Work Text:
I was beyond mad as I crossed my arms and looked at my now ex-lover through angry eyes.
“You expect me to be happy for you now? Hell no. You’re just doing what your parents want you to. Don’t give me that I’m sorry shit. I don’t believe you.” I snarled at my ex.
“Tae, please. You know this isn’t easy for me. I really am sorry. I still love you, and it’s killing me to do this. I don’t even love her. I have zero feelings for her. I only want you. Please.” He said as he tried to reach for my hand, but I quickly brushed him off.
“No! Cut the lies! You’re about to get married, and you have the nerve to come here and tell me that you still love me. You’re nothing more than a tool for your parents. You’re just doing what they want you to. They can’t even stand me because they think I ruined their precious and innocent son, but in reality, you were the one always begging me to fuck you. Why are homophobic parents still a fucking thing in this day and age? Just leave now and don’t show your face around me again.” I stated as I tried not to cause a scene since we were in a public place.
“Tae, don’t be like this. You know this isn’t easy for me. What if we still saw each other after I get married? We can do that, can’t we?” He asked through hopeful eyes.
“Fuck that. Do you even hear what you’re saying right now? No. Not happening. You had your chance, and you ruined it. I’m done with you now. Now that I’m single again, I guess that means I can do whatever I want now. Hell, I can go around kissing whoever I want, and there’s nothing you can do about it. It’s great, isn’t it?” I hissed before I stood up from our table.
I wasn’t thinking very clearly when I heard the bell chiming when the door of the diner opened. I watched a guy around my age step through the door. He was dressed in all black, and he was covered in tattoos. He had multiple earrings and long, parted black hair. The guy was pretty good-looking, but I still wasn’t in the right state of mind.
“I’ll just kiss him. You won’t mind, right?” I smirked at my ex as I walked over towards the stranger that had just come in.
“Hey,” I mumbled as I watched the guy look at me.
“Hey,” He said in a quiet voice as he looked me up and down.
“Sorry about this,” I mumbled, earning a confused look from the stranger.
I leaned forward and crushed my lips against his. I heard him let out a startled grunt before he slowly and shyly moved his lips against mine. Was this his first kiss? It didn’t matter much. I grabbed the back of his head and pulled him closer to me, forcing us to deepen the kiss. I smiled against his lips as I heard people mutter insulting words and scoff at our actions.
I was the first one to pull away as I looked at the guy. His eyes were still closed before they slowly opened. He did have beautiful dark brown eyes that held a sense of playfulness behind them. Cute.
Before the guy could say anything to me, I immediately walked out of the diner, ignoring the shouts of my name from my ex-lover. When I made it a reasonable distance from the diner, I finally allowed myself to cry. Why is being in love with someone so damn hard? Will I ever find that true love that people always talk about?
I’ve been crying every day for a week now since I last spoke to my ex. I hate how much I still love him. I hate it. I hate how my heart once again leaps at the thought of him. Why does it have to hurt so much?
“Tae? Are you there? I’m coming in.” My best friend and roommate, Jimin, spoke before my bedroom door slowly opened.
“Jimin, I miss him.” I sobbed as he rushed over to me and pulled me in for a hug.
“I know you do. I know. He’s an asshole, though, that isn’t even worthy of your tears. Don’t cry over someone like him anymore.” Jimin said quietly as he rubbed soothing circles on my back.
“Why does it have to hurt so fucking much, though? Why? Am I not good enough?” I mumbled into his neck.
“Are you kidding me? You’re the most amazing person that I know besides my Yoongi. You’re also the kindest person that I know. He never deserved someone as wonderful as you. Yoongi is here. Do you want to watch a movie with us? You can pick the movie.” Jimin mentioned as he slightly pulled away to look at me.
“Y-yeah. I’d really like that.” I mumbled as I wiped away my tears with my blanket.
“Perfect. Let’s go then.” Jimin sang as he grabbed my hand and dragged me out of my bed.
I stayed wrapped up in my blanket as we made our way into the living room. Yoongi sat on the couch, mindlessly looking through his phone as he ran his fingers through his mint-colored hair. He looked up at us with a small smile on his face.
“Hey. You’re here. How are you doing?” Yoongi asked me.
“Alright, I guess. I’m not bothering you guys, am I?”
“Of course not. You have better taste in movies than Jimin does.” Yoongi commented, earning a playful slap from Jimin.
“Hey, now!” Jimin whined as he plopped down beside Yoongi.
“It’s true. You made us watch that awful 80s movie last time. The alien one. That movie was so terrible.” Yoongi shivered at the thought of it.
“Tae, you like my movie choices, right?” Jimin asked me as he batted his eyelashes and pouted.
“I agree with Yoongi. Your taste in movies sucks. I still love you, though.” I teased as Yoongi gave me a quick high-five before kissing Jimin on his head.
I sat down on the other side of Jimin before I grabbed the remote and started scanning through the movies. All the movies reminded me of my ex. We always used to watch movies together, and a tear rolled down my cheek as I clicked on a random movie without paying too much attention.
“It’s going to be okay. You’re going to be okay.” Jimin whispered to me as he held my hand.
“Yeah. I hope so.” I whispered back as I rested my head on his shoulder.
The movie was actually pretty good. I looked over to Jimin and Yoongi to find them talking about something.
“Hey. Let’s go to Jin’s diner and get some food. Would that be fine?” Jimin asked me.
