Whatever it Takes

Summary:

The Powerpuff's and The Rowdyruff's decide to test and see how far they can go with their powers, in a bit of destructive, training fun!

(Aka what happens when both creators love the Powerpuff Girls and watch a bunch of Anime )🤣

Notes:

Hello All!

Hope you're having a bless week!

For all those who were reading TBD, this is basically a more tame, fun version of it.

With the girls and guys battling each other in order to reach a certain power level.

The fights will be brutal, which is why a violence tag was used, but it won't get too gory.

And yes the title is in reference to the Imagine Dragons song

Anyway hope you all enjoy!😊

Chapter 1: Falling to fast to prepare for this

Chapter Text

Saturday.

Movie Day.

This tradition between the Powerpuff Girls and the Rowdyruff Boys would seem odd to an outsider, but them being friends for over a year now, it was far from normal.

Brick sat in the recliner. Bubbles and Boomer laid on the floor. Blossom sat up against the recliner. Butch and Buttercup shared the sofa.

All watching the new movie they had waited for a year to come out.

"Pass the salsa." Said Buttercup.

"What's the magic word?" Smirked Butch.

"Or else."

"Nice." Snickered Boomer.

"Butch, just pass her the salsa." Sighed Brick.

"Or Buttercup could add a please to that sentence." Said Blossom.

"Like that'll happen." Giggled Bubbles.

"Hey! This is our house. I can ask for what I want, anyway I like." Buttercup said.

"Ah, ah! But we're your guest, which means you should be polite." Countered Butch.

"Exactly, your a guest. A guest that can easily be removed." She smirked.

"Can you two save your discussion, after our movie is finished?" Asked Brick.

"Very well. Despite this blunt disrespect, I will pass you the salsa Buttercup."

Butch took the half empty jar and chugged some of it in his mouth. He then gave Buttercup a smirk and passed it to her.

She gave him a disgusted look.

"Thanks." She said sarcastically.

"Look at that! You do have manners." He snickered.

She rolled her eyes and they all turned thier attention back to the movie they were watching.

After 45 minutes, the movie concluded.

"That. Was. Worth. The. Wait!" Cheered Butch.

"It definitely had a good story." Nodded Boomer.

"And plenty of intense, hard hitting action!" Smiled Buttercup.

"The characters were good, but I liked the characters from the last one we watched." Said Bubbles.

"You're just upset, there wasn't any shipping in this one." Scoffed Brick.

"I enjoy good a romance, sue me."

He huffed and stuck his tongue out at her, causing her to do the same.

He blinked. "You got a new tongue piercing?"

"Surprise." She winked.

"This one was good, but I think the third act was better handled in the Manga." Blossom commented.

"Please, don't be one of the those." Groaned Butch.

"Someone has to do it." She giggled.

"I think this movie was a waste of time." Brick mumbled.

"What's with you? You've been sulking since you got here." Said Buttercup.

"He's just upset, because he lost three times in a row, to his virtual chess opponent." Boomer smiled smugly.

"And talking all that trash about how you were going to beat them. So sad." Butch mocked sighed.

"Aw, poor Brick." Cooed Buttercup.

"Would you like us to play you a sad song?" Asked Blossom.

"Or maybe you just need a big hug! Come here!" Bubbles said, holding her arms open.

The other's laughed, as Brick fought back a smile of his own.

"Ha. Ha. I'll stick to sulking, Thank you very much."

"The offer still stands." Bubbles shrugged with a smile.

"If I'm going to honest, the movie was fine. I do agree, that the last movie had more of a structure to it, versus this one, which was just a bunch of fighting."

"Which is all you really need." Buttercup sighed, contently.

"I think I'll give this a six." He said.

"I'll give it a seven." Said Boomer.

"Seven for me too." Said Bubbles.

"I'm gonna give it a five." Said Blossom.

"I think it's an eight." Said Buttercup.

"This gets a ten from me. After a year hiatus, and leaving us on that cliffhanger, this movie definitely delivered." Butch said.

"Now we just have to wait another six months for the next season to drop." Said Boomer.

"Or you could just go read it." Said Blossom.

"Or you could wait to see those stunning pages in these beautiful animations." Said Bubbles.

"Or you could do both." Said Buttercup.

"I definitely can't wait to see how they showcase his next power up in the show. The one here, looked amazing." Butch leaned against the couch. "Wish we had power ups like that."

"Who's to say we don't?" Brick asked, sipping his drink.

"What?!" Said Butch.

"We don't know the extent or limit of our powers. Who's to say we don't have some form of ultra power transformation?"

"Are you telling me, my power up is within my grasp?!" Butch grinned.

"Could be." Shrugged Brick.

"If they have a power up form, then wouldn't that mean...."

"Yes Buttercup. It would mean, we would access to one too." Said Blossom, eating a few chips.

"We have the means to a power up transformation and we're just sitting on it?!" She yelled.

"Buttercup, dad has mentioned before that even he doesn't know the full extent of what our powers can do. Why do you think every blue moon, we get a Power Scan Physical? Is to see how far our abilities can go." Blossom explained.

"It's the same thing with us Butch. When Pops has us in the lab for three hours, is to see how high our power level can go and if there's a way to access it, without burning out of hurting ourselves." Brick said.

"Well then how do we test this? I don't know about you guys, but I want my cool power up."

"Same here." Smiled Buttercup.

"We would likely need, to test our powers on something or on someone with similar feats and durability." Blossom guessed.

