Myth

Summary:

Suguru hopes that it's worth it.

Notes:

WARNING: obsessions + possession

Work Text:

When Suguru was young, his parents often told him about the creatures of the ocean, particularly the being who protects the creatures and kills the people who dare trespass into their territory.

Suguru is a curious and patient man, which are good (or deadly, depending on how you look at it) traits to have when searching for the unknown.

It’s his lifelong dream to meet your kind, you see. He just doesn’t expect that you’d find him first.

When he saw you bathing in the moonlight with your glowing skin and sharp nails claws, he forgot his name.

He reaches out a hand to you; you stare at him for a long time before grabbing his hand, and he smiles but yells when you drag him underwater.

Instead of fighting, he lets you have your way because, if he were to die, he’d want to die looking at your beauty.

In your element, you look like a fallen angel. An angel sent from above to cleanse his dark and tired soul.

You looked confused when he didn’t fight you, and he must’ve done something you liked for you to swim him to the surface, where he selfishly inhaled the oxygen.

You stare at his clothes, his hair, and his mouth before landing on his eyes. "You are strange."

Now that’s a surprise. You can talk.

He laughs in relief and happiness because his dream has finally been realized. "So I’ve been told."

"Name? Wh-what is your name?"

He told you his name, and you told him yours.

Maybe because it’s your first time not killing a human in sight, but you warmed up to him. You trusted him, you understood him better than his parents, you believed in him, and you loved him.

Isn’t it obvious with the way you’re swimming around him while he’s floating in the ocean? Isn’t it obvious with the way your claws trace a pattern on his face, checking his nose, cheeks, and mouth.

But you have to understand; you’re not leaving. He’s spent all his life searching for you, so how can you leave him alone again? How can you leave him after his sacrifice to search for you?

They thought of him as a crazy and obsessive man; even his parents thought of him as mentally unstable, even when they were the ones who told him about you.

"Suguru! Stop them!" You yelled while fighting off the men who were trying to put you in the big glass jail he had commissioned just for you. His men struggled to contain you. "Suguru!"

Your claw fatally tears through one of his crew. The struggles stopped as his men rushed to that crew’s aid, and you took that as a chance to flee. These useless monkeys!

His heart beat faster as he rushed to get to you. "Don’t! Don’t you dare!" You ignored him.

"I’ll kill them all!" he declared, just to stop you from fleeing. You momentarily stop in your tracks to glare at him. "I’ll kill them all if you leave!"

His warning fell on deaf ears as you dove straight into the raging waters. Suguru glares at the ocean, cursing because raging and dark waves hid the direction you went through.

But no matter. He is a patient man. A very patient man, but even a patient man has their limits. And now, he has reached his.

"Set sail!"

He hopes it’s worth it because, once he finds you, you’d never swim again.
