Sickfic
Severus was teaching a class of second year hufflepuffs when a tan feathered owl flew in,an off white letter clutched in its claws.
Ignoring the stares from the nosy children, he grasped the note and opened it before gritting his teeth in anger. It read:
Dear professor snape,
As guardian of Harry James Potter I wish to inform you that Mr. Potter has failed to show up to all classes today.
As punishment, Mr. Potter will have detention with Mr. Filch for the following week.
Signed, Deputy headmistress,
Minerva Mcgonagall.
Feeling pure rage, Severus threw the note down on his desk feeling slightly grateful that it was the last lesson of the day. He barley made it through the rest of the class without shouting at every child in sight.
After dismissing the annoying brats, he stormed out and raced down to his and Harry’s quarters. He had woken the boy up that morning and reminded him of the time twice, yet the note in his hand proved that the boy had lazed about, not bothering to go to any classes.
He slammed the door to his chambers shut,calling out “HARRY JAMES POTTER! I AM BEYOND ANGRY.” He waited for a moment, expecting a terrified 13 year old to come rushing down the hall but when no sight or sound of the boy came he ran straight to the child’s bedroom.
Severus stared blankly at the empty yet messy bed, where on earth was the brat?! Feeling furious, he stalked down the hall but not before hearing a slight whimper.
The wizard followed the sound until he arrived at an ajar bathroom door. He opened it fully and gasped,stumbling backwards in shock at the sight before him.
His son was sprawled out on the floor, infront of the toilet, unconscious and covered in vomit. He peered closer and noticed that the porcelain toilet was filled with the same vomit. Immediately realising why the boy hadn’t gone to any lessons, he felt terrible for his previous anger even if the boy hadn’t heard or saw it.
Shaking the boys shoulder lightly he attempted to wake him. “Harry? Wake up for me.” Eventually after a few minutes Harry’s eyes opened and he looked around for a second before throwing his head back towards the toilet and emptying his stomach once again.
After finishing that, he looked up at his dad who was just a concerned face staring at him. “My tummy hurts..” he groaned out.
“I don’t doubt it does, why didn’t you let me or someone else know you were sick? I thought you had just slept in later or decided to skip classes for fun.” He questioned the sick teen.
“Didn’t wanna bother you, I couldn’t leave the bathroom either though..” Harry mentioned as he leant against the bathtub, the cool metal relaxing him slightly. Severus frowned before waving his wand over the entire room, including his son,making it clean in a matter of seconds.
“Let’s get you into bed,hm?” He bent down and picked up the child,putting him over his shoulder gently as to not further upset his stomach. Harry just groaned as he felt himself be lifted but he stopped upon feeling the warmth and comfort of his dad.
When Severus walked into his bedroom, he placed the boy down on his bed. Harry’s eyes cracked open slightly. “Why am I in your room?” He sleepily questioned. Severus smiled down at the teen before replying “so I’m close by if you need me,okay?"
Harry nodded and burrowed himself into the bed,closing his eyes once more. Severus sat on the edge,watching as the child’s breathing evened out and gentle snores filled the room. He chuckled quietly before walking to his desk to grade some papers.
Just as he sat down he heard a small ‘love you dad..” his heart stopped. Harry had never called him that before. Yes he thought of the boy like his son but this.. he never imagined Harry felt the same. Smiling he turnt around only to see a completely asleep Harry on the bed again.
