MC whistled cheerfully as they closed the door to the fridge with a bump of their hip. Hopping back over to the kitchen counter, they unscrewed the bottle cap and poured what was left of the juice into a glass. After placing the glass on the tray, MC stepped back to check over all the items to ensure they were up to standard. On a plate sat a hefty turkey sandwich big enough to fill an empty belly and then some. It was on sourdough bread loaded with the usual fixings of cheese, lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and mayo. Two pickle spears laid on the same plate at both sides of the sandwich, accompanied by a bag of plain, salted chips. After a bit of back and forth, the sensible decision for dessert was a small bowl of red, seedless grapes. All in all, a perfectly healthy meal to give back some energy.
Grabbing the tray by the handles, MC smiled proudly, "Yeah, this has to be the best sandwich I've made yet. Really do hope Levi enjoys this."
About two weeks ago, Evil Residence 4 Remake came out, and it's a game that Levi had been looking forward to since they announced it. Usually, he'd be at the store on Day One to get his copy, but this time around, the demon opted out of that since he had preordered the collector's edition online. So while everyone else was posting about playing the game online, Levi was stuck at home trying to wait patiently for his. When it did show up on their doorstep, he had holed himself up in his room, only coming out for hygienic purposes. Having hung out in the otaku's room plenty of times, MC knew he had a stockpile of snacks and drinks that he could live off of until he was ready to join the living again. Getting a bit worried over what Levi was putting into his system, they decided to give him some sustenance and ensure he was okay.
MC exited the kitchen with the tray in hand and went toward Levi's room. As they climbed the stairs, chatter from the dining room rang loudly. From what could be made out, it mainly consisted of Mammon complaining about how Beel had eaten a good portion of his dinner. Satan trying to protect whatever he had left of his and failing miserably. And Lucifer scolding them all and threatening to punish everyone in the room. To this, Asmo whined that it was unfair that he got roped into the mess when he had nothing to do with it. If MC had to guess, Belphie not interjecting was due to him sleeping at the table. They chuckled and made a mental note to speak to Lucifer later and smooth things.
After climbing the rest of the stairs and going through the hall, MC stood in front of Levi's bedroom door. On the side, they stood; muffled noises from the TV and Levi's frustration could be heard. Trying as carefully as possible, MC balanced the tray in one hand and gave the door a couple of hard knocks.
"Levi! It's me! Mind opening up for me? I got something for you!"
All sound paused except for Levi scrambling about. MC giggled a bit, imagining Levi being caught off guard by their visit and panicking. Instead, the demon fumbled with the knob before opening the door wide. He brought his arm up to cover his eyes and hissed. "AH! That hurts!"
"Did you actually just hiss?"
"It's bright out here!"
"But so is the TV!"
He rubbed his eyes and blinked a few times, "Those are two different kinds of lights!"
MC rolled their eyes, "If you say so. Anyway, I bring you a feast!" They lifted up the tray to iterate the statement. "It's been three days, and I thought you should have some kind of a decent meal if you wanted to continue gaming."
Levi looked down at the tray, "Y-You didn't have to do this. I would've gone down to eat something."
"Now, that is a definite lie." Slipping passed Levi, MC entered the room and walked to the small table near the TV. They placed the tray down and pointed at a spot on the floor. "If there's one thing I've learned from having known you all this time, you try to limit your time away from it when a new game comes out. So, the sooner you get over here and eat, the sooner you can return to it."
The otaku closed the door and quickly went where he was told to be. As he ate his meal quietly, MC went around his room, which needed tidying up. So they grabbed the trash can and picked up the empty cans of D-Energy, bags of chips, wrappers of various meal bars, some instant ramen cups, and other remnants of snack items. Good thing they brought him a meal when they did.
Once everything was in order, MC placed the trash can next to the door for them to toss out when they left. They decided to get comfortable and climbed into Levi's bedtub. Truth be told, they still found it odd that the demon slept in it, but it was actually quite comfortable. There were plenty of times when MC would come over to hang with Levi and end up cocooning themselves instead.
Their thoughts were disrupted by the TV. Levi returned to playing the game after having polished off everything from the tray except the grapes. He had a concentrated look on his face as his fingers moved fast on the control in his hand. In between moments when enemies weren't in the area, he'd reach into the bowl and pop a grape in his mouth.
MC fluffed a pillow and propped it against their back, "Enjoyed the food?"
"Mm-hmm. Thanks for making it for me," Levi responded, not once taking his eyes off the TV.
"Glad to hear. So, what's this game about?"
A GAME OVER flashed on the screen, and Levi let out a frustrated sigh, "It's about Leo, a retired special agent, who's asked to go rescue a high government official's son that was kidnapped. No zombies, just people infected by parasites. Few gruesome monsters and creatures to give you nightmares for days." He picked up the controller and selected the continue option, "And a final area that is kicking my ass."
