Chapter Text
Izuku was playing with a few of the other boys in the village as usual. "Can I be a demon hunter this time?" asked he Katsuki, the leader of the little group. Katsuki looked at him and scoffed. "Oh okay" replied Izuku and with the help of Eijirou he climbed the tower that they used as a fake tower.
They always played this game where one was a prince or princess in need of rescue. One was the prince or princess, one was the demon holding the princess hostage and one was the heroic demon hunter or demon hunters if they where more then 3 but they usually weren't. This time they wher 4 but Shoto didn't fell like playing so he just watched them. The roles where almost always the same: Katsuki was the demon hunter, Eijirou was the demon and Izuku was the prince. Eijouro could make his skin almost unbreakable and had horns so he always was the demon. "You're to weak to be a demon hunter anyway!" was Katsuki reasoning for Izuku to always be the prince.
"Don't worry prince Deku! I'll save you!" yelled Katsuki and charged at Eijirou with his woden sword, trying to stab Eijirou with it. The battle between the 2 lasted almost 15 minutes which Izuku used to write down their attack patterns. He might not have been strong but he was smart, knew how to write, read, where to find the best type of ore for demon prof weapons and was really good in analysing and strategizing.
Katsuki eventually defeated Eijirou by making him trip then hitting him in the head with his sword and standing on top of him and loudly declaring: "I Katsuki Bakugou, the greatest demon hunter of all time, have defeated another one of those foul creatures!" He jumped of Eijirou and went back towards the village without bothering the help Izuku of the tree. Eijirou sighed and helped Izuku climb of the tree. "Who's gonna tell him that demon hunters need to save people too?" asked Shoto, the son of the village chief.
"Apparently no one." sighed Eijirou "Anyway Shoto why don't you ever play with us if you get the chance too?". "Well" Shoto looked to the ground "you always play demon hunter and nothing else. It's like i can't escape fathers stupid training and his expectations. I mean becoming a greater demon hunter then he and All Might, is that even possible?" Silence. The 3 boys stared at the ground before Izuku took Shotos right and Eijirous left hand and pulled them with him back to the village.
After a while Izuku silently said: "You could play exploring with Momo, Ochaco, Tsu and me." while carefully looking over at Shoto. Shoto looked back at him and nodded. Eijirou replied with: "Well I can always ask Yuuga if he wants to be prince so that Katsuki is distracted and doesn't annoy you while exploring!" Izuku smilled "That would be great!" The 3 of them enter the village shortly after and Shoto promised to come tomorrow after his training to go exploring together before he went back to his house.
Eijirou and Izuku eventually parted ways as well and went back to their houses. Eijirou went back to his house and to his surprise his father the former legendary demon hunter Crimson riot, who had retiered from being a demon hunter to take care of Eijirou, was already back from hunting. "Father!" he screamed and run towards him. Hid father turned around and hugged him. "How was your day my litel riot?" "Amazing! We played demon hunters again! And if i manage to get Tokoyami, Yuuga and Ojirou to play with us tomorrow then I'll finally be a hunter too!" Crimson smiled "That's great now" he picked his son up and carried him to the kitchen "dinner is ready! I caught multiple fish and Miss Midoriya was kind enough to help me make them!"
Izuku went into his house where is mother was already waiting form him with dinner. "Sorry for being late mom!" Inko smiled "It's alright! Now dinners is ready" "Thanks mom!" He started gobbeling down the fish really quickly because he had missed out on lunch. After he was finished he tidied up the living area, put all his All Might figurines away into the box in his room, they where handmade and had cost him 3 months worth of allowence each hence why he only had 2, and packed up the leftover fish into a small package.
Afterwards he quickly went outside and to a broken down house on the village outskirts. He knocked on the door in a specific pattern and it opened. A girl his age appeared and smiled. "Izuku!" "Ochaco" they hugged each other and he gave her the package with the fish. "Thank you!" "No problem!" they smiled at each other and played a little after Ochaco gave the package to her parents. It eventually got dark outside so Izuku got ready to leave. "Ah before I go, we'll play exploring together with Shoto tomorrow!" Ochaco looked at him with shock in her eyes "You got him to play?!" "Yep" "Are you a magician after all?!" Izuku grinned and said "I'm have the power of friendship!" They both laughed.
