Chapter Text

„uncle…” a quiet voice sounded suddenly behind his back. Gokudera raised his head from above the papers he was filling out and looked over his shoulder at the 9-year-old standing on the doorway of his office. He didn't even hear when the toddler opened the door. He did it so quietly that if he hadn't spoken, Hayato would have continued to be engrossed in filling out papers for Juudaime.

Kai looked at him pleadingly with large brown eyes that were the same as those belonging to the boss.

„What happened?” he asked and the child crossed the doorway feeling invited inside.

„I don't understand math.” He said walking over and placing his exercise book on the desk. Gokudera looked at him slightly surprised.

In school, he had no problem with math, but he also never felt like explaining it to others. He was too easily irritated and gave in to his emotions when this fool asked a question that had just been answered.

„I asked Uncle Yama but he said he was never good at math and I should go to you for help.”

Of course he wasn't. thought Gokudera and a quick twitch passed over his face at the memory of his failed attempts to explain to Takeshi and Tsuna how Pythagoras' theorem works. He moved his hand over his face.

”Well, come on, let's see what we have here.” he brought a sympathetic smile to his face and moving the papers to one end of the table, making space for the boy's exercise book. The papers for the Tenth could wait while his son asked for help.

At that moment Hayato was bursting with pride, he felt appreciated and needed, and, of course, he would do anything for the Juudaime’s child.

Kai climbed into his lap and sat down comfortably leaning his shoulders against the dark wood table.

„what do you have to do?” „This page” he said, opening the book somewhere in the middle.

„you have to calculate the total prices of the objects in the picture… What don't you understand?” Gokudera asked, moving his eyes quickly over the task. They were really simple.
Kai looked unhappy.

„But I don't understand.”

„Okay, okay.” the gray-haired man giving up. He opened one of the drawers in the desk to pull out a clean sheet of paper.
