Summary
He recalled the countless times he had lain naked on the Doctor's operating table, whether he was being gutted or dismembered. None of these experiments had ever made him feel so tormented and humiliated as it did today. Why was he being treated this way, had he done so much wrong in his life that he somehow deserved it? He asked himself these questions, but he didn't have the strength, nor the heart, to find the answers.
After the loss of his gnosis and a scarring encounter with a group of eremites, the beaten and weakened Balladeer recovers in a Fatui base of operation in Fontaine, under the watchful eye of the Doctor.
