Work Text:

It wasn't unusual for Wally to stare at you.

You've gotten used to how often he'd lay eyes on you. From gazing at you up and down, to fixating on a single point for minutes on end. It didn't make you uncomfortable, at least not after the first few times. What did make you uncomfortable however, was how he insisted on staying silent the entire time. Even if you'd try to break him out of his trance with conversation, he would answer with maybe one or two words and go right back to staring. Eventually you stopped bothering to try. You chose to take his prolonged gawking at you as flattery instead.

Today, Wally dearest invited you to have supper with him. He has been honing his skills in the kitchen and wanted to have you taste his cooking. You never ate anything with him before, making this a true dinner date with Your Darling. You were dressed in your best and cheerfully walked up to his Home, ready to knock on the door. However, before you could even raise your hand, the door creaked open, and Wally was standing tall before you.

"Good evening, dearest" he greeted you, his smile warming, and his eyes instinctually traced you up and down. "You look simply divine~" he flattered you, guiding you inside and closing the door behind the two of you. Always the gentleman, he pulled your seat for you, and you sat down with a bow. The chairs inside his Home always felt more comfortable than normal, but you were never sure how or why.

You didn't need to be patient for long, for as soon as you settled into your seat, he already presented a plate of food on the table before you. It was a simple meal, a perfectly seared steak and a side of creamy mashed potatos garnished with chopped chives. It looked delicious. You made sure to tell Wally that, and he smiled, a mild blush coating his cheeks. "I think you look even more delicious, sweetums~" he complimented you, taking a seat across from you. He quietly whispered a blessing, and picked up his utensils. as did you. That's when you learned of Wallys odd ability.

He can eat with his eyes.

It was strange, alien, and a little unsettling. You pointed it out, and he simply chuckled, that stunted and callous laugh of his suddenly sounded more sinister than weirdly charming. You chose to ignore it, and took a bite of the food. As expected it was absolutely wonderful, in every way it was as delicious as it looked.

For only a moment you felt a shiver climbing up your back.

He said you look delicious. You thought it was simple flattery before but now? Was he really just staring to admire you?

Or was he, in his own way, trying to taste you?

You pushed another bite into your mouth, trying to distract yourself from that thought. You were just being paranoid, right? Wally would never eat another person. Sure, he can eat with his eyes, but that's just a quirk of his, he's not some kind of monster.

It was silly to think Your Darling would try to eat you.

Right?

You were shaken from your musings as Wally set his utensils down, not that he needed them, but he seemingly liked holding them when eating anyway. He sighed contently, placing his palms on his lap. "That was good" he hummed in that relaxed tone of his, "did you like it?" he asked, and you politely replied that you did, not even noticing how hastily you scarfed down your meal, likely from nervousness. "Wonderful~" his voice lulled, "now I'm just craving some dessert". You expected him to get up and grab something sweet from the fridge or perhaps the cabinet, but instead he simply laid his elbows onto the table and rested his chin in his palms.

"May i?" he asked sweetly, but before you could ask what he meant, it already began.

Your eyes were locked with his, and your whole body turned stiff. You couldn't move a muscle. Frozen in your seat unable to move even a finger off your lap or turn your head. You began to panic, wanting to look around to asses yourself and the situation, but your eyes were unmoving, only able to look back at Wally. You wanted to scream, but your breathing was even and calm. So calm, in fact, it was almost robotic, and yet your chest hurt so badly as if you were asphyxiating. You tried to steady yourself, breathe manually and calm down, but your lungs wouldn't listen to you. Something else was moving your lungs for you inside your chest. It hurt fiercely.

Your eyes hurt as well. You were certain you hadn't blinked for what seemed like minutes, but like your chest, you couldn't wrestle back control of you eyelids, and couldn't move them up nor down. They were locked in a half lidded position, and your vision was getting blurry. They were getting drier and drier by the moment, and burned so strongly you wanted to cry. All the while Wallys gaze was enveloping you like a dark shroud, his pitch black pupils expanding slowly as he soaked in your image. They shifted just a little every other moment, focusing on a different feature of your face. By now they've almost filled your entire vision, turning his usually expressive face into a sinister stone cold statue with dark voids in place of eyes. His smile hasn't broken once either, nor did he blink.

You wanted to cry, to scream, to move, do anything other than this. But Wally wouldn't let you go. Not yet. You could feel your skin being touched up by an invisible force, your cheeks and lips felt cold, and something was moving up your neck. Wallys gaze shot to a sweatdrop tracing from your temple to your jaw, sliding down your chin, and you felt it vanish as if licked up into thin air. He smacked his lips in delight.

There was no longer any doubt about it.

Wally was tasting you.

After what felt like a short eternity, he blinked, and your whole body sunk into your seat. You caught your breath again, clutching your aching chest and shutting your eyes in pain as they burned from dryness. Tears rolled down your cheeks and you all but collapsed onto the table. Once you opened your eyes again, you could see Wally licking his lips, savoring the taste of you. "Thank you so much, dearest" he said softly, his tone deadpan as always. "You're the sweetest thing I've had in a while" he smiled, resting his chin on the back of his palm. Before you could even ask what all of this was, or yell at him for your pain, he laughed.

"It's gotten very late, sweetums" he noted, "i really enjoyed our date. Did you enjoy it too?" he asked, once again fixing his gaze onto you. You shivered, all the pain he caused still burning in you. You took the opportunity to excuse yourself instead of confronting him. You should really get back home and get some rest, you said, avoiding his question altogether. He relented, opening the front door and saying his goodbyes for the day. Before he completely let you go, he kissed the back of your palm with a wink.

With your feet speeding under you, you could feel his gaze on your back, watching you run away in silent terror. You knew the memory of this night won't leave you for a long time, and likely even chase you into your dreams.

No matter how sweet and inviting he was, from now on you won't be locking eyes with him ever again. Or at least for a while. That's what you hoped.

But Wally was very persuasive, and you had an inkling fear that this won't be the last time he has a taste of you.
