Work Text:
Larissa greeted you at the door, showering you with hugs and kisses. Promptly, she covered your eyes and guided you into the kitchen, her voice absolutely giddy, "I have a birthday surprise for you."
"Larissa, what are you talking about?" You laugh at her joy in surprising you, raising your hands to cover hers, attempting to pull them away from your face. Larissa wouldn't budge, keeping her hands shielding your eyes to prevent you from seeing the surprise too soon.
"You'll see!" Larissa giggled, keeping her hands on your face until you felt the tile of the kitchen floor beneath your feet. When she removed her hands, you looked down to see a homemade cake with your your name written below the words 'Happy Birthday!' It was decorated with your favorite colors. This might have been the sweetest gesture you had ever received on your birthday, and while it was far from perfect, you wouldn't want another gift for your birthday.
"Oh, Rissa..." You brought your hands to your mouth, taking a step closer. Your initial reaction instantly worried Larissa, but when you threw yourself into her arms, she knew you loved your gift.
"You really like it?" It truly seemed like you liked the gift, but Larissa needed to hear you say it.
"I love it. I absolutely love it!" You hug her even tighter before pulling away, eyes drawn to the cake before you.
Her hands settled on your hips as you turned back to observe the cake, "I assumed we could have cake and watch your favorite movie? I know you don't like your birthday very much, but I thought we could at least do a little something."
"I'd like that... I'd like that very much."
