Welcome to my second fanfiction about the Alice in Borderland universe!
Like the first one, it's a sapphic romance. This time with the character of Yuzuha Usagi.
Disclaimer:
All my Alice in Borderland fanfictions take place in the same universe and therefore include the same originals characters. You can see it as different realities, certain characters have more or less importance depending on the protagonist. In “The Game of Hearts”, the protagonist was close to the characters of Emiko and Oyuki. They still exist in this story but will be much more in the background since the protagonist is different.
In this story, you can consider that the protagonist of the "Game of Hearts" as well as those of the stories that will follow, died upon arriving in Borderland. Which therefore implies that the impact they had in their own timeline no longer exists.
All my fanfictions can therefore be read independently.
Timeline :
I read the manga and watched the show. Although I much preferred the original work, most of the settings and character designs will remain identical to the adaptation so as not to lose those who have only seen the show. On the other hand, my story is based much more on the manga.
About the Reader:
This time she will be directly linked to a canon character. In this case Ryôhei Arisu. But knowing that I wanted to maintain freedom for the reader to imagine their character with their own physical characteristics. I chose to make this character an adopted little sister. I plan to use this as a real part of her story, although it remains minimal given the character's age at that point and everything she went through afterward.
I also wanted to give my character a physical handicap, so for this story the reader will be deaf. I would like to point out that despite having carried out research on the subject, I remain no less a hearing person. It is therefore possible that some part of my story does not sound realistic for people with this disability. This is why I am open to criticism and advice. Especially coming from the people concerned and/or health professionals in this field.
I don't necessarily want to show this disability only in a dramatic way. This is not the character's only personality, nor the unique cause of her other mental disorders.
About Arisu:
Even though I stole his girlfriend, I haven't completely forgotten him. His relationship with Usagi was very important in his development so I found two alternatives. The sibling’s relationship he will have with the protagonist will have a more important place for him, and I gave him a love interest, so as not to let him third wheeling throughout the whole story. I specify that this romance will be very secondary since it does not concern the protagonist.
Last thing :
The character wears a cochlear implant which energy capacity and resistance will not necessarily be realistic. It is still a fictional universe where the laws of physics are not always well applied (like Aguni who knocks out a tiger with his bare hands), and the scenario must be moved forward.
