Work Text:

Why does it always have to be my room?

The third years, with the exception of Sawamura, were once again, gathered in Miyuki's dorm he has all to himself. The catcher sees no point in it being held in his room. He sighs as he watches Jun roar about some scary movie they were going to watch.

Wait.

Miyuki immediately tenses up, and he can feel his palms become clammy, and his heart rate picks up. He tries not to show his discomfort to the team, they would tease him about it for ages. It's not that Miyuki is scared, per se, of horror films, rather...he's absolutely terrified.

The third years set up the movie, and someone hits off the lights. The room is quickly filled with darkness, and it sends a shiver up Miyuki's spine. Everyone gets settled in on the floor, Sawamura coming up to sit by Miyuki on his bed. He looks over to Miyuki with bright eyes, and smiles softly at him. The catcher returns it weakly. The younger brunette looks at him knowingly, and scoots a hairs breath closer to him.

The loudmouth pitcher is really the only one who knows of Miyuki's fear, and irronically, he's kept quiet about it.

"Ehh!? You didn't like the scary movie? What, were you scared?"

"Idiot! Of course I wasn't scared....I was-I was t-terrfied!"

The pitcher immediately stops what he's about to say and looks over to the obnoxious catcher. He's gone a bit pale and his hands are shaking a little. Guilt washes over him, and he goes over to the bed, where the catcher was sitting.

"Hey hey, I'm sorry, ok?"

"Moron, j-just don't tell anyone."

Sawamura smiles, and leans a little into the older boy.

"Okay.."

Miyuki hears the eerie intro music come on, and on reflex, grabs onto the closest thing to him, which happened to be a pitcher with golden eyes, and a sunshine smile. Sawamura jumps from the sudden contact, looking over at Miyuki with raised eyebrows, but doesn't shake him off. The catcher is thankful for that.

Only a few minutes in, and so far it hasn't been too bad, but that could also do with the fact that he can feel the heat, radiating off Sawamura from where he's got his arm. Miyuki is just beginning to feel a little comfortable when, a petrified scream fills the air, and the catcher just about jumps ten feet in the air. He scoots impossibly close to the pitcher, practically sitting in his lap.

Sawamura, unfased by the scream, slowly wraps an arm around the spectacled brunette. Miyuki makes a shaky, but contentful hum. Thank God no one has turned around, or the two of them would be getting hounded on by the third years for weeks.

Halfway into the movie, Miyuki's hands have not stopped shaking, and he can feel a cold sweat run down the back of his neck. The older boy sees a masked guy, cutting a woman's stomach open as she screams for him to stop, and blood, so much blood.

The catcher's entire body shivers and he turns his face away from the horrorfying sight, and into the crook of the pitcher's neck. He inhales his scent; warm summer breezes, freshly mown grass, sweat and another scent that is solely the other boy, and is instantly comforted.

Sawamura is watching on, a bored expression painting his face when he feels the catcher turn his face into his neck. He can feel his cheeks warm up just a bit, but says nothing to the spectacled boy clinging to him. The younger brunette tightens his hold around the catcher, his lips turning up slightly.

They're getting to the climax of the film, and Miyuki has unwillingly turned back to the screen. He's shaking so bad, he sees Sawamura give him a concerned look. The catcher send him a wobbly smile and once again looks back to the film. A man is walking into an abandoned shed, Jun yelling at the screen, telling the man who obviously cannot hear him, not to go in. The sound of footsteps flow from the TV, and the man turns around slowly when-

"Hyahahahah!"

Kuramochi, that bastard, burst into Miyuki's room, flinging the door open in the process.

Miyuki yelps and tackles Sawamura onto the bed, both of them going down in a tangle of arms and legs. The rest of the team jumps and yells at the second year for interrupting their movie. The shortsop laughs aloud, and complains about how no one told him about movie night being tonight, and goes to join the rest on the floor. He glances at the duo on the bed, eyebrows shooting up, a smirk on his lips. He makes eyecontact with Miyuki, and gives him a 'We'll talk about this later' look.

The catcher's cheeks are tinted pink, as he tries to pry himself off of the boy beneath him, but the pitcher stops him with a firm hand, and lifts his head up just a few inches and warm, lips come into contact with the older boy's cheeks. Miyuki's eyes widen, and his face, once pink, is now a beet red. Sawamura goes to sit up and Miyuki quickly moves off of him. The air was a little awkward between them. They're still sitting closer than two male friends should though.

The movie ended but the third years agreed they should watch another movie, since Kuramochi interrupted this one. The shortstops laughs loudly in repsponse.

This time, it's an action and Miyuki's body sags in relief. He looks over and sees the loudmouth pitcher looks, dissapointed? Jun puts on the movie and everyone, once again, gets settled. Just as the intro credits roll in, Miyuki scoots right up next to Sawamura. The younger boy glances over at him, and leans over to whisper,"Hey, do you not like action movies either?" The spectacled boy stills for a moment, then looks back to the golden-eyed boy, and he shyly laces their fingers together, then shakes his head. The younger brunette's face seems to light up, then he presses himself closer to the catcher.

Throughout the entire film, the two boys were still holding hands, and Miyuki leaned his head on Sawamura's shoulders. Both boys faces were on fire, but each had a small smile etched onto them.

Horror movies were awful, terribly frightening and it made Miyuki's stomach tighten in the most uncomfortable way. But, he had a loud, hyperactive pitcher there, so he guesses he can bear another movie night.

"Hey, do you not like action movies either?"

Miyuki actually loved them, but no one needed to know.
