Neito Monoma.
What was there to say about him? He was a man you hated,a man you still hate to this very day. The sentiment was shared throughout all those who knew and cared about you for the boy was once your friend,though he chose popularity over you.
You and Monoma were childhood best friends,having met in the second grade and you had been glued together at the hip ever since. Which was why it surprised your entire family when he betrayed you.
It was the start of your last year of middle school,Popular kids got worse,if they could get more evil than they already were. Having seen this,You and Monoma made a promise to not leave each other or join said group. With the trust you had,the two of you kept this promise until middle of the semester..
Monoma had got a girlfriend,Her name was unknown to you. Maybe that was your brain protecting you from everything that happened,blocking out the terrible memories of that rotten girl. But,regardless of if you could remember her face or not,She was the most popular girl in the school,though it wasn't deserved. While she acted like a saint to your dearest friend,she tortured the most shy kids in school and made some teachers consider quitting because of her attitude.
Still,Monoma kept his loyalty to you until he was offered by his "lovely" girlfriend to join the popular kids which he gladly accepted,he was sick of living in the shadows and only being known for being a Monoma. He wanted to make a different name for himself. Which meant leaving you behind,which you were less than happy about.
You argued with him when he told you,which you were well within your right to,and you attracted the attention of some of your classmates because of your anger towards the boy as they had never seen you glare at him in a non-teasing way. This kept up until the teacher came to teach the class,which promptly made Monoma wander off to his seat,mumbling as he walked away.
Soon,Lunch rolled around. You sat alone since your only friend had left you. Well,that was exaggerated. Sure,you had other friends,but you had to sit with those in your class,which Monoma was in,but he was obviously sitting at the popular table. People looked at you in pity,some of your classmates passing by just to say hi as they could tell you just weren't having the best day,which was rare for a bunch of rowdy middle schoolers,yet it was appreciated,even if none of them sat with you.
You were minding your business,stuck in your thoughts as you wondered why Monoma was doing this and poking at your food,when suddenly,liquid spilled all over you,soaking you from head to toe,making you sticky all over. You looked to see the culprit,There was the blonde you had been friends with since as far back as you could remember. He was holding an empty milk carton,of course. The old milk carton cliché.
"What the hell Neito!?" You screamed,a new sense of anger lacing your voice. He simply looked into your [E/C] eyes,his icy cold blue ones staring right through your soul,laughing.
"You really thought I cared about you? You were never worth my time,nor were you ever my friend. I only stayed by your side because you were so easy to stay with. You're such an idiot for believing I actually cared for someone as lowly as you." He announced.
His words felt like knives,they just kept stabbing you over and over again. He suddenly announced something you told him in confidence,your greatest insecurity,and your eyes went wide as your mouth hung open. He had swore on his life he wouldn't tell anyone about it,how could he be so cruel to someone he spent almost his entire life with? What did you do wrong? Water clouded your eyes until a girl punched him which caused the lunch room to erupt into a hoard of gasps and chatter. The girl didn't look affected by the reaction she caused as she looked down at Monoma,her eyes filled with disgust.
"Pathetic." She whispered,only loud enough for you to hear. It's safe to say she kicked his ass.
"You." She looked straight at you,but softened her glance slightly,but slowly built it back up.
"Come with me."
You did as she said,You followed the girl down the hallway,far from the Lunch room,far away from Monoma and the humiliation he brought onto you. She finally stopped infront of the Janitor's closet,not showing any sign of wanting to enter.
"Thank you.." You said in a quiet voice.
"It was nothing,I protect the innocent. I'm Leiko,And you?"
"[Name], [Name] [Last Name]."
From then on,Leiko was your best friend,Cold when she needed to be,but was very protective over people she loved,you being one of them.
Soon,It went around school Monoma got his ass kicked by a girl,which meant he got the same amount of shame you got as middle school boys are ruthless. Though,Leiko was proud of what she did,She knew she wanted everyone to know Monoma was a mean little bitch boy,and she got what she wanted. She was the best friend you needed,not just the one you wanted. She didn't trust easily,so when she did,She wouldn't dream of hurting the person she trusted.
You guys talked about getting into UA,You went through the trials or tests and eagerly awaited your response.
To your surprise and delight,you both got in!
The thing was you knew Monoma was there for those trials aswell as you saw him during said trials. You had to physically hold Leiko back from beating him into a bloody pulp,though you wanted to do the same,whispering promises of him not getting in as his pride would get in the way and he'd end up getting rejected. Though,deep down,you knew he'd get in. He was cruel,and he wasn't the boy you knew before,but you still knew him inside and out. Because of this,you knew how talented he was and how he could probably charm his way past any obstacles he couldn't physically get around.
So,even though you hated him with every ounce of your body,you knew that you'd probably have to have an unwanted reunion with your ex-best friend. Maybe he changed? God no,He was stubborn as a bull. All you could do was pray to [whoever you believe in] that you got into a different class than him and that he'd leave you alone. Maybe he'd leave you alone either way,you had Leiko after all! He was terrified of her,so you had yourself your own protection against him!
So here you are now,Stepping into UA,With Leiko at your side with some newfound confidence brewing within you. No,you wouldn't worry about Monoma,he was now old news. You'd make new friends,get good grades,get set on a good path to become a hero,and possibly find someone to fall in love with! You'd start a new chapter without Monoma intertwined within the pages,he wouldn't bother you now.
