It was stormy in FARAWAY town, SUNNY didn't like storms. This meant that he always called BASIL to stay with him during storms.
"Sorry that you had to walk here in the storm." SUNNY said blandly, though there was a hint of empathy. "SUNNY, don't worry about it, I had an umbrella." BASIL said this and kicked off his muddy boots at the front door, making sure not to have any mud splash around. SUNNY took off BASIL's raincoat for him as an attempt to say thank you. "Oh! Thanks SUNNY-..." BASIL said this and blushed slightly from the determination in SUNNY's eyes as he did this. They stood in silence for a moment before SUNNY pointed upstairs. "... My room?" SUNNY inquired awkwardly. BASIL nodded and followed SUNNY up the stairs. Halfway up the stairs there was a loud boom from the thunder, SUNNY shrieked and held BASIL, he noticed that he was holding BASIL and blushed. He then quickened his pace up the stairs. BASIL also blushed and followed SUNNY upstairs. They got to his room and sat on his bed. "SUNNY, I didn't know you grew flowers like me!" BASIL hopped up from the bed and examined the flowers closely while saying this. It had been a while since BASIL had come over, so he wasn’t aware of this. "It was a surprise for you." SUNNY said this shyly and smiled. "Aww thank you!" BASIL hugged SUNNY. SUNNY hugged him back and enjoyed the moment.
They eventually let go of each other and BASIL gave a wobbly smile. SUNNY watched his lips curl awkwardly and smiled softly, if you weren’t paying as close attention to SUNNY like BASIL was then you would miss it. “I like your smile.” SUNNY said, this time his sentence was filled with emotion. BASIL looked shocked, he didn’t dislike the comment, it just caught him off guard. This was the first time SUNNY was speaking this much, and that combined with a heartfelt compliment? That meant the world to BASIL. “Oh, thanks, I appreciate it.” BASIL stumbled through his words and blushed from the embarrassment of not being able to hold it together. SUNNY wouldn’t admit it, but he really liked BASIL for all these qualities, he adored them. Whenever BASIL would get flustered, rant, or even just smile, SUNNY would feel electricity bounce around in his stomach and chest. He could almost explode from how good it made him feel to see BASIL happy.
BASIL noticed this, but refused to think of it as anything that went past platonic. So he just looked at SUNNY lovingly. BASIL loved SUNNY just as much as SUNNY loved him. BASIL loved the way SUNNY’s eyes would slightly light up when he was around BASIL, he loved when he would speak even just a single word, he loved how loyal he was. BASIL knew that he was in love, but he didn’t believe SUNNY could ever love him back.
SUNNY yawned. He was a bit afraid to sleep nowadays, he was afraid that he would succumb to his HEADSPACE once again, but he knew that if he persisted he would be fine. BASIL giggled and laid down next to SUNNY. SUNNY also laid down and got under the covers. They eventually fell asleep in each others arms.
