father and messing around with Ron.

Rick quickly realized just what sort of relationship the two had and it certainly wasn't just friends.

He surprisingly didn't mind if they were together since Ron seemed like a good kid but... being around them was awkward at times.

All the innuendos and flirting were making Rick feel older than he actually was.

Lori on the other hand seemed very used to it and even encouraged it at times like, right now.

The group were eating dinner at the bonfire and anyone who wasn't married or in a relationship could only stare at the teens.

Well, they technically weren't teens anymore but they certainly acted like ones.

"Hello, you're Rick Grimes, right?" A blond, omega woman came up to the Alpha "I'm Jessie Anderson."

Rick smiled "Nice to meet you must be Ron’s mother."

The woman smiled back with a nod whilst holding a small child in her arms "This is Sam and my husband Pete."

Rick looked over Jessie’s shoulder not even noticing the tall blond looming Alpha behind her.

"Nice to meet you, Rick"

Immediately, the ex-sheriff deputy's nerves were up he didn't like how Pete said his name.

He kept his cool though responding calmly "Aren't you guys gonna join us?"

Jessie gave a strained smile and politely shook her head "We ate already but thanks for the invite."

Then the 3 Andersons were gone with Pete practically shoving his wife away.

That Alpha was strange... Rick thought but let it go he’d discuss the issue with Shane later.

As for now-

"I can't wait for this whole shit show to be over then I can take you out on a proper date," Ron said smirking before turning to Rick "With your dad’s permission of course."

Rick had a feeling that smirk was the default whenever the Alpha talked to Carl.

It was strangely unnerving but also incredibly amusing.

"As I said earlier in your dreams, Anderson." Carl said but everyone could tell the omega just liked to challenge Ron.

The older thought about what Ron said and perhaps, he’d allow the Alpha to court his son...

However, it’d take a lot more than asking for permission to make Rick agree.

"Well, will just have to see- you know how to shoot a gun?"

Ron nodded just as Andrea, a blonde beta woman piqued up.

"He's amazing, better than me, and maybe even Walsh." Andrea said smiling as her sister Amy agreed.

Rick’s brow raised sending a look to his best friend who all but rolled his eyes.

"That's good. Would you mind teaching Carl here too?" Rick said as his son all but stared at him as if he’d grown two heads.

"It would be my honor, Sir.”

Ron laughed taking both his and Carl’s plates to throw away.

--------------------------------------------------------------

The next few days are rough on the group with Rick going back to the city to grab a bag of guns.

Carl practically pleaded with his father to not go but like Lori, was dismissed by the Alpha.

They manage to grab the bag but Glenn gets kidnapped and is taken by some beta gang called the Vatos.

And not even a day later Jim gets bit by a walker and Ed miraculously dies.

Ron had no doubt Shane helped do that.

And then the campsite gets overrun by walkers and Amy, the Morales family, and unfortunately, Pete die.

Ron cried for his father but didn't grieve he knew the man was bad he experienced it firsthand.

In fact, a part of him was relieved his abusive Alpha father wasn't around since Sam could grow up happy.

Carl comforted him throughout the entire time holding his hand and placing gentle kisses on his face.

Jessie did too, cradling his face and telling him how good of a son he was.

Ultimately, Ron got over Pete’s death in a healthy way and strived to be better than him.

"The CDC?" Carl said a look of uncertainty crossing his features as his father explains their next plan of action.

"Yes, they might have a cure," Rick said, "it's not too far from here and is a better option as opposed to traveling 100 miles of hostile territory."

"That's true but... how are we so sure the building’s not vacant we have lesser people than before if we get there and no one is in, we’re dead."

Carl rolled his eyes lightly hitting Ron’s chest.

"We aren't dead, we’d just need to sleep in the RV until the next day." The omega said as the Alpha shrugged.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night, princess. Though I'd hope that would be me." Ron said as the two began to bicker again.

Rick smiled unable to help himself the couple(not that carl admitted to them being that) was the comedic relief they all needed.

With everything that's happened so far Ron and Carl still managed to smile.

The older Alpha was impressed and considered just giving Anderson the thumbs up to court his son.

But Rick restrained himself, Ron would have to show him a bit more than just maturity if he wanted to be a part of the family.

Perhaps, once the group found a suitable home he could take the younger Alpha on runs with Carl.

The two would make a fantastic duo, Rick was sure.

"Alright, you two can ride with me and Lori or with Jessie and Sam in the RV with the others."

"I'll be with my mom and sam." Ron said as Carl nodded placing a gentle kiss on his cheek.

"I'm going with my parents then, see you." Carl said before going over to his smirking mother.

Dale whistled as everyone piled into their respectful vehicles.

"Those two are shameless."

Rick rolled his eyes at the beta male "Their still teens let them be."

"But they're so cute!" Sophia who was in Carol’s arms whined.

Dale laughed agreeing with the little girl and hopping in the RV with them.

Rick sighed looking over the quarry one last time before going over to his car.

He hoped Morgon was safe and got his message.

--------------------------------------------------------------

It was around noon when the group arrived at the CDC headquarters.

The area surrounding the building was full of corpses and swarms of flies.

The group parked the cars and RV before quietly heading out, killing any walkers that got a little too close.

Shane, "Shit. Shit. Keep it together."

Lori frowned her gut telling her if they didn't manage to find anyone they’d be in serious danger.

The rest of the group must’ve thought so too as each of them pounded on the doors.

"No one is here." T-dog said as Daryl growled shoving the man aside to face Rick head-on.

"You lead us into a damn graveyard!"

"He made a call." Shane said glancing around the panicking group.

"Well, it was a wrong call!" The younger Alpha Dixion shouted before Lori’s shrill cry interrupted them.

"Walker!"

Carl who was standing next to Ron quickly shoved a knife into the walker’s skull.

"Fort Benning is still an option." Shane said as Andrea and Glenn quickly cut in explaining how they didn't have enough gas or food to make it.

Rick sighed the yelling and arguing going in one ear and out the other his attention drawn to the security camera.

"Alright, everyone back to the cars." Shane barked as the group slowly began to disperse.

And Rick would've followed the other Alpha if not for the slight movement he just saw.

"It moved... the camera it moved."

"You're imagining it, Rick." Lori said frowning as her Alpha husband began to pound on the doors.

"Rick stop it, man. Listen to her! Cameras are automated, it's just gears they're winding down."

Shane growled trying to get his best friend to give it a rest already.

"I know you can hear me!" Rick shouted eyes widening as both Carl and Ron joined him.

"Let us in!"

"Please we need help!"

The two teens yelled pounding on the doors like the older alpha did.

Whatever possessed them to help him, rick was grateful for.

T-dog, Glenn, and Shane grabbed a hold of them dragging them away.

"You're killing us! You're killing us!"

Rick chanted getting out of his best friend’s hold and pounding even harder.

Shane’s patience wore thin and was on the verge of fighting the Alpha to stop.

When suddenly the doors to the CDC opened, downing the survivors in light.