Jin’s diner was where I last saw my ex, and I shuddered at the memory. Jin was a close friend, so I’d have to go back there, eventually. I guess I had to suck it up and face whatever came my way.
“Yeah. Let’s go.” I gave a small smile.
The diner wasn’t that full since it was pretty late. Jin saw the three of us walk in, and he quickly greeted us.
“Hey, guys! I’m going to close up soon, but you guys can stay. Just order whatever you want.” Jin informed us as we took the nearest booth and sat down.
We all ordered our usual meals, and I quietly listened to Jimin and Yoongi talk about something. My eyes scanned around the familiar diner until they landed on a particular table. That was the table where my ex and I sat that day. I bit my lip to stop myself from tearing up at the thought.
The door chimed as I came out of my thoughts.
“Hey! You’re late! You can sit with my other friends at that booth over there. I’ll get you some food as well.” Jin spoke to someone.
I heard footsteps approaching us before they stopped right beside me. I looked over, and my heart skipped a beat at the slightly familiar face. It was the guy I saw last week that I kissed. We made eye contact, and I watched him blush before he quickly looked away.
“It’s you!” I blurted out without thinking.
“Y-yeah. It’s nice to see you again, I think.” The guy said shyly.
“I’m so sorry about what happened. I wasn’t in my right mind. Can we just forget about it and start over?” I asked.
“O-oh? Yeah. We can, I guess.” He looked down at his feet.
“I see you’re finally meeting the other guys. You can sit down beside Taehyung, Jungkook.” Jin said happily as he motioned for me to scoot over.
I scooted over to make room for the stranger, now known as Jungkook. Jungkook just nodded before he sat down beside me. We gave each other awkward glances before looking away.
Jimin gave us both questioning looks but didn’t say anything. Yoongi, however, stared both of us down before he hummed quietly to himself.
“Where’s Namjoon and Hoseok?” Jimin asked Jin.
“Late as usual. Hoseok’s class went a little longer today, and Namjoon was meeting with a potential partner.” Jin explained.
“I’m hungry,” I said, trying to clear the awkward tension I was feeling.
“The food should be ready in a minute. Let me go check for you guys.” Jin said before he walked off.
“So your name is Taehyung?” Jungkook asked me in a quiet voice.
“Yeah, and you’re Jungkook, right?” I whispered.
“Y-yeah,” Jungkook mumbled as he quickly looked away from me.
“I really want to say sorry about what happened before. Since you’re part of our friends now, I don’t want us to get started on the wrong foot.” I explained.
I flinched slightly as I heard Jin yell out some unexplainable words in the kitchen.
“S-sure. Are you okay, though? I don’t know what happened, but I think I understand enough. That guy looked pretty upset when he chased after you.” Jungkook whispered as his eyes were filled with concern.
“I’ll be alright. Thanks for your concern.” I said as I looked up to watch Yoongi and Jimin argue over fork placements.
“We’re here!” Hoseok shouted out as he and Namjoon walked over to our booth.
“Yay,” Yoongi said sarcastically as he rolled his eyes.
“So mean,” Hoseok said as he dramatically clutched at his heart.
“I’ll just go check on Jin now.” Namjoon sighed before he walked off.
“So how are you guys doing? It’s been so long since all of us got together, and we even have a new friend.” Hoseok mentioned as he slid into the seat beside Jungkook, forcing him to scoot over.
Jungkook and I were pressed so tightly together that he was almost sitting in my lap.
“S-sorry,” Jungkook mumbled as he blushed a little and bit his lip.
“It’s fine. Hoseok is always like this.” I grunted as I felt Jungkook brush his ass against my thigh.
“Shit,” I muttered under my breath.
At this rate, I’m going to end up jerking off in the bathroom. It’s been a while since I last had sex, and with this cute guy rubbing up against me, it made it clear how long it had been. I could tell Jungkook was nervous as he sat next to me since he couldn’t stop moving his leg. The motion kept traveling right to my groin area, causing me to groan in sexual frustration.
“I need to take a shit!” I yelled out, causing everyone to stop talking and look at me.
Nobody said a word as they let me out of the booth. I quickly darted off to the bathroom before unzipping my pants. I was still semi-hard, but it had been so long since I last had sex or even touched myself.
My thoughts traveled to Jungkook, who was the cause of this current problem. Why did he have to look so cute and innocent? Why did he have to have such a nice pair of lips?
(MINOR SMUT AHEAD!!!!)
Those sinful lips of Jungkook were parted ever so slightly as he looked up at me with those doe-like eyes of his. He shyly licked his lips before asking for permission with his eager eyes. I nodded. He gently flicked his tongue against my throbbing member's side, and I let out a small gasp. His tongue felt so good against me. I could feel his tongue running along every part of my throbbing member as I closed my eyes and felt him slowly take me in his mouth. I could tell he was inexperienced, but the way he closed his mouth around my member made me think otherwise.
I felt his lips run up and down my hardened member as I grunted in pleasure. Jungkook hummed every now and then, encouraging me to shove my member further down his throat. I didn’t hear him make a gagging sound as I continued to pound into his mouth. He just kept on moaning at the feeling of my member filling up his mouth. I turned into a moaning mess as he wrapped his tongue around my member now and then. Fuck. He felt so good.
I cried out before I shot my load down the back of Jungkook’s throat. He didn’t say a word as he swallowed every bit of me, making sure to lick his lips in satisfaction after I pulled out of him. Fuck. That was so hot.
