Summary:

When Mojo Jojo forgets to show up to his son Boomer’s soccer game, his wife HIM is not happy. Not happy at all.

Notes:

Hey everybody, this story is another one shot about HIM and Mojo Jojo. It’s meant to be read after or alongside HIM’s Secret Admirer, so read that fic first for context. Anyway, on to my usual author’s notes.

Warnings:
There will be cursing and some mature themes in this story.

Disclaimer:
I don’t own the Powerpuff Girls, Cartoon Network does. I just like writing dumb fanfics with their characters. Also, if there’s any OOC moments, so sorry.

Rating: T

Work Text:

HIM opened his catlike eyes to one of his favorite sights. Mojo Jojo, his husband of six years was stroking his cheek with an adoring expression in his eyes.

HIM tilted his chin up and fluttered his lashes, his way of asking for a kiss. His husband happily obliged, and the couple didn’t break apart for quite some time.

“Good morning my jewel. I see you are in quite good spirits today.” Mojo remarked fondly.

“Clearly I’m not the only one who’s enthusiastic, hmm?” HIM replied, smiling flirtatiously.

The two villains held each other for a while, relishing in this peaceful moment together. After a while of laying together, the couple got up to start the day. While HIM was putting his makeup on at his vanity, he asked, “Mojo darling, do you remember what day it is today?”

“I did not realize there was anything notable about this particular day.” He stopped what he was doing. “Is it your birthday?”

“No. Try again.” HIM gave his trademark grin.

“Our anniversary?”

“No. One more guess.”

“The boys’ birthday?”

“No, Boomer’s soccer game is today.“

“Soccer game? What are you talking about?”

“You know, the hugely important soccer game that he’s been telling us about for weeks. The one that determines whether his team goes to the championships. The one you promised you’d be there for.” HIM hinted, not at all subtly.

“Oh yes, that soccer game.“ Mojo looked sheepish.

“Exactly. So, I need you home from your observatory early today, no later than 5:30. I know you’re working on your huge new weapon for your plan to destroy the Powerpuff Girls but this game is really special to Boomer, so please be on time.” HIM pleaded.

“Of course my love, I would not miss such an important day for our son. You have my word.” Mojo promised, walking over to where his wife was seated.

“I’m holding you to that.” HIM winked, then pressed a chaste kiss to his cheek.

They suddenly heard the commotion of their sons getting up for the day and smiled. Always the loud ones, their boys.

💙

“Where’s the food? I’m starving.” Butch commented, pushing past his brothers to get to the kitchen.

“Get out of my way Boomer, I gotta piss.” Brick snapped at his brother.

“You can’t be a jerk to me Brick, it’s my day today.” Boomer retorted.

“Whatever dude. Just go so I can get ready to suffer at school all day.”

Boomer rolled his eyes. They had been going to school since kindergarten, and Brick still complained about it.

Back when the Rowdyruff Boys were first created, they didn’t really have to do anything. They would go cause chaos all day and then go home to HIM or Mojo, whichever parent had them at the time.

But after the two villains decided they needed to become better parents to the boys and moved in together, Brick, Boomer, and Butch were immediately enrolled at Pokey Oaks Kindergarten, the only option for schooling they had.

Not only were they expected to attend school, but they were expected to “put in effort” as their parents called it. At first, the three brothers pitched a fit. They refused to talk to anyone, they refused to work, they refused to do anything. It was even worse that the Powerpuffs were there too. They often argued with the girls to make themselves feel better.

Then, after a while, Boomer and Butch started to enjoy school a bit. They were making friends with kids outside of their little trio and finding hobbies they enjoyed.

That’s how Boomer found soccer actually. He tried out for his elementary school’s team in 3rd grade and he quickly became one of the best players. Butch had been into photography since kindergarten, so he joined yearbook as soon as he was able to.

