Chapter Text
Suddenly they were onto each other. The thing is, Sound was really cute and he kissed very well. He took the first step and closed the space between them, capturing Win's lips delicately. Win didn't mean to take it too far because that wouldn't be a good start for his plan, but then… It was too good. He was kissing him as if he was thirsty and his lips were water and he was enjoying that pretty much, thank you. Sound took a step back, as if he was in a daze and stared at his eyes and then Win was the one taking his lips back because he wanted more .
And that was not supposed to happen right now. Not yet. He pushed Sound a bit
"I think we should slow down a little, you know?" He said, trying not to stare at his lips.
"Sure. Not too fast." He said breathlessly.
"Yeah."
And then they were kissing again and falling down on his bed. The movement bringing him back to earth.
"Ok. We're going too fast." Sound said. "I want you to respect me."
"I respect you."
"And I respect you for respecting me." He shot back and Win smiled.
"I respect that." They both chuckled and he lied down beside Sound taking a deep breath and reorganizing his thoughts.
"I think I should go home." Sound said. He looked at Win and gave him a peck before getting up. "I enjoyed our date. Have a good night."
Once he left, Win went to the balcony to see him walking down the street.
"Goodnight, Sound." He said it loud enough for him to hear. Sound turned back and waved at him with a sweet smile.
"Oh, you're already falling in love with me ." Whispered Win with a grin.
"Oh, I'm going to make you wish you were dead." Said Sound to himself. "Poor boy."
***
At first Sound had thought that this was a terrible idea and bound to get nowhere, but the moment Win approached him at that concert with his eyes full of intentions, he knew it couldn't be that hard. Not for him.
He got himself in this mess because of Pat.
They were supposed to write a script for the university podcast - where they worked as interns - talking about how to lose someone in ten days, using some moves that tend to make guys run away. But, of course, Pat had nothing ready because he spent the last two days crying over his last date that dumped him.
"He didn't do it because I said I'll write it." Said Sound in his rescue. "How to lose a guy in 10 days. I thought I'd be better at it than him, so I volunteered. I'll have it ready in two weeks, I promise." He said confidently. But truth to be told, he was not.
That would probably give him a big headache, but he couldn't let Pat get a 0 right after being dumped. That was too mean even for him.
And that's why the next night he went for a concert to find his victim and as if fallen from the sky, Win showed up in front of him and asked him out. So now he just had to set the timer on and make Win dump him in less than 10 days.
Easy peasy.
So the next step was getting a second date. And ruining it. He thought well and decided that calling and asking for one the next day could look clingy to some eyes, so that's exactly what he did first thing in the morning.
"Hello?" He could hear the sleepiness in Win's voice.
"Win, it's me. Sound." It was 6 am on a Saturday.
"Is everything alright? What time is it?" That was more of a rhetorical question but Sound answered anyway.
"6:05 now. Did you sleep well?"
"Mmmn, I guess." Sound tried not to laugh.
"So, Win, I'm just calling because I loved our time together last night… And I was wondering if you'd like to go out tonight? I'm not sure if you're a fan, but I won these tickets for a match and-"
"Wait! The big game happening tonight?" He sounded more awake now.
"Hum, yes, I believe so." He got him.
"Oh, woah. Yeah, of course. Damn, I thought those were sold out?"
"I have my ways…" Sound said. "So, meet you at 7?"
"Sure." He could bet that Win slept as soon as he ended the call, he wasn't even properly awake to be honest. Sound smiled.
He was an early bird, but not to that extent. He only woke up before six to annoy Win and now he couldn't go back to bed even if he wanted to, so there was a lot of free time ahead of him.
He decided to tidy up his condo and then work on some new songs he had been postponing. That all got him entertained enough to only notice how late it was when his alarm went off. Sound got ready as soon as he could - he even got a jersey - and drove to the stadium.
Win texted him his location and soon he found him. Sound smiled when he saw their jerseys were identical.
"Look at us. Couple shirts?" He teased. Win rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, are we dating these other 15 thousand people here?" Sound shrugged.
"I didn't notice them, only you." Win rolled his eyes again but now he had a smile on his face. "Shall we?" Sound offered his hand and Win held it.
They had nice seats, actually, and Sound could see Win's excitement as soon as they got there. He almost felt bad for what he was about to put him through.
The first half went well and they were both having fun. Sound wasn't really a fan, but the cheering all around them was getting to him. On the break the kiss cam actually happened to stop on them and Win kissed him hard and fast. But as soon as the second half started, Sound needed to put his plan in action so he pulled Win's jersey to have his attention.
