Yellow_Sky: Really hate to break up this long-dead conversation but,

Yellow_Sky: The other day, I was wondering how well my gadgets would work in other universes.

Yellow_Sky: But then I was informed by Modern that my universe is lacking a certain type of energy that the rest of you have.

Yellow_Sky: Which could potentially short-circuit all of my gadgets and ruin the experiment.

mint_consumer: I'm still shocked that your world doesn't have any Chaos Energy.

master_hacker: What about the Master Emerald?

Yellow_Sky: The what?

master_hacker: Ask your Knuckles, he should know of it.

Yellow_Sky: Okay brb.

Fluffyboy: The power of the Master Emerald is so fascinating!

Fluffyboy: We had it for 3 months now and I still can't figure out how it works!

mint_consumer: It's Sonic.

Yellow_Sky: At some point, it's just for everyone's benefit to do so.

Nine: What in the world did I come back to?

Fluffyboy: Nine! You're back!

Nine: Apologies for my sudden departure. There were some difficulties that needed to be solved.

Nine: Unfortunately, I lost track of time due to that.

Nine: May I ask, what is going on here?

Yellow_Sky: Duo asked us whether he should place a phone tracker on Sonic or not.

mint_consumer: I would love to know the context to this question.

Stress_test_passer: That's something that everyone wants to know I believe.

Fluffyboy: Alright!

Fluffyboy: Do you remember that I mentioned that my Sonic and Knuckles can travel through worlds using special rings from my Zone?

Nine: How could we not?

Fluffyboy: Well, Knuckles had to go back the other day to check up on some things.

Fluffyboy: So Sonic and I decided to tag along too

Fluffyboy: However, the second we stepped foot in the dimension, Sonic took off and just vanished!

Fluffyboy: We had to spend almost the whole day looking for him.

Fluffyboy: I've already made the Miles Electric as a tracker but sadly it isn't as accurate as I'd hoped it to be. 

Fluffyboy: So I was wondering if I should make a somewhat more accurate one so at least we can easily pinpoint his location when this happens again.

Nine: Yes.

Nine: Just, yes.

mint_consumer: I can send you the code for the one I installed onto my Sonic's phone if you want?

Fluffyboy: Sure! Thanks a lot!

Zails: I shall do the introductions since the Tails I brought with me is busy.

Zails: I am Zails, a version of Tails from No Zone. Originally, my job is to watch over all of my variants across the multiverse. However, I have chosen not to be a complete officer and mostly just deal with paperwork.

Zails: I can still watch over you, just one Tails at a time. 

mint_consumer: He also walks on walls.

Zails: I walk perfectly fine, it's just my dimension is 90 degrees away from all of yours.

Zails: Which makes me walk 90 degrees away from you.

Zails: The Tails I brought with me is from the Fleetway Zone. He's quite busy a majority of the time so he won't be online much.

Zails: I believe his nickname is Orange?

Floor_not_gold: im surprised that zails decided to join me here

Zails: Zonic forced me to spend at least 20 minutes socialising with somebody,

Yellow_Sky: So the other day,

Yellow_Sky: I asked Sonic to pass me a ruler while I was busy drawing out a blueprint for a gadget.

Yellow_Sky: this ruler was plastic, btw.

Yellow_Sky: And Sonic, my ever-so-helpful brother, agreed to help

Yellow_Sky: I looked away for a SECOND and the next thing I know, I hear a loud snap and I see Sonic just, freeze in his tracks.

Yellow_Sky: I literally have no clue how he managed to snap my ruler into three separate pieces.

Yellow_Sky: I had to chase him around the village for just for that

mint_consumer: That reminds me of that time I asked mine to pass me a welder and he passed me everything else instead.

mint_consumer: Turns out it was all a ploy to get me to sleep.

Zails: Duo, please stop leaving your gadgets around the house without supervision.

Zails: I'm sure your parents wouldn't want another hole in their roof.

Fluffyboy: How did you know about the accident?

Fluffyboy: Did you see it on your monitor?

Zails: No I didn't, Zonic told me.

