Chapter 1: Wake up call

Chapter Text

"Come…on…"

"I'm…. Creat…or…"

My body… I can't feel anything…

"....Tr…y to….move…"

...Why is everything so fuzzy…

"...Acti…vating…"

...I can't…

"I won't…. piece of–!...."

I can't breathe–!

WAKE UP.

A room in the factory now began to reactivate after its long period of inactivity; machines began to come alive as lights flickered on. In the center of the room was a large chamber, its content obscured by a mysterious fluid inside. A loud 'thump' was added to the sounds that echoed through the abandoned room.

The thumping would grow desperate like something was begging and pleading to be set free, and soon enough its wish would be granted. The chamber started to drain and the glass exterior would open, causing a small mobian-like creature to spill onto the floor, taking quick and shallow breaths with the occasional coughing fit.

"(Air…sweet air…)"

The silver-haired feline remained motionless on the floor in an attempt to take in all the oxygen that could fill his metallic lungs and process what was going on. Where was he, and why was he here…? HOW did he get here? His thoughts were fuzzy and it seemed like he couldn't remember anything except the present moments. Not even his own name.

"...Where am I…? What happened to me…"

The android slowly lifted himself off the floor, whimpering slightly from the pain he felt after that fall. His green and hot-pink eyes shifted around to scan the room he found himself in, the surroundings seeming vaguely familiar. Just a few steps in and he found himself somewhere else, dark and silent. It really did seem like this place hadn't been touched in years, yet… there was barely any dust.

"...Hello?"

He called out into the silence, hoping for an answer. His voice just echoed with no response…until a long moment later, he finally heard a reply from somewhere in the room.

>...HEY…YOU…

The voice was layered with static, and was a bit hard to tell who or what was speaking. The reception down here was absolutely terrible.

>...CAN Y…HEAR ME…? GRAB…THE SWORD… TRY TO HIT…TH…COMPUTER….

He blinked a few times with confusion over the request that was made. Just…hit this very expensive computer with a weapon? That didn't seem right, but…well, what else could an android with no memories do? He grabbed the weapon that sadly laid in the corner and wandered up to the computer attached to the wall, slamming the blade against the console.

The computer sparked to life and the large monitor flickered on, revealing a face…no… a silhouette of someone who seemed extremely… familiar in a way the android didn't understand.

>THAT'S BETTER…

>...DO YOU REMEMBER ME…? …I GUESS NOT. MEMORY CHIP 2…FAULTY…

>LISTEN, HEART…

"(Heart… is that my name…? …It doesn't sound wrong.)"

>WE HAVE MUCH TO DISCUSS… BUT THERE'S NO TIME…

...The emergency lights and alarms in the room activated. This isn't good. What's going on?

>YOU MUST…ESCAPE… FOLLOW THE SIGNS…

R U N !

With that warning said, the computer abruptly shut off and the exit to the main factory opened. Red lights flashing and alarms blaring… it seemed like Heart would have to fight his way through to get answers. There was so much he needed to know! So many questions… it was just too much for one android, really.

So, when Heart rushed out of the room for his grand escape… it wouldn't take very long to realize that there was more to this than what the eye could see…
