Amon is known for its strength. Determination. He is also famous in the female (and male) handsome department, not as a model or an idol, but as an athlete, a sculpture.
People also talk about how serious he is, but if Houji could put it any other way it would be idiotic.
You see, this man can receive piles of candy and gifts and still not take any women out, it's first sight is chivalry, so a naive girl decides to use her not so developed skills in the kitchen to please him and Amon is still oblivious.
Does he not have time for love? What is that? The Edo period? Amon is not a samurai, why doesn't he settle down?
(Houji is aware that it's hypocrisy, when he doesn't take time for his personal life himself)
Then the second person of the equation comes into play. Akira Mado, people misjudge her, she is seen as cold and arrogant, ungrateful, skilled but without warmth.
They may be right at some point, but Akira is softer than he lets on, despite her always logical answers, she makes an effort to hear the person's side when it matters.
She lets people in and lets them go, Akira doesn't know how to keep people in her life, she may have tried to grab Amon but failed, ever since then she's been letting him go.
Akira is good at being clever and debating, but she has questionable social skills, she's literal and very radical, her language is sharp and prodding.
She's given up on Amon, Houji noted, which makes him angry, she's not a lonely maiden, what's that? Meiji period?
After much thought, Houji accepts the challenge, the solemn and honorable challenge, so that Kureo can rest in peace without worrying about Akira.
He will unite these two pathetic people in love at any cost.
First try
"Koutarou-kun, Akira-chan, we received a report about a ghoul inside Hikarigaoka Park."
A classic cliché, an inquiry in a place as beautiful as the metropolitan park, even though Houji couldn't be there to witness it, he was sure that would help the romantic mood blossom between the two.
However, the pair of investigators didn't look excited at all.
"Attack rates have dropped a lot since we came here, I don't think a ghoul would risk it in such an open place." Akira looked it over dryly, arranging some papers.
Houji hid his displeasure behind a soft smile.
"Still, Akira-chan it's important that we check this kind of report, don't you think, Koutarou-kun?"
Amon thought for a few moments, but Houji realized that he wasn't instigated enough.
"Sorry, Houji-san, but Akira has to finish the reports for doctor Chigyou and I have to deal with investigator Fura on business." Amon was justified "Usually most reports are false, we can't waste time or resources on that."
Damn it! He couldn't make it look like an emergency, otherwise Amon's determination to save a life wouldn't allow them room to approach properly.
But since when was that man so thorough in everything being so careless?
"My classmates were always making prank calls to the police or the CCG, they liked to see if they really came to check, I imagine it's still a recurring thing."
"Tch, a waste of time." Amon said in frustration.
Houji sighed as discreetly as possible, aware that neither of them were willing to go and verify the supposed complaint, moreover, if he kept insisting, Akira might want to know at what point he was informed of the report.
The older investigator gave up, but when he left the office, before closing the door, he could witness more of the interaction between the two.
Amon approached Akira, very calmly, he quickly checked the reports that she had already finished.
"Need help with something?" He asked, looking at her with a slight smile.
Akira shook her head without taking her eyes off the documents.
"Go to your date soon." She dismissed him "You didn't use Investigator Fura as an excuse to find a woman, did you? That would be low."
Houji couldn't see it clearly, but apparently Amon wasn't angry or embarrassed, it was an interesting reaction.
Unfortunately, he can't see the rest, Amon got up, putting on his jacket, Houji left.
