Work Text:
In the dim light of the dorm room, the only thing you could see were Lily and Mary, dancing around and Marlene laying on her front on one of the beds. The only thing you could hear, was Waterloo. They've been at it since everyone came back from Spring Break.
Marlene genuinely didn't know what everyone was obsessing over, the song wasn't even that good! Also, her dorm mates were overly-annoying since they came back and have been working their way to get themselves kicked out of the dorm.
However, she wasn't the only one with that opinion. For example, James and Sirius. Well, Sirius at least. James is probably also going to start wailing about Waterloo if he is really that desparate to get Lily. Sirius, on the other hand, hates them. It's because "they're a pop band, and he's punk rock". Good enough.
"The history book on the shelf-" Lily sang as loud as she could, startling Marlene.
"-Is always repeating itself!" Mary continued.
Why couldn't they get that they are made for eachother, Marlene thought. Oh, how she wishes that she had someone to sing her songs with. Perhaps a certain Slytherin whose name starts with Do-
"Waterloo! I was defeated you won the war!" Mary suddenly grabbed Marlene's hand and pulled her upwards to dance with them, bringing Marlene out of her daydreams.
She finally let Mary win and got up on two wobbly feet, with Mary holding her hands and swinging them around, almost tripping over the source of their music. Lily had brought and charmed this muggle thing called a radio, also almost dropped it on the first day after Spring Break because McGonagall almost caught her bringing it in the dorms.
"Waterloo! Promise to love you for ever moree!" Lily chanted, so obviously speaking to Mary but her oblivious head not getting it! Oh, they annoyed Marlene so much..
But she loved them anyways.
Without warning, Mary started to twirl in a circle and lost her balance, tripping on her own two feet. Luckily, Lily was there to catch her.

The only thing Lily could think about were Mary's delicate and soft hands on her shoulders and her own on Mary's hips.
Mary let out a breathy laugh, oblivious to the raging butterflies Lily desperately tried to calm down in her stomach.
"Waterloo! Couldn't escape if I wanted to." Mary said slowly, her face still dangerously close to Lily's.
Then the music stopped. Oh why did the music stop.
"Couldn't escape your terrible music taste! Ugh!" Marlene exclaimed. Damn her and her hate for ABBA!
Marlene swiftly turned and walked out of the dorm, slamming the door.
Just then, Lily became too aware of her surroundings and also Mary. Mary's fingers were close to her red hair and she desperately wanted her to run them through it. Her ankle was hooked around Lily's for extra support, since she was about to fall just a second ago. Lily didn't want this moment to end.
"Bloody hell.. Sorry Lils" Mary said, slowly pulling away with a slight blush that beautifully decorated her dark skin.
"It's fine Mary. Are you alright?" Lily softly said.
"Yes, of course I am! My prince in shining armour just saved me" Mary breathily said.
Mary turned the radio back on, and Lily wished that time would stop and she could stay like this forever because Mary turned to her and sang,
"Waterloo, knowing my fate is to be with you"
