Work Text:
It was the last day of school for the professors and she had announced your permanence on the Nevermore staff. You had been filling the open Botany position for a semester while they were looking for a new hire. Throughout the semester, you had proven yourself as perfect addition to the staff, so Larissa advised to the board that you should remain permanently. Larissa had lingered behind as your, now, peers filed out of the room to begin their summers, "Congratulations, Y/n."
Larissa then pulled you into a hug without warning. Truly, you couldn't remember the last time someone had hugged you. The embrace was tight and loving, but soon you felt anxiety coursing through your body. Recognizing the lack of physical contact in your life brought forth a flurry of emotions.
In response, you wrapped your arms around Larissa, holding her tight and releasing a sob from your body. Larissa's brow furrowed in response, unsure of what triggered these emotions in you, but she hugged you a little tighter. You didn't hear a teacher open the lounge door, but Larissa shot them a glare causing them to turn around once again.
After a few more minutes, Larissa pulled away from the hug, taking you by your hands, "Come, dear. I will make you some tea and we can sit and chat for a while."
You followed Larissa back to her office where she fixed you tea. She allowed you to cry a while longer while you talked through some of the anxieties that had been plaguing you. Before you left her office, she gave you a final tight squeeze, urging you to come and visit her office over summer break when you had time.