Meanwhile, Brick took a lot longer to adjust to school. He only went to school because he had to, and he only tried because he knew he’d get grounded if he didn’t. He didn’t really talk to anyone outside of his brothers and hated being there. Finally, in 4th grade, Brick found karate and that motivated him to do well in school, as well as make friends.

Now the boys were 12 and were in 6th grade. Boomer had pretty much been offered admission to the soccer team the minute he arrived at tryouts, the others being blown away by his skill on the field.

That brought Boomer’s thoughts back to today. This was perhaps the most important game that he had ever prepared for. His team had to win.

He couldn’t wait to have his whole family there to see him and his team win the game and be victorious. But at the same time, Boomer was anxious beyond belief. He just had a nagging feeling that it wouldn’t go well. He hoped his intuition was wrong.

💙

A short while later, the Jojo family was eating breakfast at the table, everyone in a somewhat good mood. Brick and Butch were having a contest (whoever could eat the fastest and fit the most food in their mouth would be the winner) and HIM and Mojo were conversing amongst themselves.

Everyone was content, that was except Boomer. He was pushing his food around his plate in an almost anxious manner, and wasn’t speaking to anyone.

HIM quickly took notice of this strange behavior. “You need to eat darling. You’re going to need energy for today.”

His son merely hummed in response.

“Boomer honey, what’s the matter?”

“Nothing, I’m fine. I was just thinking about the game today.”

“You’ll do just fine. Besides, all of us will be there to support you. Right dear?” HIM shifted his eyes to his husband.

“Yes, of course. Boomer, I promise I will be at your game today.” Mojo assured his son.

Boomer smiled and tried to have a few bites of his breakfast, feeling a little better.

“Alright, it’s time. Brick and Butch, you need to be ready to go when I come pick you up so you can eat and get your homework done before your brother’s game.” HIM instructed.

“Or we could just not do our homework at all.” Brick slyly suggested. His parents narrowed their eyes.

“Brick, you are aware of the expectations we have for you. If you refuse to complete your assignments, you will not get to do karate anymore.” Mojo sternly reminded his son.

“Whatever. I was just kidding anyway.” Brick rolled his eyes and grabbed his backpack. His brothers did the same, said goodbye to Mojo, and headed to the front door with their mother.

“I’ll be back in a bit, honey!” HIM called to his husband before shutting the door.

Outside, an argument ensued. “I call shotgun!” Brick called, racing to the front passenger door.

“No! It’s my turn!” Butch protested, also running to the door and pushing into his brother.

“Actually, Boomer will get shotgun since he’s not fighting for it like a wild animal.” HIM declared. The boys pouted and got into the back of the car.

Throughout the drive, Boomer was quiet and distant from his family. He kept running over scenarios of what could happen at the soccer game in his head, each one getting worse than the last.

HIM glanced over at his son every few minutes, giving him a reassuring smile. The boy smiled back, but he didn’t feel much better.

Finally, the family arrived. HIM found a place to park and the boys began clambering out of the car. Brick and Butch ran ahead, laughing and joking with each other.

“Let’s go, soccer champ!” Brick sarcastically called to Boomer.

“Hang on honey! You’re forgetting something!” HIM gave the red Rowdyruff a kiss on the forehead.

“Mom! We’re not six anymore!” He groaned. His mother just laughed and did the same to Butch, who also griped about the ‘sissy stuff’.

HIM turned to Boomer. “I know you have practice after school, so I’ll see you at your game, ok darling?” Boomer turned pale at the mention of the game.

“What if we lose? You won’t be mad right?” The blue Rowdyruff asked.

“I think you’re going to do just fine. And even if you did lose, I would never be mad at you. You know I’m proud of you right?”

Boomer smiled. The demon gave his son a kiss on the forehead and ushered him towards his brothers.

“Bye boys! I love you!” HIM called. The boys groaned again, but mumbled it back anyway and headed into the school.

A short time after HIM returned home, it was time for Mojo to head to his observatory. The couple walked to the front door, hand in hand (or rather, hand in claw).