I let out a sigh of relief as I opened my eyes and looked around the bathroom. I can’t believe I just did that, and with someone I barely even knew. Jungkook would probably think I was some freak if he knew I just jerked off at the thought of him. Why do I have to be so messed up?
All eyes were on me as I exited the bathroom. My eyes landed on Jungkook, though, who was as red as a tomato. Shit. Was I too loud? Did everyone hear me? He probably thinks I’m a freak now. Oh shit.
“Have a nice shit?” Yoongi asked sarcastically, earning a few snickers from everyone.
I didn’t say anything back, and I just shrugged. I slid back into the booth, but this time I forced Hoseok to sit next to Jungkook. I couldn’t bear to sit beside him without thinking of what I just did.
Thankfully, nobody said anything about it, and we all ate our food in peace. Some idle chatter went on as we all ate, but nothing too serious. I kept glancing over at Jungkook, who shyly looked away from me each time. I feel like I fucked up really badly.
“I’m so glad we could all get together like this. It’s been too long. I know we all have busy lives, but it’s nice to take some time. Plus, I wanted everyone to meet my son, Jungkook.” Jin said as we all turned to look at Jungkook.
Jungkook awkwardly shifted in his spot as all eyes remained on him.
“I thought I was your son.” Jimin pouted.
“You are along with Taehyung and Jungkook. My precious babies!” Jin cried out as he wiped away fake tears.
“What about Yoongi and me?” Hoseok asked.
“You two are my brothers, and we all know that Namjoon is my husband,” Jin smirked as he kissed Namjoon on the cheek.
“Don’t lump me in with all these crazy people.” Yoongi huffed.
“Who is crazy?” Hoseok questioned.
“Exactly.” Yoongi sighed as he shook his head.
“I’m so full. Thanks for the food, Jin.” Jimin smiled.
“I’m tired. So let’s get going. Thanks, Jin.” Yoongi mentioned as he and Jimin stood up together.
“Guess I should go too, since they’re my ride home,” I explained.
We all said our thanks and goodbyes as me, Yoongi, and Jimin walked outside of the diner to Yoongi’s car. I heard someone behind us and turned to find Jungkook looking our way.
“Would it be alright to ride with you guys? I actually live in the apartment complex next to yours.” Jungkook said quietly.
“Sure! I bet Taehyung would love to spend more time with you.” Jimin smirked before he slid into the passenger seat.
This meant that I would have to sit next to Jungkook on the ride home. Great. As if I didn’t feel bad enough already.
The ride home was pretty awkward as Yoongi and Jimin talked amongst themselves. I couldn’t even bear to look over at Jungkook until I heard him quietly clear his throat.
“I am so sorry about what happened earlier. I didn’t mean to get you so worked up.” Jungkook whispered to me.
“It’s fine. I’m just going through a lot right now, and it’s been pretty hard for me.” I whispered back.
“Really? It sounded like you were enjoying yourself, though.” Jungkook mumbled.
“Let’s forget about this incident, too.” I sighed.
“Fine.” Jungkook huffed before he turned back around and didn’t say another word.
Was he mad at me now? What did I do? I’m the one who should be angry here. He got me so worked up so quickly.
“We’re here,” Yoongi said as he got out of the car and opened the door for Yoongi.
“You should leave now. Wouldn’t want you to do anything else that you might regret.” Jungkook coldly said.
“Seriously? We barely even know each other. I don’t know why you’re so worked up over this.” I sighed.
“Do you always go around kissing strangers or jerking off at the thought of them after?” Jungkook hissed as he looked at me.
“It wasn’t intentional!” I said a little too loudly.
“Well, I guess this isn’t intentional either.” Jungkook declared.
Before I could ask what he meant, I felt him crush our lips together. His hands were all over me and I remained even more confused. I hesitantly kissed him back before coming back to my senses and pulling away from him.
“What was that?” I asked as my heart pounded loudly in my chest.
“Sorry. I don’t know what happened. I’m just confused, I think.” Jungkook admitted.
“I’m sorry, but I’m still not over my ex. That kiss was a one-time thing between us. I’m sorry for taking advantage of you. I didn’t mean to. I just want us to try to get along and be friends.” I explained.
“Yeah. Let’s be friends then.” Jungkook spoke softly as he looked at me with a saddened expression.
“Goodnight, Jungkook.”
“Goodnight, Taehyung.”
We both got out of the car and made our way to our apartments, not bothering to spare each other another glance. What was happening now?
I woke up in a cold sweat the next morning. Nightmares of my ex’s family drifted through my mind as tears flowed down my face. Jimin busted into my room with a look of concern on his sleepy face.
“Tae, what’s wrong? I heard you yell out.” Jimin said as he rushed over to me.
“Sorry. Just nightmares again.” I mumbled.
“It’s alright. I’ll just go make us some breakfast now, since it’s kind of late in the morning. Let’s get ready for the day first, yeah?” Jimin spoke before he walked out of my room.
I let out a small groan as I walked over to my closet. Before I put them on, I pulled out a plain white tee and some grey sweatpants. I ruffled my hair before I headed down the stairs. Jungkook was sitting at the counter talking to Jimin, so I regretted coming downstairs.
“What is he doing here?” I asked as I pointed to Jungkook.
“I invited him over for breakfast. He has classes today.” Jimin shrugged.
“You’re a student?”
“I’m in my final year of university,” Jungkook explained before he turned his back to me and began eating his food.
“Oh.” That is all I said before I took my usual seat and began to eat my food.
