Summary:

January 25 Prompt: Greek mythology, Clytemnestra and Orestes, the Furies won't let you justify matricide, but patriarchy will.

Work Text:

Sparta’s daughter looked with contempt on the mess her son had made of her death, fuming in Hades even as the Furies raced to avenge her.

“I would not forgive him were it a command from Zeus himself, but Apollo!” She would not, could not, accept the authority of a god who demanded allegiance despite siding with their enemies, however drenched in light and law he appeared now.