“What time did we say you’d be back by today?” HIM said to his husband.

“5:30. I assure you that I will be on time, my dear.” The villainous chimpanzee vowed.

“That’s right! Don’t make me have to teleport you home myself!” The demon joked, bending over to kiss his husband.

With traded “I love yous”, Mojo fired up his jet pack and was off to work.

HIM smiled fondly and closed the door. He made his way to his throne room. After all, he did have many Ruler of the Underworld duties to attend to.

💙

Several hours later, HIM had managed to complete his mile long list of royal duties, reorganize his massive closet, do his exercise routine, take a luxurious morning bath, begin planning some schemes to mess with the Powerpuff Girls, go shopping with Sedusa, pick up Brick and Butch from school, prepare a meal for them, and get them started on their homework. Sometimes he wondered how he did it all.

Said boys had finished their homework and were hanging out in their rooms before they had to leave. It was 5:25, and HIM was sure Mojo would be home any minute. The game started at 6, but he wanted to be a little early.

While he did tell his husband to be home by 5:30, HIM would accept a few minutes after that, since he could just teleport his family and himself to the school.

5:30 came and went. It’s fine, he’s probably just running behind, he thought. He continued reading his magazine (the latest issue of Vogue had just dropped), humming to himself.

15 minutes later and still no Mojo. HIM was getting a little annoyed, but there was still a good amount of time left. At that point, Brick and Butch came downstairs to grab all the snacks they wanted for the game and stuff them in HIM’s purse. They went on their DS, waiting patiently for their father.

It was now 5:55. “Dude, where is Dad? We gotta go.” Brick complained. The demon was pretty ticked now. He hadn’t asked for anything too difficult, just for his husband to be home early. He knew Mojo wouldn’t arrive in the next five minutes. Mind made up, he stood.

“We can’t wait for your father. We need to go.” He announced.

“Mom, can you put my DS in your purse?” Brick requested.

“No Brick, we are going to watch your brother, you’re not going to ignore him the whole time.” HIM glared at his son.

He grabbed his sons’ hands and teleported them away. They took their seats in the stands and Butch started rifling through his mother’s purse, looking for the snacks.

HIM briefly wondered if Mojo had been held up by the Powerpuffs, but he quickly spotted them with their father Professor Utonium on the other side of the stands.

Looks like I can’t blame them this time… damn. He noticed the teams were making their way out to the field.

“Look, it’s Boom! We should embarrass him.” Brick suggested, while Butch pointed and laughed at his brother. HIM waved to his son and Boomer returned it nervously.

Boomer’s heart sunk when he stepped out on the field and only saw his mom and his brothers in the stands. His dad was missing and he had promised him that he’d be there.

He tried to ignore the butterflies in his stomach and the bad feeling in his gut as the game started.

Here goes nothing.

💙

The first half of the game started and Mojo still wasn’t there. HIM was mad now. He had better show up after halftime or he would pay.

The second half began and HIM noticed Boomer’s focus and confidence draining by the second. He desperately wished he could help his child but he couldn’t. Brick and Butch had powered through all the snacks and were now commenting on their brother’s odd behavior.

“Why’s he playing so badly? He never misses goals.” Brick scoffed. “Yeah, he’s such a mess right now.” Butch agreed. They were being so loud with their criticism that heads started to turn, including the Powerpuffs.

“Boys, that isn’t helping. Cut him some slack, he’s petrified. And quiet down, you got the attention of those Powerpuffs. I don’t want to deal with them right now.” HIM reprimanded.

“I’m just saying what everyone’s thinking.” Brick snapped.

“Brick Jojo, your father is already on my short list, do you want to join him?” He threatened, his demonic voice starting to slip through slightly.

Brick rapidly shook his head no. “Then you stop, do you understand?”