“So, what do you do then?” Jungkook wondered as he looked at me.
“Model,” I responded as I began eating my food.
Jimin looked between Jungkook and me before shaking his head.
“Well, I have to get to work in a few minutes. Will you two be alright being alone?” Jimin asked as he looked at me.
“Yes. Why are you even asking me that?” I huffed.
“No reason. You two behave now. I’ll see you tonight, Tae.” Jimin winked at me before he headed out of our apartment.
There was an awkward silence as I realized I was alone for the first time with Jungkook. Should I say something? This is so fucking awkward.
“So umm…” Jungkook spoke.
“Yeah?”
“I have to leave soon before I’m late for class,” Jungkook mumbled.
“Yeah? Do you need a ride?”
“No. I have my own car.” Jungkook shook his head.
“Oh. That’s good.” I hummed.
Why the fuck is it so awkward between us right now? Why am I staring at his lips again?
“Fuck it,” I said before I threw myself on Jungkook.
Jungkook grabbed hold of me before I crashed our lips together in a heated moment. My hands wasted no time grabbing every part of Jungkook that they could, and I could tell he was doing the same.
I felt myself being lifted up, and I wrapped my legs around Jungkook’s waist on instinct. He carried us over to the couch without breaking our kiss, and before I knew it, we went tumbling over the back of the sofa.
My legs were up in the air with Jungkook in between them and holding them open, trying to stop me from falling completely over the couch.
“Hey! Sorry, I forgot my wallet…” Jimin said as he walked through the door and saw us.
“Woah! Sorry for interrupting. Carry on.” Jimin smirked as he quickly retrieved his wallet and headed back out the door again.
“You should get to class now. Don’t want to be late.” I breathed out as I gripped the couch cushions to keep myself from falling off.
“Y-yeah. I should.” Jungkook mumbled before he dragged me up from the couch, causing me to yelp in excitement at his swift movement.
I sat on the back of my couch with Jungkook still in between my legs, and this situation definitely had me feeling some type of way.
“You sure I should leave?” Jungkook whispered in my ear, which sent shivers down my spine.
“No. I mean, yes. Yes, you should go.” I whispered back, trying to calm down my hyperactive heart.
“Fine. See you later then, Tae.” Jungkook said in a seductive voice as he rubbed my thighs before backing away.
What happened to that shy guy I first met? Can I have him back, please? Then again, this new side of Jungkook was pretty hot, too. Wait. Did I just say that Jungkook was hot? No. I can’t catch feelings right now. It’s too soon. Too soon.
Jungkook didn’t say another word as he walked out of my apartment and left me a hot and confusing mess. I can’t catch feelings for someone else so soon. I don’t want people to think I have a rebound guy. I don’t want to hurt Jungkook.
Jimin made it home after work and started looking around our apartment for something.
“What are you doing?” I asked him before he came walking up to me.
“Just wondering if Jungkook is here,” Jimin said slyly.
“He’s not.” I rolled my eyes at him.
“So, what’s up with you two? I walked in on a heated moment this morning. Care to share with the rest of the class?” Jimin smirked.
“We actually met before. That night I saw my ex, Jungkook happened to walk in, and I was so upset that I walked up and kissed him before leaving. My ex hurt me and I wanted to get back at him. I didn’t think I’d ever see Jungkook again.” I explained.
“Damn. Well, you two certainly seemed to be very close this morning. Maybe it’s time for you to move on from your ex. He’s clearly moved on since he’s getting married. I can’t believe he had the nerve to invite you to his wedding.” Jimin said in an irritated voice.
“I was thinking of going, actually,” I said as I awkwardly rubbed the back of my neck.
“Seriously?! Why?” Jimin stared at me with wide eyes.
“I need that closure. I need to see it with my own eyes to move on with my life.”
“I guess that makes sense. Are you sure you can handle going, though? Do you want someone to go with you? You should take Jungkook. That would really tick off your ex.” Jimin laughed.
“Yeah. I want to be petty one last time before I move on. I’ll ask Jungkook if he wants to go with me.” I nodded.
“Good. You should totally make a scene while you’re there too. Weddings are boring without some type of drama going on.” Jimin mentioned.
“Yeah. The wedding is in two days, so let’s see what kind of chaos I can stir up.” I smirked.
I wonder if Jungkook would actually agree to go with me or even help me. We still don’t really know each other that well, and I wouldn’t blame him if he said no to me.
Jungkook and I were pulling into the parking lot of a church as people directed traffic. The irony of it all was amusing. Of course, my ex would get married in a fucking church. His homophobic parents wouldn’t have it any other way.
“You sure you want to be here? We don’t have to do this, you know.” Jungkook said as he drove towards our designated parking spot.
“No. I have to do this. I need to do this. If I don’t get another chance to say this tonight, thanks for coming here with me tonight. I don’t know if I could’ve handled being here on my own.” I gave him a small smile.
“Of course. I’m always down for free food and drama.” Jungkook winked at me.
I just rolled my eyes at him before we hopped out of his car. Jungkook walked around to me and casually held his arm open for me to take. I slipped my arm around him without any hesitation.
There were other people in the parking lot, dressed up as they walked towards the church's entrance. A frown formed on my face as I realized who was standing at the door. I felt my whole body tense up.
“You good?” Jungkook whispered to me.
“Yeah. His parents are at the entrance greeting people.” I whispered back as we stepped in line, waiting to greet my ex’s parents.
