Work Text:

Sound echoed from the wooden door in your shared apartment as Bachira arrived from practice.

"I'm home~" He contentedly sighed.

One second.

Two seconds.

Three seconds.

Upon the absence of a reply, the boy went on his little adventure to find you. Skipping footsteps and quiet giggles could be heard as he neared the bedroom, thinking he was going to get the chance to jump at you and drown you in snuggles. He opened the door frenetically and energetically crouched next to the blanket bump in the bed that he believed was his girlfriend. Mischief flowing through his veins, he grabbed the edge of the warm blanket and threw it back as far as he could.

"Hel-lo, y/n! Rise and shine my sweet angel!"

Not knowing when your boyfriend got home, his voice and the sudden cold breeze snapped you out of your trance. Your tired gaze met his.

"Meguru?"

Bachira's playful state and wide smile instantly disappeared and turned into a frown when he saw your devitalized self. He was by your side in a blink, sitting next to you on the mattress with a hand resting on your hip. You being unhappy is an alert that makes Bachira immediately switch, making cheering you up his main mission.

"What got you so gloomy, bumblebee? Everything okay?"

Hearing his concerned tone made you cringe inside from guilt.

"It's nothing Meguru, really. Just some silly thought that keeps bugging me. I'll feel better tomorrow."

"But I don't want you to feel better tomorrow, I want you to feel better now. It's not silly if it's bothering you. Please?"

You hesitated silently a bit and shifted in the bed. A few seconds that felt like hours passed before you parted your lips to speak. After all, he was what you needed the most in this moment.

"I don't feel so good right now, Megu. It's like everything is boring and I want to do something fun, but everytime I try to do anything it just doesn't help me, even if it's one of my favorite activities. I can't find the motivation to keep trying to do something even if I want to, but that makes me feel like I'm procrastinating. I don't want to be an unproductive hassle."

Your voice broke while you spoke your thoughts out in what you knew was a rushed and incomprehensible speech. However, Bachira was all ears, listening to you in one of his rare quiet moments. You abruptly sat up in bed, your hands fleeing to cover your face, as despair took over.

"I don't know what to do or what's wrong with me."

You felt tears begin to pool in your (e/c) eyes before two gentle arms guided your body to Bachira's warm one as he enveloped you with care. You pressed your head to his shoulder, your face muscles slowly relaxing and tears dropping.

"I understand that feeling, bumblebee. I feel that same feeling a lot of times. Sometimes I don't feel the passion of what I'm doing and it makes me so tired. Sometimes it feels like I lack motivation to do things despite me wanting to.

I know it's hard y/n, but I want to tell you that I'll always support you and I will always cheer for you. I'm here for you anytime, my sweet angel."

That's all it took from him to make you stop holding back and let your previous slow tears flow uncontrollably. He held you, rubbing your back in circles. This is why you loved him so much. He always knew what to say and what to do; how to say it and how to do it. He was your guardian angel that was there to comfort and protect you, no matter the cause.

In the presence of him, you didn't feel the need to cover your hiccups or avoid letting it all out. When your shaking significantly ceased, you felt your voice strong enough to not break when you spoke up.

"What can I do to help it?"

He put some thought into it while tapping your back with his finger.

"How about we try and rest a little? That always helps me. Just stop worrying too much about it and put your thoughts at ease. Let's try and relax, yeah?"

His soft voice was so convincing as he spoke barely over a whisper, making you nod at his suggestion.

"Will you stay?"

"Of course I will, bumblebee. Promise I won't let you go until you feel better."

"Thank you, Megu. I really don't know what would I do without you."

"No problem." His tone was uncharacteristically low and relaxed.

That said, he cradled you in his arms, supporting you as he laid you both onto the bed and under the welcoming blanket, offering himself as your cushion. You gladly accepted the tenderness, pressing your bodies impossibly closer. Your head rested peacefully on his chest and your limbs were tangled, locking yourselves in each other's grasp. The arms around your waist tightened and Bachira placed a soft kiss upon your forehead. Then, he decided to be even more sweet and started to lightly rock both of you as much as he could in this position. He also began to hum a happy and calming tune contentedly, the vibrations from his ribcage echoing in your ear. You always thought he had a very nice voice, so that combined with his warmth and soothing ministrations was enough to successfully lull you to sleep.

"I'm here."

Those were the last words you heard before eventually drifting off.

-----------------------------

Bachira noticed as your breath evened out and your heartbeat steadily slowed down against his chest, meaning that you finally got a shut-eye. The sight of your peaceful face as he leaned back a little, free of any perturbations as you slept soundly in his arms, made Bachira shed a single tear of relief he didn't know he was holding back, letting it run down his cheek as his smile enlarged.

He calmly wiped it off as he soothed your back muscles with his hand, feeling you happily press closer to him. Bachira hated seeing you sad, because you meant the world to him, and he would do anything to help his world if they were feeling down. So, him actually achieving it made his heart tighten in reassurance. He lovingly nuzzled his face in your hair.

"I love you so much, my buzzing bee."

At last, with your inviting warmth and comforting embrace, he too fell asleep.