The lead Rowdyruff huffed and turned away from his mother angrily. Butch snickered, but quickly stopped when he saw the evil look in HIM’s eyes. He knew his mom wasn’t playing around anymore.

Finally the game ended and the shit show got even more shitty. Boomer’s team had lost. They didn’t score a single goal while the opposing team got 3.

HIM felt his heart shatter for Boomer. He couldn’t even fathom how devastated his son must’ve felt in that moment. His heart clenched as he saw his son’s face fall and tears form in his eyes.

The Townsville side of the stands was shocked. Brick and Butch were staring wide eyed at their brother and then back at HIM. Many spectators had looks of disappointment or sympathy on their faces.
Even the Powerpuff Girls looked sad for Boomer.

The teams exited the field, one jovially, the other forlorn. In the locker room, Boomer tried hard not to cry in front of everyone, but it was really difficult not to after everything that had happened. Not only did his team lose, but they were also no longer eligible for the championships.

But the worst part, his father had broken his promise and didn’t even bother to come. He felt let down, and honestly, he felt lied to.

15 minutes later, the team was released and Boomer walked out dejectedly, not speaking to anyone. He felt his eyes burning with tears and he was having trouble holding them in.

The moment he saw his mom and his brothers, he finally broke down. Boomer usually didn’t like to be emotional in front of so many people but he was past the point of caring.

He ran to his mother and buried his face in his chest, sobbing the whole time. “Dad said he would be here!” Brick and Butch didn’t even have the heart to tease their brother, actually feeling pretty bad about the whole situation.

Meanwhile, HIM’s mind was like a hurricane had touched down in it. He felt a whirlwind of different emotions, sadness, fury, disappointment, and betrayal. Even worse, he had no idea how to make his son feel better. All he could do was hug him and let him vent.

“I knew we would lose! I had a feeling Dad wouldn’t show up, he’s been obsessing over his new weapon for his Powerpuff scheme. I’m so mad, he told me he was going to come!”

“I know honey. Trust me, I am livid with your father right now. He made you a promise and he didn’t keep it. He owes you an apology, and I’m going to make sure you get one, ok? HIM kissed Boomer on the forehead, trying to comfort him.

Boomer nodded silently, not even complaining about the overt affection like he normally did. He needed the love right now.

“Do you want to go get ice cream? It might make you feel better.”

“We do!” Brick and Butch exclaimed. HIM shot them an icy glare and the boys sealed their lips.

“Ok.” Boomer said sadly. The demon grabbed his children’s hands and teleported them away.

💙

The ice cream trip was unsuccessful. Boomer barely ate his ice cream, and he had a frown on his face the entire time they were there. Not even his brothers’ jokes or his mother’s comforting words helped.

The family returned home at around 8:30 and Boomer went to bed early, wordlessly retreating to his room. Brick and Butch followed suit around an hour or two later, whispering to each other about Boomer the entire way up the stairs.

It was now almost midnight and Mojo still wasn’t home. HIM decided he was not going to bed until his husband returned, as he had a couple of words for him.

The Ruler of the Underworld was now enraged beyond belief. He had never been so furious with his husband before, he wanted to throttle him.

He had another splendid bath in an attempt to calm down but to no avail. He was still outraged. Not even a couple margaritas helped take the edge off.

He put on his nightgown and matching robe and sat fuming, waiting for his husband. Mojo was in for it when he got home. He was going to remember why HIM was the ultimate evil.

Finally, at half past midnight, he heard the familiar sound of a jet pack approaching and landing outside. The front door opened.

💙

From the moment he stepped inside his house, Mojo could tell something was amiss. The entire house was so dark, he could barely see his hand in front of his face. The air around him felt cold and dark, almost menacing. He knew these signs, it only became this wicked when his wife was feeling extremely wrathful.

He wondered why HIM was so upset but then he remembered. Not only was he incredibly late coming home, but he never showed up to Boomer’s soccer game. He had promised his son he’d be there and he hadn’t followed through.