I was so nervous as we inched closer and closer to his parents. When we stood right in front of them, they frowned at me before giving the fakest smiles they could muster.
“Taehyung, so glad you could make it.” His mom said.
“Yeah. I wouldn’t miss it for anything.” I quietly replied.
“Is this a friend of yours?” His dad asked me.
“No. This is Jungkook, and he’s my fuck buddy. I just love getting dick as much as possible, you know.” I said sarcastically.
I watched a look of horror and disgust wash over his parents' faces as I smirked at them before walking into the church.
“That went well,” I mumbled.
“The looks on their faces were priceless.” Jungkook chuckled.
“Good thing, the night’s just getting started then,” I mentioned.
We walked around the church together, and I looked around, hoping to catch a glimpse of my ex. He was probably off somewhere talking to some people.
“We should go find some seats. These things fill up quickly.” Jungkook mentioned as we made our way to the main room.
There were people already seated in the pews as we took our seats closer to the front. They decorated the room with the most traditional wedding decorations and really lacked creativity. How tasteless and boring.
People slowly began trickling in, and my heart stopped as I saw my ex walk up to the front of the room. He had a smile on his face, but it quickly faded when he locked eyes with me.
“T-Taehyung? You actually came?” He asked as he walked up to my seat.
“Why? Didn’t think I would come?”
“I’m a little surprised, actually, considering how you left the last time we saw each other.” He said quietly.
“Oh, I wouldn’t miss this. I already saw your parents, and I think they hate me even more now.” I laughed.
“Taehyung, please. This is my wedding. Please don’t stir up trouble.” He sighed as he shook his head at me.
“I won’t do anything for now. I’ll make sure I’m on my best behavior for the wedding.”
“Thank you. Let’s talk at the party after, yeah?”
“Sure,” I said as I looked away from him.
He didn’t say anything else as he walked back up to the front of the room. I hated how he still made my heart race, even if it was just for a brief moment.
“Do you want to talk to him later?” Jungkook asked me.
“I don’t know. Maybe? I just want closure.”
We didn’t get a chance to say anything else before the music started playing. Jungkook and I turned around to find a woman in a wedding dress standing in the doorway. The woman actually was beautiful, and she had this innocent look about her as she smiled at my ex and blushed slightly.
My ex smiled back at her as tears formed in his eyes. I wasn’t sure if he was acting or not, but those tears he had were very convincing. She slowly walked down the aisle and smiled at all the guests until she came to my row. She stopped briefly and made eye contact with me before mouthing, an I’m sorry to me and making her way back down the aisle.
I wanted to hate her for stealing my ex away from me, but I just couldn’t hate her for some reason. I watched her and my ex grab each other's hands and look into each other's eyes. She looked at him with such love and devotion, and it made my eyes well up with tears. I fucking hated this.
“Tae, are you ok? We can leave if you want to.” Jungkook whispered to me.
“No. I’m fine. Thanks.” I said before Jungkook intertwined our fingers together.
The ceremony went off without any problems, and I watched the newlyweds share a loving kiss with each other. The guests all clapped and cheered for the couple as they smiled at everyone. I could feel Jungkook squeeze my hand as we watched the couple walk down the aisle together. Seeing them smile at each other and look so happy together made my heart ache.
All the guests made their way to the building where the party was being held. Jungkook and I walked there in silence with me, clinging to him like my life depended on it. I was thankful he decided to come with me tonight.
We walked into the building, and loud music was already playing. People were talking and laughing while holding glasses of alcohol. Was this a party or a club? Some people were already drunk as we watched a group of girls run up and down the main hallway.
“Looks like you don’t need to do anything. Guess everyone else already started the drama for you.” Jungkook joked.
“Yeah. Looks like it.” I nodded.
We walked into the room where the music was coming from and sat down at one of the tables. I scanned the room, and my eyes landed on my ex’s wife. She looked at me with a small smile on her face before walking towards us.
“Hey, Taehyung. I’m glad you’re here.” She said in a sweet voice.
“Really? It seems like you’re the only one then.” I frowned.
“Can you come dance with me? I’d like to talk to you.” She spoke as she looked at me with those innocent eyes of hers.
“Shouldn’t the first dance be with your husband?” I rolled my eyes.
“He said he didn’t want to. So will you dance with me instead?”
“Sure. I can’t say no to the bride at her own wedding, after all.” I shrugged before standing up.
She grabbed my hand and led us onto the dance floor. The music quickly turned into a slow song as she wrapped her arms around me, and I lightly grabbed her waist.
“There’s so much I want to say to you. I’m sorry for taking him away from you. Those really weren’t my intentions. I never even thought I’d actually marry him one day. I thought it was just a joke between our families. I never took it seriously. I always respected your relationship with him and never interfered with it. There were many times when I kept his parents from coming after you. I always wanted to be friends with you. I still think of you as a good friend. You were always there for me. I loved you as a friend and as a brother. The three of us were the best of friends. I never expected his parents to lash out at you as they did. What they did was unforgivable. I want to ask for your forgiveness now, because I’m truly sorry for ruining the friendship we had. I am so very sorry, Taehyung.”
I watched as tears rolled down her cheeks, and I couldn’t stop the tears from rolling down mine as well. I wanted to hate her so badly, but she was right. She never did anything wrong to deserve hate from me. We both were just tools to be used from the start. She was always there for me, just like I was for her. We were best friends, and part of me wanted us to remain that way.
