King Dimitri grunted in pain after he was struck by a fire spell. Dark mages surrounded him, preventing him from any means of escape. He tightly gripped his broken silver lance. Ready to fight them with all the strength he has left in him.
Just when the leader of the group was about to order them to attack. All of sudden, an earth-shattering roar caused them to flinch except the Dimitri. Each of the mages expressed pure terror as a long shadow appeared over them. Followed by the sound of thundering footsteps, causing the earth to shake until it stopped.
"LEAVE OR ELSE!!!"
Most of the dark mages cowardly fled via a wrap spell, leaving their leader behind. His face contorted hard in anger and fear that he was left behind.
"If you're wise, you should leave or you'd rather die by one of us?" Dimitri was giving the enemy an option.
The dark mage snapped and was about to hurl a dark spell at him. But then, a powerful blizzard struck him first and instantly killed him on the spot.
Dimitri shook his head before turning around and met with a familiar sight. It was a massive beast like no other. An amalgamation of a horse with wolfish features in its face and front legs. It even has a sharp, slightly curved single horn, and a whip-like tail with tufts of blue hair. That matched with the long, ragged mane of theirs. While their eyes were the softest shade of brown.
Terrifying as it may look, Dimitri did not fear the beast. He simply smiled gratefully at them for coming to his aid.
The beast soon began to glow and morphed into something else. And once the transformation was over, there stood a young maiden with sky-blue hair.
“Thank goodness, I made it in time,” Marianne said with pure relief. “When the villagers you rescued told me you were facing those horrible mages alone. I rushed here as fast as I could.”
“I'm fine, my beloved. Really!” said the king.
“But you're bleeding!” His fiancee shook her head in disagreement.
“Just a scratch that can be easily healed. There's no need to worry.” Dimitri slightly chuckles at her concern.
Marianne pouted at him. “At least let me cast a healing spell just to be sure you don't get any infection.”
“Alright, you may.” Dimitri allowed.
As she cast the spell on his injured arm, Dimitri started to think that Marianne had been spending too much time with Dedue and Felix. Those two always worry about him. But then again, he was no better than them since he was constantly worry for Marianne whenever she joined the battle.
Even though she could turn into a powerful creature. He would do anything to keep her safe.
