Chapter Text
Sanji is an observant man. Especially when his subject of observation is a woman. So while no one noticed, your dampened mood didn't escape his caring gaze. As the young man normally did when he saw a lovely lady upset, he was immediately by your side, holding and kissing your hand to see what's wrong. In return, you offered him a smile, followed with a small chuckle at his antics, and told him you were okay. That smile was indeed believable, it can fool most people, but certainly not Sanji. However, noticing that he won't be successful in making you say it out loud, he decided he'd just make you feel better, no matter what was bothering you. And what better way to do that than surprise you with flowers?
The Sunny was docked at some bustling town and some of the straw hats had already left to have a look around. The rest opted to stay on the ship and chat leisurely. Sanji went on his mission to find a flower shop and was quick to return after accomplishing it. He decided on buying a big bouquet of red roses, wrapped in a soft cream colored paper. He was sure you'd love them and your mood would be lifted.
As he got back on the ship, you were immediately in his field of vision. You were listening to the others’ conversation but still had that saddened look in your eyes and you stayed quiet. He went up to you and stood behind you as he tapped your shoulder. When you turned around, your eyes were met with the most beautiful roses you had ever seen. Then you looked at the man holding them and immediately smiled. This time, Sanji could tell it was genuine.
"Sanji! Why are you giving me flowers?" You said between laughs. Goal achieved.
"A frown doesn't suit a beautiful lady such as yourself. I thought the roses would bring out your smile, but you ended up bringing out their beauty with your own" he beamed at you, making you drunk on his flattering words. You laughed again and wrapped your arms around his neck after taking the bouquet. "Aw Sanji-kun, you're so sweet! Thank you so much"
"Everything for you, my love".
