Summary:

One-shots of our favourite couple in Hogwarts

Notes:

As requested, I've decided to make this a series. I'm still undecided on whether or not I actually like this chapter but I feel like I owe it to you all to at least decide if you like it. Enjoy!

Chapter 1: The girls finding out.

Chapter Text

Lia walked into the great hall, where all her friends were sitting together for lunch– well almost all of them. Unsurprisingly there were two people missing. She couldn’t help but smile as she walked up to the table to take her seat next to Caitlin.

“Hey Babe, how was potions?” Caitlin asked, leaning in to press a chaste kiss to her cheek.

Lia, completely ignoring her girlfriend, turned to the rest of the table, a satisfied smirk situated on her face, “Everyone pay up.”

The table was quiet for a moment, everyone sharing confused glances with each other, before Leah, who caught on first, let out a loud gasp, “Wait! No, You mean–”

Lia just smiled, nodding her head with a, “Yep.”

“There’s no way.”

“Do any of you feel like sharing what’s going on or are you gonna have us sit here in suspense,” Steph finally commented.

Leah rolled her eyes, “Where’s Beth, Stephanie?”

“Why do you insist on always using my full name?”

Leah shrugged, “That’s besides the point.”

“She’s at the library, said she wanted to get some extra studying in,” Jordan piped up from her place besides Leah.

“And who else is currently missing?” Lia prompted.

“OH MY GOD! Beth and Viv are doing it!” Jen let out way too loudly, causing other students to look at them weirdly.

“Jen!” Kim hissed, but it was no use. The table had erupted in chatter after the unexpected revelation.

“Wait wait wait,” Katie interrupted, “How do we know they actually are? You predicted they’d get together this week Wally, how do we know you're not just lying to get the money?”

“True, maybe you just want to win this bet,” Lotte agreed.

Lia arched eyebrow, “Well…” she reached into her robe to pull something out, “because I found this on our dorm room floor,” she said, putting the object on the table for everyone to see.

It was a tie. More specifically, a hufflepuff tie.

“No way!” Caitlin bursted out laughing, “You’d think they’d be a bit more careful.”

“When did you find this?” Leah asked, her own amusement evident.

“Yesterday after dinner. Viv was already asleep by the time I made it back, and left today before I woke up, so I haven’t had the time to interrogate her yet. But I’m guessing Beth left this and took Viv’s one by mistake,” Lia answered.

“Oh I can’t believe I didn’t realise sooner!” Steph exclaimed, “I saw Beth pull out something from her pocket before quickly shoving it back in and blushing. She waved me off when I asked but I thought it was just Beth being Beth.”

“Plus, she was very evasive when we asked where she had been the whole afternoon,” Jordan added.

“This is gold,” Jen laughed, “When are we gonna confront them?”

“C’mon guys. They’re clearly keeping it a secret for a reason. We should let them tell us in their own time,” Kim reasoned.

“Kimmy we love you, but we’re gonna completely ignore what you just said,” Katie smiled at her. Kim (lovingly) rolled her eyes in response.

“No time like the present, right?” Leah stated, “We’ll ask them when they come down for lunch.”

The group eventually moved on as they began eating lunch. Halfway through their meal, Beth and Viv finally showed up. Beth was wearing her black trousers and white shirt with the first two buttons undone and sleeves rolled up in a way that was so distinctly Beth. Viv was wearing much the same but with a jumper overtop of her shirt. What was notable about their appearances was the ties, or lack thereof. This wasn't exactly uncommon— most of the girls didn’t wear their ties if they weren’t going to class— but after the earlier revelation everyone couldn’t help but smile at the sight.

The two girls took their normal places at the table, Beth sitting between Jen and Steph, and Viv next to Katie and Lia opposite her. It was only when Beth went to reach to fill her plate did she realise the quiet that had settled over the table. And that they were all staring at her. Well, her and Viv.

“Okaaay, why is everyone so quiet?” Beth asked, raising her eyebrow in questioning.

“And why are all of you staring at us like that? It’s creepy,” Viv added.

Jen spoke first, completely ignoring both of their questions, “Hey Viv, where’s your tie?”

Viv, confused at the seemingly random question, replied, “Oh uh I dunno. Must’ve misplaced it, I couldn't find it in the morning. Why are you asking?”

“Maybe you should ask Beth where it is,” Katie commented, a shit-eating grin forming on her face.

Viv was even more confused now, “What?”

Beth, who was yet to tell Viv that she accidentally took her tie by mistake yesterday, began blushing a very bright red. She knew where all this was going. She was honestly surprised her friends found out so soon.

“Well actually–” she tried filling Viv in, before Lia interrupted her.

“Viv, I found this in our dorm yesterday,” she began to pull something out of her robes, “I think you might recognise it,” she said, handing it to Viv.

It was barely a second before Viv could feel her whole face heat up when she looked down at the item in hand.

“Godverdomme,” she swore in Dutch under her breath, then looked up at Beth who was already looking at her with an expression that can only be described as guilty.

“Really Beth?” she asked, holding up the tie.

Beth looked around the table, at her friends trying (and failing) to hold in their laughs. At least they were finding this amusing.

“What? You’re the one who threw it where I couldn't find it,” she defended.

“You could’ve at least told me you had my tie! I would’ve been more prepared for this interrogation!”

“Yeah well, I saw you and got a little distracted. That’s not my fault,” Beth countered. To her delight, she saw a faint blush rise on Viv’s cheeks at her comment.

Steph rolled her eyes from where all the girls were watching this whole interaction, “You’d think the two of you would stop arguing now that you're together but no.”

“Yeah, enough of this. We want details. When did you two get together?” Katie asked

ARE you two even together?” Caitlin added.

Viv paused for a second, thinking of the best way to answer their questions without too many details. She wanted to keep their private life somewhat private. “No were not actua–”
“No, we just had sex yesterday,” Beth interrupted bluntly.

“BETH!” Viv exclaimed, her cheeks heating up. The rest of the girls finally gave into their laughter while the table descended into what can only be described as chaos. So much for keeping things private.

“Sorry,” Beth mouthed over the chaos, sheepishly. Viv couldn’t be too mad. The girls were going to find out sooner or later, and they hadn’t discussed whether they were going to keep things quiet for a while before telling them. She should’ve known better than to think she could hide something from the girls.

She was actually planning on discussing their “relationship” further with Beth this afternoon when she walked into the library to find her. Beth, apparently, had other things on her mind because Viv had barely gotten out her ‘hey’ before Beth kissed her.

Viv was brought out of her thoughts by Jordan asking if this thing between them was serious or not.

“Well we made a bet on the Quidditch Cup final. Loser has to ask the winner out on a date,” Beth answered.

“Of course you made your first date a competition,” Leah rolled her eyes.

“Well as long as you two are happy, we’re happy for you,” Kim said, ever the mature one of the group.

“What Kim really means is that we’re happy that yous finally fucked. The tension was getting unbearable for us all,” Jen replied and everyone laughed while agreeing.

As the table finally moved on, Beth and Viv made eye contact. Beth smiled at Viv; a smile so infectious, Viv couldn’t help but mirror it.

Yes. They were happy.

Notes:

Hi. Sorry for such a long wait for an update. I know I still need to update "she never made sense" work. Truthfully, I've been so busy and also had very bad writers block. I know where I want my other story to go, it's just taking a while to figure out how to get it there. I thought the best way to get back into my groove of writing would be to focus on something else so I wrote this. It's not my best but hopefully it's given me some sort of motivation to go back to writing "SNMS".

Let me know your thought and what else you would like to see in this series. Constructive criticism is always welcome. And if you liked this, kudos is always appreciated.