"I'm thirsty." He said. Win nodded absentmindedly. Sound tried again. "Can you get me a Coke?" Win looked at him and seemed to think a lot before answering.
"Sure. I'll be right back." Well… That was easy. Sound waited as Win went out to get their drinks but it didn't take that long before he got back and there wasn't even a score.
"Thank you, babe." Win chuckled with incredulity at the pet name but had his focus on the game again too soon.
Sound focused too and realized they were about to take a penalty kick and coughed a little too loud. Win looked at him.
"This isn't zero." He said.
"What?" Win said, one eye on the game and the other on him. Sound could feel his distress.
"This isn't Coke Zero. I don't drink it with sugar." Win focused his gaze on Sound now. "Can you get me another one, please?"
"Right now? They're about to kick-"
"Babe? Please?" Sound cringed internally. Lord, the things he was doing for this podcast. Win scoffed and went out again, stealing glances at the game but once they gave the shot - and scored - he wasn't on sight.
Sound felt a little bad but at the same time he was satisfied. It was working, he thought. Win got back and almost threw the Coke on him. Sound kissed his cheek to thank him.
"They scored." He said.
"Yeah I know. Not that I could see." Oh he was mad.
"You can see the next one." Sound comforted him, but by the end of it, that was the only goal they got.
As they left the field it was obvious that Win was upset and trying not to say anything. He was like a dark cloud going around all those cheerful people.
"Aw, don't be upset, babe. There will be other games." Sound said and stole a kiss. "This was fun. Let's have another date soon."
"Of course, babe ." The anger was dripping from his lips. Sound, however, had a toothy smile as he walked back to his car.
First strike. Now waiting was all he had to do.
***
Sound had zero to no faith in men so he truly believed that the game fiasco and the pet name on a second date would be enough to send Win running as far as he could from him. So he was totally caught off guard when he saw the text asking him out for a movie date on Tuesday.
A movie date, of all.
He agreed, of course, and started thinking of what to do to mess that up too. He looked up the movies available and decided to choose the cheesy romcom. Truth to be told, he loved romance movies, but he expected Win to hate it so that would be it.
When he arrived at the movie Win was already waiting with popcorn and drinks. He gave him a peck before handing the cup.
"Coke. Zero." He said with a smirk and damn it, it made Sound blush.
"Thank you. Did you buy the tickets?"
"Yes. I know I should've asked you what you wanted to see first, but I got here earlier and thought it'd be best to get it. I hope you don't mind." Ugh, so what was Sound supposed to do now?
"It's fine. What are we seeing?"
"It's a romcom." Win said. Sound looked at him funny, not expecting that.
"Really?" They were on their way to the theater.
"I thought you'd like it." He said with a grin and oh . Sound knew what was happening. Win thought he wouldn't like the movie and that's why he picked. For the game. He was taking revenge.
"Aw, I can't believe you already know me so well, Winny. How did you know romcom is my favorite genre?" Win stopped smiling.
"Is it?" He sounded displeased.
"It's going to be fun!"
And the problem was that that actually happened. It was not only fun, but Win was having fun too and Sound didn't know what to do to ruin the mood. Since Win was enjoying his time, he went for annoyance again.
"Hey, babe? How have you been?" Win was confused.
"Fine? Why are you asking now?"
"Because I care about you? What's with that tone?" He wasn't whispering anymore and Win got exasperated, looking around. Someone was shushing them from behind.
"Sound. Babe. Can we talk later? The movie is good right? We can keep this when it's done." Was he using pet names now? Sound was going to throw up. What was wrong with Win?
"What if I don't want to wait?"
"Can you shut up, we're trying to watch the movie here!" Said a guy behind them.
"Are you screaming at me?" Sound said turning back and knocking the popcorn down. "Tone it down or you'll have to deal with my boyfriend because he won't let you talk like that with me!" He said and he could hear the air-intake Win had. The guy got up and Sound could swear he was 3 meters tall.
"Let's solve this outside then." He said and walked out and then Sound was at loss. Was he serious? Fuck. What did he do?
"Are you crazy?" Win asked. "He's going to kill me."
"Maybe if we don't leave…" Oh he really messed it up this time.
"I'm not a coward. And we're disturbing everyone here, come on. That's enough." Well. At least now Win would definitely dump him.
They went out and for sure that guy was waiting for them. Win took a deep breath and put his hands up in rendition.