"Soooo, each other then." Butch smirked.

The girls blinked, while Brick rubbed his chin.

"Huh? Yes actually." He said.

"Wait, you all want to fight?" Asked Bubbles.

"After we finally stop fighting each other, you all want a fight?" Blossom asked, with a shake of her head.

"You said it yourself. If we want to test the idea of a power up we would have to try it out on a person or an object that could stand our powers. I doubt we could find an object of immense strength, so our best bet is to find a person." Brick said.

"And look at that! Six Chemical X, engineered teens." Butch laughed.

"I think that's a great idea!" Smiled Buttercup.

"Of course you would." Said Blossom. "I don't know..."

"Come on Pinky. Look at as training."

"Is that how you're looking at things?"

"I'm looking at this as a means to expand my power. But you three? Him is still a high arc threat, not every monster confides in the treaty, and Chemical X Criminals are still a problem. Think of all of what you could do, with a power up."

He and Blossom stared at each other for some time.

"...I hate when you do that." She mumbled.

"That's what makes it fun." He winked.

"I don't know..." Said Bubbles.

"Ugh! Come on Bubbles." Said Buttercup.

"Are you scared?" Smiled Brick.

"No! I just don't see the appeal of us fighting."

"Try thinking of it as a challenge." Suggested Boomer.

"Yeah! Like when you and Boomer had that race, or how Butch and I had that arm wrestling contest, or that puzzle tournament Blossom and Brick had, or..."

"Those are different. We were having fun. This is us actively trying to beat each other for no reason."

"Ah, ah! We're actively fighting each other to gain a power up transformation. Big difference." Said Butch.

"Still, I'm not that on board for it."

"Just admit you're scared, so we can move on." Said Buttercup.

"I already told you I'm not scared. I could take you guys."

"Yeah, right." Scoffed Brick.

"Hey! I'm a tough fighter too!" She said narrowing her eyes.

"Bubbles your little phase you had we were younger was cute and all, but let's be honest, you'd probaly be able to only take one of us down." Said Buttercup

"I think Bubbles would be a challenge to beat." Said Boomer.

"Thanks Boomer!" She smiled, causing him to blush and making the greens fake gag.

"Bubbles can definitely be a challenge if she wants to be, but she can lack focus at times." Said Blossom.

"Hmph. I could take you guys."

"I think she could." Said Butch.

"Ha. Very funny Butch." Said Brick.

Butch stared at them with no smile or smirk on his face. The others eyes grew wide and they blinked.

"You're...serious?" Said Buttercup.

"Yeah, I think Bubbles could take you guys."

"What makes you say that?" Asked Brick.

He tsked and shook his head.

"Because my dear brother, over the course of my years, I have learned one trade secret when it comes to people."

"Which is?" Asked Boomer.

"Don't piss off the nice ones." He grew a smirk. "Bubbles is nicest person I've ever met. I have no doubt in my mind that she could easily crush you all."

"Huh, thanks Butch!"

"Don't mention it. Mind you I did say you could be them, don't let any thoughts of beating me cross your mind." He winked.

"Noted." She giggled.

"Regardless of whom we think can beat whom, this is going to be taken as a training regiment for us, which means..."

"It's mandatory." Moaned the other two sisters.

"Thanks a lot Brick." Griped Buttercup.

"Aw, poor Buttercup." Smirked Brick.

"I'm all for testing our powers, but where exactly we do it and when?" Asked Boomer.

Blossom gave a hum and flew up to her room. She came back down and sat on the couch.

She placed her laptop on the the coffee table and opened it up.

The others looked on confused and curious as she frantically typed away.

After five minutes, she finally turned her screen to the others.

"This is an old abandoned town about three hours from here. I figure by flight, it should only take us about thirty minutes."

Brick let out a whistle. "Place is huge. You sure it's abandoned?"

"Yup. Triple checked. Apparently a monster attack, left the place too damaged to repair."

"Which means it's the perfect place to test our powers!" Butch cheered.

"When do you want to do this?" Asked Brick.

"Let's shoot for next Saturday. That can give us a chance to train with our abilities and be better prepared." Blossom declared.

"Sounds like a plan." He agreed.

"Perfect! If you excuse me I have to go find a mountain to bench press!" Butch said, zooming out of the house.

"Guess we'll head out too." Brick said, standing up with a stretch. "I hope you all know he was serious about that mountain."

"I would expect nothing less." Smiled Blossom.

"See you next Saturday." Boomer waved as he and his brother left the Utonium household.

"I can't believe we're doing this." Bubbles sighed, as she began to clean up.

"This is a good opportunity to increase our powers and know our limits Bubbles." Said Blossom, as she helped to clean as well.

"And it will be a load of fun!" Squealed Buttercup.

"Fun?" Asked Blossom.

"Come on, don't tell me you two haven't once thought about just letting out your power just for the sake of it and having a good time."

Bubbles bit her lip in attempt to hide her smile and Blossom shifted her lips to fight hers off.

"Thought so." Chuckled Buttercup.

"You guys might want to go to sleep early tonight." Suggested Blossom.

"Why?" Asked Bubbles.

"Because training begins a 4 a.m."

"Why do we have to train?!" Whined Buttercup.

"Because we need to be able to have our basics down. Which requires training."

"Still think this will be fun?" Smirked Bubbles.

Buttercup huffed and crossed her arms. "This power up better be worth it." She said, making her sister's giggle.
