Wind’s grace lifted the leaves off the ground and brushed against the quiet area. Within the area sat a being. Omen .
Golden hour was his favourite, he frequented the balcony of the base to experience how the wind quietly swirled across, allowing him to focus on the tranquil sound and not on the rage and confusion that spiralled within the phantom.
The sound of the rooftop door creaked.
Omen turned his head towards the noise,
Sova .
The other man greeted Omen with a warm smile he always greeted him with. Something that made the wraith’s head squirm. You see, the being had fallen in love with the other, but of course he solely believed no thing like him would deserve someone as perfect as Sova. So. He hid it. Hid it under all the layers of confusion and pain that existed already within him.
But Sova?
Well the man had fallen deeply in love too…But alas the harsh walls the shadow built left no room for him to show his feelings. But he decided. Today would be the day he would try to climb those walls.
“Sova…”
The wraith looked into the other’s gazing eyes, the golden rays of the hour shimmering his eyes into those of amber.
“Omen. I haven’t seen you in a while.”
Omen shuddered, Sova seemed to be aware of his absence in their frequent hangouts.
“I’m sorry…”
He stared at Sova’s face. Still smiling. Still understanding. So darn forgiving.
“I can’t. Im… Sorry Sasha.”
The wraith finally broke their shared eye contact. Clutching to his cape as he bore holes into the rooftop ground tainted by the setting sun's light.
“Why can you not?”
The other replied, his voice soft, his expression full of concern, an expression that made Omen’s mind weak.
“I’m here, Omen. Speak to me. Please …”
Omen raised his cloaked head, his beloved hunter now infront of him, eyes still concerned, pleading for an answer.
“I can’t be around you, Sova. You need to leave me alone, go join the others.”
Sova shook his head.
“I won't leave you to dust, tell me… Please..”
“ I love you Omen .”
The phantom froze.
“You…Do?”
“Of course my dear.”
“I can’t… Be with you.”
“But why?”
“Do you even know what’s underneath this hood, Sova? What lurks underneath it?”
“ Show me then…”
Omen gazed in awe, lifting his clawed hand, guiding the hunter's normal hand towards his hood.
And with a gentle tug.
It was pulled down.
Sova’s gaze widened. In Front of him stood a swirling head of the man he loved, moving against the calm wind as if it were a fire, and the claw-marked face glowed the deep and brilliant cyan as it stared back into Sova’s eyes.
“I’m a monster, Sasha.”
“What makes you think that dear?”
His voice questioned, still caring, unfazed, still warm, still making Omen shudder .
“Why… Why love and want to be with a man who constantly is on the brink of living and dying, why love a man who can never share a kiss of love, love a man who constantly rips himself apart and cannot simply keep himself together? Why would you love a man who is not a man?” The wraith’s voice croaked in pain.
“ Omen. ”
The wraith’s lowered head raised towards his dear hunter’s voice once more.
“Your presence has lifted me to places of happiness I haven’t been in years, Your voice fills me with joy and the time we spend together forever becomes the highlights of my life. I was clouded with the cold thought my mind pushed upon me until you came - and for all the love and happiness I want to be here for you. I want to be someone you rely on, to help you find the answers to the many questions that tear you apart, I want to be the one who brings you together again, to warm you in an embrace and forever comfort you-bring you all the things you desire give you what you want-”
“I want you..”
Omen looked onwards to see a teary face.
“You already have me my love..”
And with that Sova embraced Omen, bringing his hands around his spirit-like head. Resting his own forehead against Omen’s.
“I love you so much my dear… No matter what form you take I will continue loving you.”
The wraith’s claw-face closed and gave into the hunter’s embrace, wrapping himself around the one he loved so dearly.
The two hugged tightly.
The now almost set sun brought a deep comforting red to surround the island, allowing the stars to finally appear in the navy blue sky.
The stars welcomed a new bond that formed underneath it that moment, one that would stuck together with love and care.