"I think we can talk it-" Before he could finish what he was saying the guy punched his face.
"What the fuck, are you insane?" Sound roared. "I'm going to call the police on you, you sicko!" But the guy wasn't even listening; he just punched Win and went back inside as if nothing had happened.
Sound turned to Win with worry written all over his face. Damn! He felt so bad, it was all his fault and he didn't mean for things to get this far.
"Win, oh, I'm so sorry." He tried to touch his face but Win pushed him away.
"Can you-" He brushed his hair back in frustration. His lip was cut and regret was eating Sound alive. "I'll go home."
"Wait. Let me help you with that."
"No. I can do it myself, just leave me alone, ok? You've done enough today." He walked away then without looking back.
In that moment Sound felt like he accomplished his goal. Win wouldn't want to see him ever again.
Second, and final, strike.
So why did he feel so bad about it?
***
Sound was working on a melody he's been stuck on for a few months when he got a text. He didn't mind checking because he was busy and his friends knew that if it was something urgent they should call him. So it was late and he was already going home when he saw it was from Win. He even stopped in his tracks. Win? He thought that was over.
hey. sorry for the way i talked with you that day, i got a little out of myself. we're having a boys' night at mine on friday, would you like to come? it's just me and the chinzhillas and i'd like to see you again
Huh? He couldn't be serious, right? Sound made that whole mess and he got punched because of it, was he seriously apologizing? And asking him on another date? What was wrong with him?
Fuck, why did he care anyway? He locked his phone and ignored that text for some time. The next morning, though, he couldn't stand anymore and finally texted back.
sure. it sounds fun.
And that's how he got a third date and no idea of what to do with it.
It was his first time meeting Win's friends and he didn't know what to expect from them so, yeah, he was a little nervous. Whatever that meant. He was human after all.
"Hi!" A short cute guy opened the door. "You must be Sound. I'm Por! Come on." He got in and soon found everyone in the living room.
"Look who's here!" Another guy screamed with a gummy smile. "It's your looooooove, Win." He was drunk.
"Shut up, Gun. Hey, Sound. You came." He had a little smile and looked tipsy.
"You invited me." He said. Win looked as if deep in thought. Sound felt weird, he didn't know what to do now.
"We were just waiting for you to start the karaoke." Por said. Gun jumped and got a mic.
"I'm first. Me and Tinn, we're singing a duet. Come on." He pulled Tinn by his hand. Sound looked around at loss and once his eyes locked with Win's he gestured for him to sit next to him. So he did.
"Hey." Win said again and. Snuggled Sound. He genuinely did that and Sound couldn't react.
"Hey? Are you alright?" Win chuckled and gave him personal space again.
"Sorry. I just wanted to-" He shrugged. Sound was side-eyeing him very hard. Tinn and Gun were singing and they were pretty good, to be honest, but his head was fuzzy with Win's behavior. "Listen," Win started again. "Last time… what was that, huh?" Sound didn't meet his eyes. "I mean, that wasn't you." He sighed. "Ok, obviously I don't know you that well yet, but I think that wasn't the same guy that I met on our first date, or even the second… I don't know, man. Sorry, I'm not making sense. I just… Sorry for the way I treated you at the end, that wasn't nice." Ok, so apparently he was a drunk talker - he hadn't seen Win talking that much since he met him. And Sound felt terrible once again.
"You have nothing to apologize for, Win. I'm sorry, ok?" He held one of his hands and started drawing slow circles over it. "That really wasn't me and I'm really sorry. For acting like that and especially for that punch." He stared at Win's lips and saw that the bruise was still there. Win put on half of a smile.
"You could kiss it better." Sound's eyes went up to his, surprised. Was it a good idea? This all felt too real, suddenly. Honest. His body leaned closer anyway and with only a breath away from kissing Win, Gun screamed and made them jump apart.
"It's your turn now, lovebirds!" Absolutely not, thought Sound. Win, however, got up and pulled Sound with him.
"Let's go. I know you're a singer." Does he?
"I picked just the perfect song!" Said Por with a bright smile on his face. He played and Love at First Sight by Tattoo Colour started. Sound wasn't going to back out so he sang. And then Win was singing too.
And his voice was beautiful. And soft. And soothing. And he was staring at Sound the whole time and he felt giddy. Something was happening with him and he didn't want to find out what it was, but he was having fun in those few minutes the song lasted. And when it was over Win caught his face with both hands and kissed him deeply and there was definitely something happening with Sound but he didn't want to know.
Tonight he would just go with the flow.