He went up the stairs and walked slowly down the long hallway, dreading stepping into his bedroom and facing his wife. He knew HIM would be infuriated by his actions. The malicious vibe in the air only worsened on the way.

The bedroom was dark, cold, and had the same sinister feeling to it. Mojo couldn’t see his wife, but he certainly felt his presence.

“Finally back, are we?” The voice that emanated from the corner of the room was low, harsh, and had a sort of growl to it.

“Darling, please allow me to explain what happened tonight. I simply lost track of time my dear.” Mojo tried to rationalize with HIM.

“Oh, just lost track of time, hmm? WELL SAY THAT PITIFUL EXCUSE TO YOUR SON AND SEE WHAT HE THINKS!” His voice had its feminine tone to it again, but it quickly switched back to its demonic quality.

The other villain gulped audibly as the throne like chair spun around at breakneck speed and light immediately returned to the room.

HIM’s eyes were glowing red, his teeth jagged and sharp, and there was smoke emitting from his body, like he was about to burst into flames if he got any angrier.

“HOW DARE YOU! YOU MAKE A PROMISE TO ME, TO YOUR CHILD, AND THIS IS WHAT YOU DO?! YOU FLAKE ON HIM AND YOU BREAK HIS TRUST?! DO YOU KNOW HOW DEVASTATED HE WAS?! HIS TEAM LOST AND HE COULD’VE USED YOUR SUPPORT AND YOUR COMFORT! BUT YOU DIDN’T DO THAT, DID YOU?!”

“My love, please calm down. We can talk about this-“ the evil genius was cut off.

“DON’T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN YOU PATHETIC PRIMATE! IF YOU WANTED TO TALK ABOUT IT YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN HERE ON TIME LIKE I ASKED YOU TO BE!” The magazine HIM had been reading earlier was now on fire.

“BOOMER HAS BEEN INCONSOLABLE ALL DAY BECAUSE OF YOUR SELFISHNESS! YOU SPENT ALL DAY WORKING ON A WEAPON FOR YOUR WORLD DOMINATION PLAN WHEN YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN WITH YOUR FAMILY. I DIDN’T ASK FOR MUCH, ALL I WANTED WAS FOR YOU TO COME HOME EARLY TODAY. INSTEAD YOU MADE EMPTY PROMISES AND NOW LOOK WHERE WE ARE!” The demon was shaking with rage.

“What did you want me to do?! Leave early and potentially ruin my perfect plans?! Do you not understand that I do these things for us, you infernal pest?!” Mojo yelled back.

HIM looked as if he just been smacked. “YES I WANTED YOU TO LEAVE EARLY BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT YOU SAID YOU WOULD DO! AND IF YOU DO ALL THESE THINGS FOR US LIKE YOU CLAIM THEN WHY DID YOU NOT DO THIS ONE THING FOR YOUR SON? THAT’S ALL HE WANTED!”

The gravity of what he had done finally occurred to Mojo when he saw that his wife was now crying. HIM rarely cried, the last time being 6 years ago when Mojo proposed. For him to be sobbing now, the chimpanzee knew that he had truly hurt his son and his wife.

“My beauty, I truly apologize for what I have done. I did not intend to upset you to this degree. Please accept my apology.” He tried to touch his wife but HIM pulled away.

“I’m not accepting anything from you until you apologize to our son and until he forgives you.” He stated with finality, trying to dry his eyes with a handkerchief.

The couple sat in a heavy, uncomfortable silence, the only sound being HIM’s cries. Mojo hated it. His wife’s cries were heart wrenching, and he had to sit there and hear them because of his own actions. He knew his wife would not accept his comfort or touch right now and it killed him inside. He wished HIM would just start screaming at him again, or do anything else but sob.

“Darling-“ Mojo couldn’t finish.

“Just go.” HIM said, defeated.

Mojo took his leave, a heavy weight on his heart.

