It all happened so fast.
Magne charged towards Overhaul with her giant magnet. Of course she would be the first to retaliate, given her hotheaded personality. Yet it was that same temper that ended up being her own undoing.
One touch was all it took.
The top half of her body had dissolved in an instant. But Shigaraki wasn't the only one who was alarmed. There was panic among the others as well, the people who he was proud to call his true friends, all showing remorse towards their fallen ally.
"No... Big Sis Magne!" Himiko cried out.
Shigaraki couldn't hear what else was going on. He was just as distraught as the blood-lover. He knew he could fix this before things got worse. But his quirk... If he did that again, it will only become stronger. More souls would get lost to time, which could only mean the swarm will increase in size and strength. He was barely able to control it after so long, so who knows if changing one thing could cause damaging consequence. And yet...
A pained scream from Mr. Compress was enough to make his decision.
"I'm just saving one person."
"I'm here because I don't want to be bound by anything!" Magne cried out as she charged towards Overhaul, unaware of the glove that was slipping from his hand. "We're free to decide for ourselves exactly where we bel-"
THUD!
Without warning, Shigaraki rammed his body towards Magne, shoving her aside before Overhaul could use his quirk on her. Instead, his hand grazed her magnet, which was dissolved in an instant. Yet that was enough to shock the other League members. But for Magne, she was both surprised and relieved. Surprised towards Shigaraki's sudden movement and relieved that she was still alive and breathing.
Yet for Overhaul, he was less than impressed. "What do you want, pipsqueak?" he asked.
Shigaraki looked up from his black hood with a furious glare. He could feel his quirk growing stronger, but he clenched his teeth and endured it. Right now he was more angry towards the man that nearly killed a close friend. He couldn't stand to lose anyone else, not after losing Muscular, Moonfish, and even Mustard during the training camp ambush. And thus, as he gasped for breath, he delivered a warning to this yakuza boss who tried to destroy his whole world.
"Don't you dare...lay a hand...on my friends!"