“It’s ok. I forgive you. It’s not your fault. I came today to get closure, so I could move on with my life. I want to find someone to spend the rest of my life with. I want to be truly happy with someone without having to hide our relationship. I want to be with someone that isn’t afraid to show me off. I want to finally move on with my life. I’m really happy for you. I hope he treats you right. I’d like for us to be friends again. I really would.”
I kissed her forehead as she let out a soft giggle. Her eyes looked so much happier than before.
“So tell me about the guy you brought. He’s really good-looking and definitely not the type you usually go for. I mean, he has tattoos, and his ears are pierced. Are you going through the bad boy phase?” She teased me.
“We haven’t known each other for very long. His name is Jungkook, and he’s younger than me. We’ve already kissed twice.” I bit my lip.
“No way! So are you two a thing now? I love this. Please date him. Please. This will be the best wedding gift if you do.” She said happily as we pulled away from each other.
“I’ll think about it. I should get back to him now.”
“Ok. Good luck. You have my full support with this.” She said as she gave me a thumbs up.
I really missed having her around as a friend. I wish we would’ve made up sooner. Jungkook was busy talking to a small group of girls as I walked over.
“Enjoying yourself?” I asked Jungkook as he looked at me and blushed.
“Sorry.” He mumbled.
“Sorry, ladies, but he’s with me. The single guys are in the other room.” I laughed as I watched them get up from the table and leave.
“You look better. Did something good happen?” He asked as he took a sip from his cup.
“Yeah. We made up and agreed to be friends again.” I explained.
“That’s good. You still have one more person to talk to, though.”
“Yeah. I’m dreading it already.” I sighed.
I hadn’t even seen any sign of my ex since the wedding, so I took it upon myself to search for him.
It didn’t take me too long to find him, as he was in a secluded area flirting with some random guy. Some things don’t change.
“Look what I found,” I commented as the two jumped at the sound of my voice.
My ex looked at me with a shocked look on his face before he shooed off the other guy.
“Did you come looking for me?” He asked.
“I did. You said you wanted to talk to me, so talk.”
“I meant what I said before. Even though I am married, I still want to be with you. I don’t have feelings for her. You know, I always thought of her as my little sister. You’re the only one I’ve ever had feelings for.” He said as he caressed my cheek.
“Stop. You’re a married man now and shouldn’t say things like that. She’s a good girl, and you definitely don’t deserve her. I just came here for closure. I’m ready to move on with my life, and I’m ready to move on from you. We had our time, and it was great while it lasted, but I’m done being someone’s secret. I don’t want to be in a relationship where we have to lie and sneak around. That’s not a relationship. That’s not what I want. I want someone who isn’t afraid to be fully with me and isn’t afraid to show me off. I don’t want to be with someone that’s a coward like you. You’re nothing but a coward, and I’m sorry it took me so long to realize that. I thought what we had was real love, but it wasn’t. You never loved me; you only loved yourself. I’m done with you. I want nothing from you anymore. I made up with your wife, and I want to stay friends with her because she’s an angel and never did anything wrong. Unless I have to, I do not want to see you anymore. You’re nothing but a selfish coward, and I don’t love you anymore.”
I felt my heart beating rapidly from the adrenaline running through my veins. It felt so good to be able to say everything I was feeling. I didn’t give him a chance to say anything else as I walked away from him with a smile on my face.
I made my way back to where Jungkook was, and he gave me a wide smile.
“Looks like you did what you had to. How do you feel?”
“I feel amazing. I feel like I could take on the world right now.” I admitted with a satisfied smile.
“Good. You want to get out of here, then?” Jungkook asked.
“Yeah. Can we go to your place?” I mumbled.
“Sure.”
Jungkook grabbed my hand as I looked over at the dancefloor. My ex’s wife watched us with a sly smile on her face, and I merely rolled my eyes at her. She just laughed before she waved to us.
Jungkook and I walked into his apartment as he flipped on the lights. His place looked pretty expensive and modern.
“Fucking rich people,” I chuckled.
“True, but this rich guy doesn’t have homophobic parents.” Jungkook shrugged as he took off his suit jacket.
“Oh.”
I didn’t have time to say anything else before Jungkook leaned in and pressed our lips together. This seems familiar, but now I didn’t have any excuses not to kiss him. I smirked into the kiss before I let him lead us to his bedroom.
I’ve never been a bottom bitch in my entire life. I’m used to being a top, and that’s how it’s always been until last night.
“Morning. How are you feeling?” Jungkook asked in a sleepy voice as he looked at me.
“Well, my ass feels like it got pounded into oblivion last night. Oh wait, it did.” I groaned as I felt a stinging sensation in my lower half.
“Sorry. I’m not used to being with someone that isn’t a bottom.” Jungkook admitted.
“I’m going to ignore that statement. Help me to the bathroom.” I commanded.
“Ask me, and I might do it,” Jungkook smirked.
“I’m not asking you. You should do it because I’m in pain.” I whined.
“Then, I’m not helping you.” Jungkook childishly stuck his tongue out at me.
“Fine. Can you help me to the bathroom, please?” I pouted.
“I would love to help you, baby.” Jungkook teased.
Jungkook carefully scooped me up, and into his arms before he carried me into the bathroom. I placed my feet on the floor before he started the bathwater. The pain shot through my body before Jungkook helped me get into the tub.
“I’m going to leave before I do things I shouldn’t. I’ll bring you some clothes.” Jungkook said softly before he walked out of the room.
