Chapter Text
Everyone, once in their life, has heard about one of the greek gods. Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Athena, Ares, and so many others.
There are lots of myths, stories, legends and tales about them. But there is one of them that is usually forgotten. One who had an important role.
The important role of taking care of all the children affected by the god’s actions. One who made no distinction between mortal kids, demigods and godly ones.
His name was Lunario… the god of innocence, the moon, kindness, and, most importantly… kids.
This whole story starts a looong time ago… on the town of Athens!
It was the middle of the night, and two kids had scaped their homes to meet alone. They had a lot to talk about, and they didn’t want any adult eavesdropping.
“So, how has your mom been after… you know?” a boy asked, scared of addressing directly what happened.
His friend sighed.
“I… have never seen her that sad… but, I can’t say I am much better… Losing my father has been hard to all of us” the girl answered.
Recently, a lot of Athenian man were being sent on a suicide mission.
On the island of Crete, a powerful beast had been trapped on an unescapable maze, and Athenian men had been sent there to be sacrificed for the creature.
Many families were suffering from the loss of their husbands.
On Ancient Greek, women weren’t allowed to do anything, besides ‘Standing Still’ or ‘Looking Pretty’. The whole family was dependent of the men, and now… many were on a complicated situation.
“Wish we could do something about it… but there is nothing to do” the boy said.
“Well… we could pray! Maybe, a god will answer it…” the girl suggested, with a bit of hope on her heart.
“Ophelia… the gods started this problem. They only interfere if it affects them. None of them will help us out of poor will to help” the boy spoke, not as hopeful as his friend.
As soon as he said that, though, the moon that was illuminating the night sky with the help of the stars glowed blue, and a special ray of light touched the ground.
A small figure, then, started to materialize from it. The two kids turned around, surprised by the event.
That light was slowly taking form, and the children feared what it could mean. Perhaps, an angered deity after revenge?
Fortunately from that, it was far from it.
“I wouldn’t be so sure of that…” the figure said, fully appearing. It ended up being a boy that was about their age.
He had pale blue skin, and dark blue eyes. He had different vestments from anything they had ever seen.
What drew their attention the most, however, was the excess of moon symbols scattered around his outfit.
“Who… who are you?!” the two mortals asked. The magical boy smiled as an answer.
“Well… let’s just say I am a… little help. But, you two can call me: Lunario” Lunario said, finally presenting himself.