As he walked to a separate room for the night, he heard sniffles coming from Boomer’s room. He opened the door as quietly as he could, and saw his son sitting on the floor, head in his hands, shoulders shaking from crying.

At that point, he knew HIM hadn’t lied about how despondent their son was. Boomer looked terrible. Mojo may have been a supervillain and a master criminal, but he truly loved and cared for his family and he hated knowing that his child was miserable because of what he did.

He vowed to rectify this situation, for both his wife and his son. Right now, he felt as he had committed another evil act, but it wasn’t one that brought joy or satisfaction. It had only brought anger and pain.

💙

Mojo was not the only one feeling pain. HIM was still awake, ruminating over everything that happened that day. He said what he had wanted to say but he wasn’t left with the satisfaction he thought he would get.

Instead HIM felt empty. He hated fighting with his husband. Before they had gotten together, picking fights with Mojo was amusing to him. Now it felt wrong. Had he taken his anger too far?

No, I said what needed to be said. He needed to understand. It was for the best, he tried to console himself.

He climbed into bed, alone. He wished he hadn’t sent his husband away but he tried to ignore this feeling of regret.

The couple slept separately that night, and none of them found solace by the morning.

💙

For the next few days, Mojo tried to talk with Boomer every chance he got, but his son had graduated from sadness to anger. He refused to talk to him and turned away from his father.

On top of that, he was still receiving the silent treatment from his wife. The longer it took to get Boomer’s forgiveness, the longer HIM would stay resentful.

One day, a week after the incident, he finally got Boomer to agree to talk to him. The pair were in Boomer’s room, the tension in the air so thick it could be cut with a knife.

“My son, I owe you an apology. I made a promise to you and I did not follow through with it. I know how important this event was to you and I did not give you the time and attention that you deserve from me. I assure you it will never happen again.” Mojo said, trying to show his son that he really felt remorseful about the whole thing.

“It just sucked not having you there. I really wanted all of you guys to see us win, and that didn’t even happen. We lost. And that night, I heard you and mom fighting and I hate it when you guys fight. It made me remember when we were little and you would fight all the time.” Boomer said.

Mojo couldn’t really disagree with that. Before they got together and became better parents, he and HIM would argue about absolutely everything. He wondered what kind of effects that had on their children. The first thing they had agreed upon was to never fight in front of their kids again. This had been successful, up until a week ago.

Their boys may not have been in the room that night, but Boomer certainly heard everything that was said.

“I apologize for that son. Your mother and I should have known better than to argue with you boys nearby.”

“Dad?”

“Yes Boomer?”

“I love you. And don’t tell Brick and Butch I said that.” The blue Rowdyruff hugged his father.

“I love you too my son. And you should know that Brick and Butch say that same phrase as well. Those two are not as tough as you might think. Sometimes Brick still has your mother brush his hair for him.” Mojo revealed, returning the hug.

Boomer laughed. He suspected his brother was still getting his hair done based on its appearance.

Mojo stood, preparing to leave. “Hey Dad, before you go, make things right with mom. I want you guys to be happy again.” The blond smiled at his dad.

The villainous primate beamed at his child. Boomer had a good head on his shoulders.

“I will.” He closed the door and strode towards the bedroom he shared with his wife. It was time to make things right with HIM.

💙

HIM was sitting at his vanity, deep in thought. This past week, he had been feeling more and more guilty about his role in this whole situation with his husband.

The demon normally didn’t feel remorseful about much but this was eating at him. He knew that he had taken his anger too far and lost his temper. He had said a lot of things he now regretted and he wanted to talk with his husband about it.

But the ultimate evil was known for his stubbornness. The obstinate side of his mind told him to make Mojo come to him. He would not be the one to initiate.

However, HIM was starting to get tired of not having his husband around. The two of them had worked hard to build a strong, loving marriage and a stable, caring household for their children and he didn’t want one dumb fight to ruin all the changes they had made.