I let myself relax and lean against the back of the tub. My eyes closed as I relished the feeling of comfort. I heard Jungkook quietly enter and let out a soft chuckle before he left again. This felt so good, and it was just what I needed.
“Sorry to interrupt your nap, but I have to get ready for my classes soon,” Jungkook explained as I opened my eyes and looked at him.
“Oh! Sorry, I didn’t even realize. I can leave now if you want me to.” I muttered as I slowly stood up in the tub.
“No. You don’t have to. You can stay here all day if you want to. Do whatever you want. I’ll be back after my classes end.” Jungkook informed me.
“You don’t mind me staying here all day? What if I eat all your food?” I joked.
“If you can eat all the food in my house, then I will pay you.” Jungkook laughed.
“Really? How much?” I narrowed my eyes at him as I stepped out of the tub.
“I never said I’d pay you with money,” Jungkook smirked at me before he licked his lips.
“Oh shit. My body isn’t ready for that just yet.” I replied before I began to dry off.
“Let me know when you want me again, babe,” Jungkook whispered seductively in my ear, which sent shivers down my spine.
He left the room before saying anything else, leaving me to throw on the clothes he picked out. When I walked out of the bathroom, Jungkook stood outside the door with pills and a glass of water in his hand.
“Take these and just relax. I’ll see you when I get home.” Jungkook said before he pecked my lips and handed me the items.
I quickly gulped down the pills and water, but Jungkook had already left. What was I supposed to do for the day while waiting for Jungkook?
I woke up to the sound of the front door opening and closing. As I rubbed my eyes, I heard footsteps. I blinked a few times as I saw a smiling Jungkook looking at me.
“Sorry, did I wake you? I didn’t think you’d actually stay here all day.” Jungkook admitted as he sat down what looked like food on his kitchen counter.
“I honestly don’t even remember when I fell asleep. I thought about going back home but decided not to. I let Jimin know, and he was more than ok with it. I think Yoongi is over there, and I definitely don’t want to walk in on that image.” The thought made me shiver.
I once walked in on Jimin and Yoongi fucking, and that was something I never wanted to see again. I will never look at a dog's leash the same way again. Gross.
“I see. Well, I brought food home since I hoped you’d stay.” Jungkook shyly bit his lower lip.
“You are so cute.” I cooed, earning a slight blush from Jungkook.
“Yeah, yeah. Do you want to stay the night again?”
“Is it alright if I do? I don’t want to overstay my welcome.” I explained.
“It’s really fine. I mean, you can stay here forever if you’d like, and I’d totally be fine with that.” Jungkook shrugged.
“Do you even know what you’re saying right now? I like you, but it’s a little too soon for that.” I replied.
“Is it, though? If we both like each other and both want the same things, then why not do it already instead of putting it off? Why have doubts about something that’s going to have the same outcome no matter what? Does it matter if you move in with me today or months from now? It’s going to happen either way, so why wait for it?”
“That’s actually a good point. How did you get to be so wise?” I teased.
“I’ve always been wise, and I’m always full of surprises.” Jungkook winked.
“That you are, but are you really alright with me moving in with you so soon? This is a big change for both of our lives. We still barely know each other, and I don’t want us to have any regrets later.”
“I’m absolutely sure that this is what I want. I’ll never have any regrets when it comes to you. I know what I want and what I want is you. When you kissed me in the diner, I knew you were the only person I would ever need. Nothing is too early or too soon when you truly love the person.”
“You love me?” I asked in a slightly surprised voice.
“Hell yeah, I do. I love you, Kim Taehyung, and I’d love it if you could be my boyfriend.” Jungkook said in a sincere tone.
“I love you too, Jeon Jungkook, and I’d love to be your boyfriend,” I responded.
Jungkook smiled at me before he pulled me in for a passionate kiss. Kissing him felt so right. This was nothing like how it was with my ex. I could feel the love and sincerity with each gentle movement our lips made against one another.
Jungkook was and always will be my happiness. Everything just felt so right, even in such a short amount of time. Love really has no time limit, and that’s the best part of it.
Two Years Later
“Hurry up, Tae, or we’ll be late!” Jungkook called out to me as I searched around for my phone.
“I can’t find my fucking phone!” I shouted back as I frantically looked around our living room for it.
“Really, Tae? Really? You can’t find it at all?” Jungkook walked up to me with an amused look on his face.
“I’m serious! Why are you looking at me like that? This is serious. What if we miss the delivery?! I want to be the first one to see her!” I said in a panic.
“Babe, calm down. Breathe. Now, look at your hands.” Jungkook softly spoke as I gave him a confused look.
I looked down at my hands to find myself tightly gripping my phone. I had my phone the whole time, and now I just look like a fucking idiot in front of my boyfriend. Real smooth. We’ve been together for two years now, and I still manage to embarrass myself in front of him.
“Oh. Let’s just get to the hospital, then.” I mumbled as I looked away from Jungkook and cleared my throat.
“You are so cute.” Jungkook kissed my cheek before we walked out of our apartment.
All of our friends were already at the hospital when we arrived. My ex stood there with a worried look on his face before he started pacing back and forth.
“Finally, you guys made it.” Jimin let out a sigh of relief.
“Sorry, we’re late. Did we miss anything? How is she?” I asked everyone.
“Still pushing. They said everything was going well so far.” Yoongi explained.
“We just need to stay calm.” Jin chimed in.
“Tell that to the panicking husband over there.” Namjoon chuckled.
“Did he get kicked out of the room again?” I laughed.
