Work Text:
It had been a rough day for everyone.
The boys were restless and on edge after a long and stormy night filled with rain and thunder that kept them all awake.
Dean could sense their restlessness and knew that he had to do something to calm them down. He quickly got to work in the kitchen, cooking up a big pot of soup to warm them up on this cold, rainy day. He could hear the rain coming down in sheets outside.
Meanwhile, Balthazar was taking a much-needed nap in his room. He had been up all night dealing with the storm, and he needed to catch up on some sleep. Castiel and Gabriel were in the living room, building towers with some giant blocks.
Sam was sitting at the table, his eyes glued to the computer screen.; probably looking into something he might be a case.
"Stop it! Cas - you're ruining everythin-g!" Gabriel's voice echoed through the living room, causing Sam to glance up from his computer screen to see what was going on.
He saw Gabriel's face twisted in anger and frustration, and he followed the direction of his gaze to Castiel, who was standing there with a look of confusion on his face.
Castiel had accidentally dropped a block on the top of Gabriel's tower, causing it to tumble down and land on Gabriel's leg.
Castiel looked confused, not really understanding what he had accidentally just done.
Gabriel immediately got up and grabbed Castiel's wrist, hitting it forcefully, causing Castiel to cry out in pain and beg Gabriel to stop.
However, before Gabriel could continue to hit Castiel's wrist, Sam immediately jumped up from his chair and rushed over to intervene. He quickly grabbed Gabriel and pulled him away from Castiel, trying to calm him down and diffuse the situation.
Castiel was left in shock, holding his wrist tightly as he watched the altercation unfold. He had never seen Gabriel like this before, and it frightened him.
Before Sam could even look at castiel, he was already running to his bedroom.
“What are you doing?,” Sam said in shock, facing Gabriel and looking at him; not that he was looking back, his eyes were on his feet.
.
“You can’t be going around hitting your brother.” Sam said. His voice soft but firm.
He knelt down to Gabriel's level, trying to get him to look him in the eyes.
Gabriel looked at him briefly, then his gaze quickly shifted to his own wrist, where he had a bruise.
Sam noticed the bruise and his expression softened.
"Did Cas do that to you?" he asked gently.
Gabriel shook his head no. Sam waited patiently, giving him time to gather his thoughts.
"Who did it then?" Sam asked.
Gabriel hesitated, but then he looked up at Sam with tears in his eyes.
"..School," he said softly. Sam's heart sank. He had a feeling he knew where this was going.
"What do you mean, which kids?" Sam asked.
Gabriel just shook his head.
“No kids?”
“…No..”
Sam just waited patiently for Gabriel to continue, rubbing his thumb over where Gabriel’s bruise. The bruise looked new, and it was Saturday, if it is from school its probably from yesterday then; which will explain why Gabriel has been grumpy since yesterday.
Gabriel finally spoke up, his voice barely above a whisper. "Ms. Noemi," he said, tears streaming down his face.
Sam’s mind struggling to make sense of what he had just heard. The thought of that teacher leaning a hand aggressively on Gabriel’s had him wanting to throw up.
Sam sat down Gabriel on the couch and placed a hand on his back. "Gabriel, can you tell me more about what happened with Ms. Noemi?" he asked softly.
Gabriel shook his head, still avoiding eye contact with Sam.
"She hurt me," he whispered, tears streaming down his face.
“I believe you,” Sam nodded, gently rubbed Gabriel’s back, trying to calm him down. "Do you remember what happened that day when Ms. Noemi hit you?" he asked.
Gabriel looked away. “You can tell me, I won’t be mad, Gab,”
Gabriel hesitated, then nodded. "I was talking with mark," he explained, his voice trembling.
“And then she bruised your wrist?,” Sam was still eyeing the big bruise on Gabriel’s small wrist.
Gabriel nodded, Sam's heart sank at the thought of Gabriel being treated this way.
Sam just pulled him into a hug. He could feel Gabriel shaking trying to hide his sobs, and he held him tightly, trying to reassure him that everything was going to be alright.
"I'm so sorry that this happened to you, Gabriel," he said softly.
Dean had heard the commotion from the kitchen and came into the living room. He saw Sam holding Gabriel and knew immediately that something was wrong.
"What happened?" Dean asked, concern etched on his face.
Gabriel looked up at Dean and then buried his face in Sam's shoulder. Sam looked up at Dean, eyes watering with tears.
Sam gently pulled up Gabriel's sleeve to reveal the clearly visible bruise on his arm. Dean's face twisted in anger and disbelief as he saw it.
"Who did this to you, Gabriel?" Dean asked, his voice shaking with anger.
Gabriel remained silent, clinging to Sam's side. Sam spoke up, "He told me that his teacher, Ms. Noemi, did this to him."
Dean's face turned from anger to disbelief, "His teacher? That's not right, that's not okay."
Sam nodded in agreement, "I know, I can't believe it either. We need to do something about this."
He looked up at Sam with tear-streaked cheeks. "I don't want to go back to school," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Dean took a deep breath and tried to steady his voice, "you can take a break, gab." He inhaled a breath “but we still need to make sure that she doesn’t hurt anybody else.”
Sam nodded again, Gabriel looked at dean with scared eyes.
"Your safe, Gabriel," Sam said, rubbing his back soothingly.
Dean added, "We'll make sure this doesn't happen again. You don't have to be afraid."
Gabriel looked up at them with teary eyes and gave a small nod of understanding.
Sam and Dean exchanged a look of determination - they were going to make sure that Gabriel and his brothers were safe and protected, no matter what.
Gabriel was still scared, but he found comfort in the fact that his brothers(dads), were there for him and would always protect him from harm.