MC watched intently as the demon tapped away at his controller. The character on screen took down enemies left and right. Some good hits connected, bringing down the HP bar over time. Levi brought up the menu every so often to check on his inventory; ammo and healing items were extremely low, the weapons were completely empty, not enough materials to do much of anything with. He continued onward but ultimately failed.
Again he sighed and tried it all over, desperately trying a different way to go about all this. Finally, it seemed like he would succeed for a moment, but the character got sucker punched into another game over.
Levi pinched the bridge of his nose, "For the love of everything unholy…."
The otaku continued this pattern of replaying at least five more times. Each time he lost, MC could feel him getting increasingly frustrated. The last time Levi rage quit over a game, the controller left a hole through the TV, and the tank that kept Henry 2.0 ended up having a hairline crack. Not to mention Lucifer gave Levi the tongue-lashing of his life. With how things had been going so far, MC bet the outcome would be worse this time.
"Oh, come on!" Levi yelled out as those pesky words again popped up on the screen.
The demon's grip on the controller tightened, MC felt themselves panic. They searched around the bed with their hand until they felt a plushie. Once in hand, they tossed it and watched as the item hit Levi on the back of his head. Levi turned to face MC, a look of annoyance on his face. They knew it wasn't because of what was done but because of his patience with the game.
MC quickly put their arms out, "C-Cuddles!"
Levi's eyes widened, "What?!"
Yeah, MC was asking themselves the same thing. But, unfortunately, they were so caught up in trying to prevent a disaster that they blurted out the first thing that came to mind.
"Y-You heard me! I want you to cuddle with me!"
His face turned completely crimson, "W-Where is this coming from?!"
"From missing you."
"M-MISSING ME?!" Levi shrieked out.
Now MC was starting to feel embarrassed. "Yes! I haven't seen you since you got the game, which made me lonely" They made a grabby-hand motion at the demon, "And you look like you need to take a break. What better way to do so than by getting in here with me and cuddling."
Levi looked like he would curl up into a ball and roll away to hide if he could. Seeing the demon a blushing mess made them want to tease him, but they decided to put that on the back burner. He covered his face with his hand and looked at MC, "Are you sure you want to share a bed with a yucky otaku like me?"
"Leviathan, if you don't get in here in the next second, I'll-"
They didn't even finish the sentence; Levi had instantly jumped in from his spot. According to Solomon, everyone in the house seemed to fear them in some way, shape, or form. They couldn't understand why since they were always so nice .
MC watched as Levi stiffly settled in next to them. He rested his head on the pillow while trying to keep his arms away from them. It didn't matter how often the pair had been this close; Levi always became a nervous wreck. The blush was still as intense as it had been before; actually, it had migrated up to his ears. The demon's body shook occasionally; he probably tried his best to stop it from doing so. His breathing looked like he was close to hyperventilating.
Carefully, MC lifted their hand to caress Levi's cheek, causing him to flinch. "Relax."
"I-I'm trying to," he stuttered. "Still not used to being this close to you."
"Even after all this time? You should be used to me already."
They moved closer to the demon as their hand traveled to his hair. The bangs were moved out of the way revealing his forehead; softly, MC placed a kiss on it. A small gasp came from Levi, but that didn't stop them. They continued peppering kisses down his temple, on his cheek, and along his jaw. The squirming reactions coming from Levi with each kiss satisfied MC. Finally, they pulled back some and looked Levi in his eyes; the nervousness was replaced by a deep want.
Levi grabbed onto MC's hip, "Please...Kiss me…"
"Hmm…. I don't know," MC brushed their lips against his.
"You said you wanted me to relax, right? It'll help me relax. Please, please kiss me."
MC couldn't help but smirk, "Only because you asked nicely."
Cupping Levi's face in their hands, they leaned in to give the needy otaku what he wanted. Their lips pressed against each other; the softness caught MC off guard. He was clumsy and desperate, but MC would correct him when needed. Though the space between the pair was nonexistent, it felt like it wasn't enough; it felt like they could get closer. MC felt like they wanted more of Levi than he did.
As things began to head down the heated path, Levi broke away and buried his face into MC's shoulder. "Nope! No more kissing! It is doing soooooooo much more than making me relax!"
MC laughed, "I mean, some excitement isn't bad."
"MC!"
"Okay! Okay! I'll be good!" They held onto the demon and gave the side of his head a peck. "Now, let's get nice and comfy. I'll be staying here all night. I'm going to get my three days' worth of cuddling!"
Levi smiled, “That I can deal with.” He situated himself into MC and all but melted. The tension in his body left instantly. “This would’ve been better in your bed.”
“Because it’s bigger?”
“Mm-hm.”
They inhaled deeply; the scent of fresh linen filled their nose, “Well, I like it better here because then you can’t go anywhere.”
“Couldn’t escape even if I-” he let out a long yawn.
“I think it’s a little envy demon’s bedtime.” They kissed him again before closing their eyes, “Goodnight, Levi.”
“Goodnight, MC.”