He decided that he needed to apologize for his role in the issue and stood up, ready to find his husband. He threw the door open, and nearly jumped out of his skin.

His husband was right there, also taken aback. Apparently Mojo had come to the same point that HIM had and was ready to talk.

“Darling, I need to speak with you.” Mojo stated, making eye contact with HIM.

“Oh, what a surprise! I was about to come find you because I need to talk to you too.” The demon responded.

The couple sat on their bed awkwardly for a minute, each one not quite knowing how to start. Then Mojo started to speak.

“I apologized to our son and he has chosen to forgive me. I figured that now is the time to apologize to you. I also made you a promise that I did not keep and I failed you. I was not the husband that you deserve and I am truly ashamed of myself.” He rested his hand on one of HIM’s claws. “I ask for your forgiveness my love.”

HIM smiled fondly at his husband. “I forgive you. And I need to apologize too. I shouldn’t have yelled at you or called you pathetic. I lost my temper and I’m sorry.” He stumbled over his words a little. The red skinned demon didn’t apologize for much so it was a little challenging for him.

“You are forgiven my jewel. However, we need to be careful with our fighting. Boomer informed me that he heard our exchange the other night.”

“He heard us?” A guilty look flashed in those beautiful green eyes. “That was my fault. I usually place silencing spells on our room so the boys can’t hear what goes on in here but I must’ve forgotten. I hope he wasn’t too upset.”

“He is fine now my beauty. Do not fret.” Mojo kissed HIM’s cheek, but before he could pull away, the demon pressed his lips to his husband’s and wrapped his arms around his neck. He laid down on the bed, gently pulling Mojo down with him.

“I love you.” HIM said once they separated.

“I love you too.” His husband replied. They laid quietly for a while.

“Honey?” HIM said.

“Yes darling?”

“You never apologized for calling me an infernal pest.” He jokingly teased.

“I only spoke the truth my dear. I have quite the pest problem.” Mojo retorted. The couple stared at each other then laughed.

“You should really take care of that then.” HIM said sultrily. He waved a claw, casting a powerful silencing spell on the room.

“What are you doing my jewel?” The other asked curiously.

“Making sure I don’t forget the silencing spell this time. I don’t think the boys need to hear their parents… making up.” He licked his husband’s cheek and pressed kisses on where his tongue had been.

“You devious little minx. How loud do you expect to be?” Mojo grabbed a fistful of the imp’s silky, black hair.

“I expect you to make me scream.” He purred, narrowing his eyes challengingly.

Mojo paused, before slamming his lips onto his wife’s.

💙

The silencing spell was certainly needed that night. The couple lay together, out of breath and disheveled. HIM’s negligee was torn and his makeup was smudged. Mojo had lipstick marks all over his face.

“We should make up like that more often.” HIM naughtily suggested, waving his claw and cleaning them up.

“You certainly enjoyed yourself my vixen.” Mojo said, running his hands over his beautiful wife’s sleek skin.

“You certainly ruined my negligee.” HIM pouted. “This was lace you know, and lace is your favorite on me.”

“My apologies, my ruby. As lovely as it looked on you, it was in my way.”

“I was going to wear it for your birthday, but I can’t anymore.” He gestured to the torn fabric. HIM knew damn well he could magically repair it, but he was hoping to persuade his husband to get him another one. Things were so much more thoughtful when they were gifts.

“Very well. I will get you another one tomorrow.”

“Thank you honey.” HIM kissed Mojo’s chest, right where his heart was and rested his head there.

The pair traded “I love yous” and drifted off to sleep, the stress of the last week finally alleviated.

After that day, Mojo never missed one of his sons’ events again.

Hey y’all, thanks for reading! If you liked this fic, give a kudos or leave a nice comment. I’m actually planning on starting a series with some HIM/Mojo oneshots and drabbles. I also think I’m going to put this fic and HIM’s Secret Admirer into their own series too. Once again, thanks for your support and have an awesome day!