Zails: More specifically, he sent me a video of your Zone's Sonic and Knuckles shooting each other with the guns.

Zails: And the resulting aftermath.

Zails: How did the roof get damaged?

Fluffyboy: They were playing in Sonic's room!

mint_consumer: Your Sonic has a room?

Fluffyboy: Yes???

master_hacker: Our sonics' homeless lol

mint_consumer: No they aren't, they just don't use the room often.

mint_consumer: …I think.

Nine: I detest graph drawing.

Nine: I get that it's necessary sometimes but argh.

Yellow_Sky: Understandable.

Yellow_Sky: The only smart person here is, and I can't believe I'm saying this, Eggman

Yellow_Sky: Sometimes, I'll turn around to ask a simple math question and have to remind myself that no one in my friend group had ever even touch math in their entire lives.

mint_consumer: Yikes.

master_hacker: Going off topic for a moment but,

master_hacker: Hey Zails? Do you know if there are any other Tails out there that we haven't found yet?

master_hacker: Zails?

Floor_not_gold: did his socialising time run out or smth?

Zails: No, it hasn't.

Zails: You do realise I have a job right? Paperwork to fill and so on.

Zails: And to answer your previous question Classic, of course, there are.

Zails: The multiverse is large and as far as we currently know, endless. 

Zails: There will always be a Tails out there that hasn't or won't find this chat room.

Fluffyboy: Mom and Dad brought us out to the forest for a hike.

Fluffyboy: It was fun, don't get me wrong. Hiking around with them is fun!

Fluffyboy: I think I just, accidentally stepped into the nest? 

Fluffyboy: The next thing I know I was being chased.

Fluffyboy: I tried flying away but then it flew after me!

Fluffyboy: Chickens can fly!?

Zails: Yes. Are you okay now, Duo?

Fluffyboy: Yep! Mom helped with the bruising!

Zails: That's good to hear.

Fluffyboy: Oh! And I also saw fishies and turtles too :D

Yellow_Sky: Sorry for changing topics but,

Yellow_Sky: Is it better for me to watch the movie at a cinema or should I just pirate it. 

Zails: And suddenly, I am blind.

Zails: Hello to the two of you. Glad to see you could make it.

Modern: Glad to see you too Zails! You too Orange!

Orange: Good day mates!

Zails: Now then, this will be the last time we will be meeting up like this for a report, as the mandatory two months has passed since the "Fleetway Incident", as it is now labelled as, has occurred. 

Modern: Time sure flies past quickly.

Zails: You should know the routine by now. You two will report anything that may seem out of place on your end, or something that isn't supposed to be there. 

Orange: Of course copper! If we didn't know this by now, I wouldn't know what to say!

Zails: Do note that this report will be crossed-referenced with the one from the Sonics' side for the hypothetical case that if something is amiss, we can quickly figure it out.

Modern: Got it!

Zails: Now, with the usual formalities out of the way, Modern? Would you like to start this time around?

Modern: Okay! I did a quick fly by around Green Hill and a couple other places that Super flew through before, and everything has been good so far! No holes, no rips. Everything is pretty stable here!

Zails: Okay, that's good. Three weeks of stability is a good sign that your world is steadily recovering from the Incident. How about you, Orange?

Orange: The world's as stable as it can get. Super punched another hole a little ago so I had to stand guard and watch. Luckily nothing came out and no one else was there or else it could've gone badly.

Zails: (sighs) Sadly, I believe you would still have to deal with it for a bit longer. Getting an idea into Super's head is always a tough mission and- (looks away from the screen) What?

Modern: What's wrong Zails?

Zails: Zonic's calling me, do excuse me for a moment. (walks away)

Modern: Okay! …How have you been Orange?

Orange: Decent, Sonic is getting better at not insulting everyone he talks to.

Modern: Awesome!

Orange: How about you Modern? Finally cutting down on your mint consumption?

Modern: Um...

Orange: I'm, going to take that as a no. I swear to Chaos, one day someone is going to stage an intervention for that.

Modern: But I ate 3 tins today!