“Yeah. He kept asking too many questions and his wife kicked him out.” Hoseok chuckled.
“Of course he did.” Jungkook rolled his eyes before laughing.
I walked over to my ex, and he seemed to relax a little at the sight of me.
“Hey. How are you doing?” I asked as I patted his shoulder.
“I’m fine, I guess. I’m just anxious about both of them. What if something happens while I’m not in there?” He asked in a worried voice.
“Don’t worry. Everything will be fine. That’s what the doctors are for. Both of them are in the best place they can be for these kinds of things.” I explained as I soothingly rubbed his back.
“Yeah. Yeah, I guess you’re right.” He sighed as he seemed to relax a bit more.
I watched him sit down in one of the empty chairs before I went to sit down beside Jungkook. So much had happened in the past two years that it didn’t seem real.
Jin and Namjoon renewed their vows and went on a romantic honeymoon, leaving me to take care of the diner while they were away. My modeling career took off since I decided to receive more offers. I moved in with Jungkook just like we talked about, and we got engaged four months later. We still haven’t had a chance to plan our wedding yet. After Jungkook graduated from university, he became a music producer and started working with Namjoon. Hoseok got into a relationship, but they broke up due to personal reasons. Jimin and Yoongi eventually moved in together, and our old apartment was quickly put up for rent. My ex’s wife and I rekindled our friendship, and we were back to where we were before all the drama started. My ex and I eventually made up and became friends again, but we definitely weren’t as close as we used to be. I could tell that he was in love with his wife, and eventually, she got pregnant, which is where we are now.
“What are you thinking so hard about?” Jungkook whispered as he gently grabbed my hand.
“Just about everything that’s happened over the past two years. I still can’t believe how we all got to this point.” I smiled.
“Yeah. I don’t think any of this would’ve happened if you hadn’t kissed me in the diner that day.” Jungkook joked.
“Well, what can I say? I guess I just have a thing for kissing strangers.” I teased.
“Really now? Do you go around kissing strangers often?” Jungkook raised a brow at me.
“Just one,” I smirked before I kissed him on his pouting lips.
“Excuse me, the birth went really well for mom and baby. Congratulations on your new baby girl. The mother has asked for someone named Taehyung to be the first to enter the room.”
A doctor explained as we all looked around at each other.
“Yes! Victory is mine bitches!” I shouted out before I happily walked off with the doctor.
I could hear my ex whining in the background as I quietly snickered to myself. That’s what he gets for not relaxing.
I walked into the room to find her holding her newborn daughter against her chest. It was a beautiful sight.
“You know your husband is out there whining like a little kid right now.” I chuckled as I walked up to her.
“Good. That’s what he gets for asking the same questions over and over again.” She laughed.
I watched her baby wiggle around against her chest before she opened her eyes and looked at me. Her eyes were brown, and she looked at me curiously.
“Hello there, Hope. I’m your uncle, Taehyung.” I whispered to the baby with a smile on my face.
“So when can we expect you and Jungkook to have a child of your own?” She asked as our eyes met.
“I’m not sure. We don’t really have the time for a child right now.” I shrugged.
“Oh, please. You know Jungkook would adopt a child today if he could. You know how he is. He does stuff without thinking. So what’s stopping you, really?” She questioned.
“I guess I’m just scared that I won’t be good enough. I don’t have any experience with children, and I don’t want to mess up.” I admitted.
“Tae, there’s no such thing as a perfect parent. We all make mistakes, and it’s part of how we grow as people. I can tell that Jungkook wants a family with you. He helped me so much through my pregnancy that it felt like he was the one who was the father of my baby. You should talk to him about it when you both get a chance. Why wait if you both want the same things, right?”
“Jungkook has definitely rubbed off on you.” I chuckled.
“That he has. Now please tell my husband to come in before he ends up flooding the waiting room with his tears.” She laughed.
“You got it,” I said before I gently kissed her forehead and the baby's.
I waited in the waiting room with Jungkook. Everyone else had gone to see her and her baby while I told Jungkook to wait.
“Is something wrong? You look so serious right now.” Jungkook mentioned in a worried tone.
“Jungkook, I want to marry you and have a family with you. I want to have kids with you. I don’t care how we have kids, but I want them with you. I don’t mind if we have to kidnap someone’s kids. I just want a family with you. I was scared at first because I thought I wouldn’t be a good parent, but that’s not an excuse. There’s no such thing as a perfect parent, and I realize that now. I just want everything with you.”
“Let’s get married tomorrow, then. We can go to the adoption agency after that. We should look at houses now as well. I think our apartment will be too small for having a family.” Jungkook said happily.
“You don’t do anything like a normal person, do you?” I chuckled at him.
“Normal? That’s so boring. I don’t want to be like everyone else.” Jungkook winked at me.
“Yeah. You’re right. Normal is boring. Now let’s go see the happy couple and their baby.”
I threaded mine and Jungkook’s fingers as we walked down the hallway and into the room where the rest of our friends were. It was all smiles and laughter, with some tears of joy, as I looked around the room.
This was what love looked like, and this was what happiness looked like. It didn’t matter if Jungkook and I didn’t do things like normal couples do because he was right. Being normal and just like everyone else really was boring.
I never wanted a boring life with someone. I wanted adventure and excitement, but most importantly, I wanted to love.
Jeon Jungkook gave me all of those things, and I would forever be grateful to him. I know this was still just the beginning of our love, and it all started when I kissed a stranger.
