Chapter Text
Pearl wasn't a good person, but she still tried.
"Mom! Get over here!" Froggy was yelling and sounded worried.
"Coming Froggy!"
Pearl had to stop cutting the fish she was cooking for the tacos but that felt unimportant.
Pearl was walking down the hall when she smelled rotten wood.
"Oh no."
She knew what that smell meant in her home.
When she got to the living room, she could see the damage. Tilly was backed to the wall with Froggy holding onto her shirt. Opposite to them was the remains of a houseplant.
Its once green leaves are drying and falling off and its bark is tearing apart from the center. The clear signs of decay told Pearl exactly who did it.
"Tilly. Did you do this?"
Pearl's voice was filled with concern. The dog hybrid nodded her head.
"Tilly is sorry for that. There was a spider on the wall when Tilly and Froggy were playing, and it scared Tilly and Tilly touched the plant. And it started to die and Tilly can't control it. Tilly is so sorry." She was sad.
Pearl was quick to activate her powers to temporarily disable Tillys. Tilly looked exhausted and Froggy looked at her with worry.
"Is she in trouble?"
Froggy was worried for her sister.
"No Tilly isn't in trouble. It was my fault for putting the plant so close to you guys. There's no need to worry. You're fine Tilly."
The day went on as normal after that. No more incidents would occur with Tillys power or Froggys [though hers were less unstable then Tillys but still]. They would eat the tacos Pearl had made. Then afterwards she would put the two to sleep.
Pearl would finish the day looking out the balcony to see the city. If it weren't for the Heroes and Villains of the city, then maybe Tilly and Froggy would be seen less like high priority and more like normal kids. Pearl was not a good person, but she still tried.