Orange: Modern please, I've already said-

Zails: Apologies friends, Zonic had to double-check with me about an inconsistency. Anyways, is there anything else you want to report? 

Orange: Other than Modern's honestly concerning mint consumption?

Zails: I can't believe they didn't expect us to find out when Scourge is in there.

Zails: Unless Scourge is some sort of devil, there's no way he can appear at the office as often as he does without some inside help.

“You have got to be kidding me,” Zails deadpanned, causing Orange to break into explosive laughter and snickering coming from everyone else.

To be perfectly honest, Modern isn't all too sure how he managed to get into this exact situation. Zails was somehow tied to a white plastic lawn chair that was stuck on the wall, Orange was currently dying in the background, Archie, Duo and – for some reason – Nine were sitting around a fancy table placed at the front of the room and the remaining few Tails were scattered around the place, watching the “show” with varying levels of amusement.

Maybe this is a sign from the universe, he ponders, probably a bad one.

“Order! Order! Order in the room!” Archie slams the gavel – or the toy hammer in this case – silencing the room (mostly). Clearing his throat, he began the “trial”.

“Welcome all Tails and Nine,” the metal-tailed fox beside him waved, “to the Gathering of the Council!” Cheers sounded through the room. “The main item for today's trial is the intervention of Zails!” They gestured to the tied-up fox in front of him.

“This is outrageous! What are you even talking about?” Zails does a half-hearted wiggle in protest before giving up. Somehow he's one of the few who is actually taking this “hearing” seriously, with the rest ranging from softly giggling into their hands to just full-on cackling like Orange (someone should check on him before they faint-).

The other is Archie, who continued speaking despite the multiple distractions in the room.

“Before the actual meeting begins, I shall allow 5 minutes to field any questions from the jury. We shall start with–Gadget!”

“Why is Nine up there with you?”

“Because of reasons!” 

“That's a HORRIBLE explanation-!”

“Next! Modern?”

“Classic is asking how long would this take?”

“If we do this civilly, around an hour. 5 minutes if he resists and we all pile on him. Metallic?”

“Zonic is an adult.”

“can't help but point out that they're deflecting the question-”

“What’s that Orange?”

“This is going horribly!”

“ORANGE-!”

The laboratory door slid open with a loud thud.

“What in the world is going on down here!?”

All movement froze as the foxes stared at the silhouettes of Maddie and Sonic at the door.

It was silent. Then it wasn't.

“RUN!”

What happened next can only be described as a scene straight out of that French rat movie that the Wachowskis had watched the previous night. Foxes were running all over the place with papers flying everywhere. In the mess, you could just barely make out the foxes grouping up and vanishing through rings and portals alike. 

Just as sudden as it had started, it was over, leaving behind a slightly messy lab and a tied-up Zails–, a tied-up Zails?

“Jackasses,” said fox kit mumbled. He continued to wiggle around before slumping in place again and looking towards Sonic and Maddie with something akin to desperation.

“Mind lending a hand?” they plead. Wachowski giggles at the sight, mumbling “Language!” while taking a photo of the scene. When he was done, the hedgehog sped forward and untied the grumpy fox. Once freed, they fixed his messed-up fur before letting out a sigh.

“Great, now all my coffee has been stolen. And my fur’s dirty and messy,” he glared at Movie, pointing an accusing finger at him. “You better not send that photo to Zonic.”

“Why not? Scared that your brother will tease you?”

“Please, Zonic isn't my brother.”

“The broken monitor incident says otherwise.”

“Wha– how did you know about that? And in any case, that was due to Scrounge! How does that collocate with Zonic being my brother?”

“My Tails told me. And, you sure it isn't done out of a fit of jealousy? Or maybe there's another reason-”

“I will throw another monitor at you if you don't shut up-”

Wachowski grinned, pleased with the outcome of the conversation. And as he watched the disgruntled Zails jump through his own wrap ring, that smile turned more gremlin-like as he brought up his phone and opened the group chat.

green_and_mean: Maybe we should take a page out of their books as well? ;)

Zonic: Touch my coffee and I'll scratch you.
